In this video I show you a streamlined workflow for warping audio in Ableton in a music context. In this example we are using janky sounding and poorly played guitar and drum takes that were not recorded to a click. I walk you through finding the tempo, syncing everything up, and getting it to sound presentable for a songwriting session.
Keep in mind, this is relatively straightforward example for the sake of a tutorial vide for beginner and intermediate Ableton users. This warping task could be more laborious if you are using audio files that are much longer or entire mixes. That would make it a bit harder to figure out where the transients and the beats are. This would also be harder with vocals, and other instruments like strings and pads that do not have clear transients.
One of the most important concepts to take away from this video is understanding how the timeline works, and how warped vs. unwarped audio files interact with tempo and pitch changes.
I hope this is helpful and let me know if you have any questions!
    Best,
    Lucas
