MLB Career Defining Hits

- Just so you know the most career defining hits for certain players aren’t always their most clutch hits. Some of them are but a lot of them are huge milestones.

I gotta say, torii hunter going over the wall made big papi's grand slam 10 times more exciting
As a tigers fan it still breaks my heart to this day
That series was so full of grit from both teams. Torii put his body on the line to try and make the play.
Still one of my favorite playoff series of all time.
Not to mention the cop showing his excitement too
He probably could’ve gotten there if Ortiz didn’t hit a rocket
Bro Chris Davis was a 50+ hr hitter, got a massive contract, then forgot how to play baseball
TheSword1235 On God he did!!! SMH
We never catch a break.
like the last oriole to hit 50.
look up what happened to him it’s pretty crazy. he took pills for his mental health and adhd and the league added it to the list of banned substances so he couldn’t take it anymore then he sure turned into THE worst hitter in the league. i fell bad for him yet again i remember he’s making BANK for going 0-54
Same thing happened to Brady Anderson
it was amazing seeing ichro getting hit number 3000 just based on fact that he came to the majors at 27 and put up 200+ plus hits his first decade from the very start.
Yep and screw what Pete Rose says about it. Ichiro is very deserving of it.
@Snickering Ginger I know what ichiro did was amazing and his record of 200+ his for a decade straight will probably never be broken
Great package, but was disappointed that Mike Piazza's home run for the New York Mets in the first game after 9/11 didn't make the list.
That one is always left out in compilation videos
It wasn't "career defining"
May not of been a milestone hit, but many New Yorkers will reply that is the one Mike Piazza hit that defined his time as a New York Met.
Perhaps among the most iconic home runs of baseball history. One can't talk about Piazza's career without it.
Rick's Travelogue because it is Mike Piazza
Hi papis defining moment was game 4 of 2004 ALCS
And Game 5 of 2004 ALCS, lol
As a yanks fan, I have to agree... those Homer’s he hit in those games brought the Sox back from the dead, and led them to the greatest comeback in playoff history, and the WS title
@Montana Roots this is true. I was born in a supposed millennial year, but I'm old and not in my twenties, so i've been watching sports for 30 years and see that all the time. History gets ignored. It happens in all sports conversations with younger people.
Game 4 yep. to hit roberts in.
Cokedlr that was Mueller that knocked Roberts in. Ortiz hit the HR that won it Game 4 then a single that scored Damon in game 5
Touch 'em all, Joe, you'll never hit a bigger home run in your life!
BAUTISTA WITH A DRIVE, DEEP LEFT FIELD, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!!!
High drive, into right, back at the wall, it is GONE! Grand slam Montero! Game one hero! (2016 NLCS)
Strike three, and this one’s in the books, folks. (Louisville Colonels losing for the 26th consecutive game in 1889.)
Ive watched the bat flip so many times i dont need to watch it anymore. I can replay it in my mind
@@BlueJaysForever-zb3ty too bad they got beat by the royals 😂😂😂
Those people just casually ran on the field for Hank Aaron’s homer😂😂
Back in the day it wasn’t uncommon, especially after pennant clinching games. Today they’d get tasered lol
Well I mean this poor guy was getting death threats for being a black man about to beat Babe Ruth's record. Was during a time just like now where racism was running rampant so this moment was bigger than baseball my friend
@@ElectrikNYCfunK

Hank was like get off me
@@alexyerkey3141 the 2 people who were high school students at the time said years later they got arrested for that www.google.com/amp/s/fanbuzz.com/mlb/hank-aaron-715/amp/
Buster Posey’s grand slam against the Reds in the 2012 NLDS Game 5 was more significant.
Scott Piper Definitely
Absolutely
Certainly
As a reds fan I concur 😔
Absolute fact. Biggest shot of his life and saved the giants postseason run
I didn’t realize all career defining “hits” were homers minus Ichiro’s 3,000th hit. When I think career defining hits, I think Luis Gonzalez’s walk-off base hit in the World Series or Jeter’s walk-off base hit on the last at-bat of his career. Not saying a lot of these aren’t magical in this video, they are. But, home runs do NOT always define careers, legendary careers at that. I like the long ball, but some of the most magical hits ever are gap shots, bleeders, or clutch base hits. I don’t care what anyone says.
joe carter. thats all
I agree
Definitely agree
Nick Ruble someone that agrees thankyou
Endy Chavez's drag bunt is one of my favorite base hits of all time.
“Jeters walk-off bomb” *barley gets over 314 sign*
Bobby Cushing I thought the same thing😂
Bobby C honestly do you write your own material bc you should be up there with dave chappelle by now.
Damn ur probably in below grade ela because u spelled barely wrong lol
Jeter's moment is that kid catching the ball 4 feet over the fence.
To be fair, it was opposite field.
Ah that adrenaline and excitement only Joe Buck can bring.
Ws needs vasgersian
joe buck is not even that bad anymore he just WAS terrible. Now he's personally one of my favorite announcers in baseball. There's a huge difference now than what joe was
boywhoharnessedthewind
Ok you’re high
boywhoharnessedthewind yeah he’s gotten a lot better
@@wm_9640 not every super bowl. Fortunately. But he will have this one.
David freese bottom of the 9th 2 strikes 2 outs down in score with people on base then he hits a triple? Then a walk off next at bat? Where is it?
Also where is Jose Bautista’s iconic bat flip 3 run homer at
Kade Hicklin or Travis Ishikawas walk off to win the pennant
Freese for sure. You could also put lance berkman in the same game to tie it..
As a Rangers fan, please fuck off.
@@Gabagool93 lmao
and Nelson Cruz making the worst defensive error possible giving up a 3 base error to lose the entire world series for the rangers, dammit why didn't they sub in an actual outfielder.
you should do irrelevant players known for one incredible play, like DeWayne Wise saving Mark Buehrle's perfect game. Keep up the good work!
Like Fransisco cabrera's 1992 game winning single in game 7 of the NLCS.. I second this
Travis Ishikawa three-run bomb in the NLCS
Charlie Hall Joe Carter’s WS walkoff
Terry Treger Joe Carter had over 300 homeruns was a repeat all-star. Not irrelevant.
dave roberts stolen base
Ben Zobrist’s double in extra innings 2016 World Series?
Hell, Ross' bomb off Miller too
3 or 4 homers from that series should've been in the video
Or José Bautista’s bat flip.
Zobrist had some huge hits for the Royals in 2015 WS too
That homer by Frank Thomas just shows how strong he is. Just flicks the bat head at the ball trying to make contact and avoid striking out, and he sends the ball twenty rows deep.
Dear God Frank Thomas is HUGE
He's called The Big Hurt for a reason
Ajneufeld762...Imagine getting in a fist fight w/ him?! lol...One solid punch & you'll probably be in a coma!
ajneufeld762 you mean he’s THICC
@@jadeng.s.2549 get out
The Memer No Thanks
As good as Big Papi was, with the bases loaded I would of walked him up 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th.... i don't care who's up next
GamerHart it’s funny cuz he was shut down that whole series up until that home run.
Thats what im thinking.
I remember that home run hit by Frank Thomas like it yesterday...It's so depressing to think that it's going on 12 years since that moment...God, I miss both the Big Hurt & Chipper Jones
Didn't see Kirk Gibson's WS home run, but a good video nonetheless.
If that HR wasn't "career defining" then idk what is...
One of the best HRs in MLB history.
I think it was a very good moment but it wasn’t career defining by this point he was already a older player and just left his team he was memorable for career defining would be a big historical moment or like ichiro hiting 3,000
Right.. When I think of a career defining hit that and Bobby Thompson are it.
Kirk Gibson WS home run? Which one? In back to back plate appearances, he hit two game winning home runs in the World Series. That is career defining.
cdjhyoung it’s the one HR that everyone remembers him for. Walk off, pinch hit HR, when he could barely even walk. Everyone watching, including the pitcher! knew that the only way Gibson was going to get a hit was to hit it out of the park. And he did. And won the game in the process.
Please make a part two you left out some big ones
David freese game 6
Mike Piazza home run the day after 9/11
Joe carter to win World Series
Bautista vs Texas
Mark McGwire record breaking homer
Stanton’s home run deep into marlins stadium
Tyler Naisin inside the Parker
Kirk Gibson
Posey’s grand slam in 2012 nlds
Ok
@@WesleyAPEX Also Luis Gonzales walkoff single in 2001 WS Game 7.
Edgar Martinez game 5 double against the Yankees, 1995.
Ishikawa’s 2014 NLCS walkoff?
J4YB1RD I’m a cardinals fan so I don’t like mentioning that but you’re right
3:35 that was a great game though. Gotta respect both teams for the hard-fought game, but as a Reds fan, I have to respect Posey’s bomb as well.
The cop that celebrated Ortiz home run instead of helping hunter will always be hilarious
“Lindor with a swing and a drive, and it’s goooooone, Santa Maria “
2:50 oh how the mighty have fallen
7:15 I thought for a sec that noise was it hitting off his head than realized this isn’t a cartoon it’s real lol.
Geez how many great amazing videos can u make it’s unbelievable
For Chris Davis it should’ve been the hit breaking his hitless streak
What about Davis freeze in the 2011 World Series ever sense that every time he is batting against the cardinals and n St. Louis he gets a standing ovation
We’re those fans running congratulating hank for 715
Yes, I'm pretty sure.
nice work on the baseball vids keep em coming i love them its the only thing i watch on your channel
You know it’s a banger vid when the first clip gives you *chills*
Damn
Had to start with the grand slam. As a Tigers fan this broke my heart.
If I remember right. That closer lost us alot of games.
He sure did
@@tubbymcfatfuk202 if they had a competent closer back then they probably would have won at least one WS. benoit had 11 blown saves in 28 games. valverde was terrible during their WS run, too. the tigers just never put it together when it mattered most.
Hey, yeah, where's Piazza's post-9/11 home run? Feel like that's a pretty big one.
Big Papi is such a legend. You could've said his clutch moments during the '4 days in October' series and you would've also been correct.
Best idea in a while by any mlb channel. this was sick
David Freese walk off in game 6 or tying the game in the 9th
Cardinalsfan 2005 yes sir
as a rangers fan, i was so heartbroken
1:13 wow joe buck is the most boring announcer ever
I'd say worst ever. It's only topped by when he's paired with Troy Aikman. The stupid from those two is so thick you could cut it with a knife.
He's a Cards fan.. And Beltre "career defining home run" is in a World Series loss... 🤔
Sandman
Joe Suck
He had an infection in his vocal chords throughout the entirety of the 2011 World Series. If you think you can do better whilst having a vocal chord infection, take the mic and show everyone. Also, how can he be the most boring announcer ever? You dig through the video to find a call where he is not 100% and he is somewhat boring, and yet you don't acknowledge the FIRST CLIP in this video right before it, the David Ortiz grand slam where he does get excited, or his call of Rajai Davis' HR at 5:49. If you think Joe Buck's call of the Ortiz grand slam or Rajai Davis' game tying HR was boring, you must be either delusional or deaf.
Love this vid and all the videos also can you do career defining pitches
Posey’s defining hit was his 2012 NLDS game 5 grand slam on the road to bring the team from a 2-0 series deficit to the gm 5 win
Since today we have two tie breakers why not after the highlights make a video of 163 games or tie braking games
I don't think they'd allow rape on RUclips (1995 game 163 between Mariners and Angels).
1:26 Nolan Ryan the great!! You should do a video of the last pitches of all 7 of his no hitters! His whole career was nearly a highlight reel!
The fight was the best
Another great video, bro! When are you going to plan a fan meet up/happy hour so your local fans can meet you?
I’m going to the NHRA on October 5th. Anyone there can say hi
Nice compilation, a couple other possibilities:
Kirby Puckett, '91 WS
Ozzie Smith, '85 NLCS
Rick Monday, '81 NLCS
Bill Mazeroski, '60 WS
Bucky Dent, '78 vs Red Sox
Chris Burke, '05 NLDS
Sad to see Adrian Beltre being retired (I’m a Cubs fan)
at least he had two career defining moments!!
He is a legend and always will be
CHIPPER JONES!!! my most favorite player of all time lol 6:20
Larry?
This is a good collection. I would like to see Paul Konerko hitting a grand slam in the 2005 world series. They built a statue of him based on that hit. Clearly a career defining moment for him.
Great vid man. You should make a video of would be home runs that were just barely foul.
Hmm.... I wonder how Chris Davis did this year. Oh yeah, how could I forget?
I thought Khris Davis did good. Sorry wrong one ha
Its only one bad year. He'll be back next year

Sominboy27 yea my boi Chris Davis and mark trumbo world champions 2019-2025
@@sominboy2757 how's that going

Posey's was the grandslam off Matt Latos in game 5 of the 2012 playoffs. With the history between Latos and the Giants and the fact that it put the nail in the coffin of a great comeback in that series, that's his big moment imo.
Man how the hell do you find all these clips and assemble them so quickly, impressive
Is there a Best bat flips video?
I don’t think I’ve done that yet believe it or not

TeeJay LPGD Jose Bautista Number 1, Change my mind
@@htxthewild5553 he is the first person I think of when I hear of bat flips
TeeJay LPGD his bat flip can’t be matched

If the MLB lasts a thousand years, Chris Davis will still be on an island as the only player to hit 50 homers & 50 at-bats w/o a hit. Bless his heart.
Arod during the 2009 playoffs was a beast. Definitely had his career defining hits during that run
Can you do Phil Hughes running from the bullpen please?
De Santa’s home boy David Robertson not Phil Hughes
Joey Gallo shows off his power
As a big-time Red Sox fan, I greatly appreciate the video starting off with "Big Papi" hitting that granny against Detroit in the 2013 playoffs. Also, considering that Ichiro never started playing in the Major Leagues until he was 27, missing at least five prime years if not more. Had he come into the league sooner, there's no doubt WHATSOEVER that he would've challenged Pete Rose for most career hits!!!
Pretty obscure, but journeyman Chris Denorfia taking Chapman deep, dead center, first pitch, 100mph for the 2-1 walk off had to be the greatest hit of his life. Just magnificent.
ha ha Ha ha ha for all you Yankees fans out here
remember the Luis Gonzalez walk off
HAHA!! one of my favorite moments in history
Magglios walk off in the 06 alds is missing. Tiger haters!
I don’t hate any team. I made a video just on Miggy
Maglios wouldn’t be in because he is not going to be a big name guy and they wasn’t the only big thing he’s done in his career but yes I agree I is at least up there for good moments
Great video
You should consider making not just career defining hit but career defining playes. So you could have dewayne wise's perfect game saving homerun robbery
Longest opposite field homeruns please
I didnt see luis gonzalez walk off single in game 7 in 01 WS.
N9 tales cause nobody is trying to see some shitty lucky blooper
@@ProjectilePro Salty Yankees fan
Those back to back World Series appearances are so hard to look back on as a rangers fan 😭😭
OMG the end music made me think my computer was about to explode.
I hope there is a part two because you missed Ben Zobrist when he won the 2016 World Series with his hit btw I’m a cubs fan
Career defining hits, and the thumbnail shows Frank Thomas as...a Blue Jay? Da Fuq?
He hit his 500th home run as a Jay not White Sox
@@WesleyAPEX Ya 500 club is huge accomplishment.
That Posey walk-off should be the grand slam he hit in Cincinnati of Latos instead
Ahhh yes. When people think of Buster Posey’s career, they don’t think about his 3 World Series rings, his batting title, all the no hitters and perfect games he’s caught, his rookie of the year, or his MVP. They think of his walk-off home run in a game in May of 2017. A real career defining moment
Small players hitting bombs
Basically Jose Altuve and Jose Ramirez compilation
And Dustin Pedroia
Ozzie Albies
Ichiro's single season record hit shouldve been his career defining moment
John Macdonald's Father's Day home run after he lost his dad always gets me. Is there a heartfelt moments compilation?
Ain't no doubt in my mind that The Big Hurt is the "home run king" !!!
Hey wesley what do you feel about the Luis Gonzalez single? Is it too overplayed or you just didn't want to put it in?
I would argue that David Ortiz's walk off home run vs the Yankees in the 2004 ALCS was his career defining hit. At the point of the grand slam, he was already well-known.
As a Giants fan Buster Posey's biggest hit was either his grand slam in game 5 of 2012 NLDS against the Reds. Or it was his 2 run homerun vs the Tigers in game 4 of the 2012 World Series.
I say Posey's grand slam in the NLDS was bigger, but that 17 inning game was nuts too.
Need a whole video by itself just for Big Papi
The Posey hit has to be his grand slam in game 5 of the 2012 NLDS against Mat Latos. His MVP year and Latos was well hated by the Giants and fans.
Ichiro would have easily hit well over 4000 hits if he played his whole career with the MLB... What a pleasure it was to watch him play as a Texas Rangers fan...
Man, its so weird listening to a full stadium going crazy.
That David Ortiz moment is great, but either one of his walk-offs to keep Boston alive in the 2004 ALCS probably rank higher for Red Sox fans. I say this as a Braves fan that stayed up to watch that crazy comeback.
It’s a crime that Big Sexy’s home run isn’t in here
are you telling me big papi hit that grand slam 6 years ago!? time flies by too fast
My dad and I live in Southern Cali but are diehard Red Sox fans. We got to go to Big Papi’s grand slam. We sat sorta near first base. I remember how sad and boring it was. Bot 8 and down by 4. The whole park was absolutely electric in a second. It’s one feeling watching it but it’s another being there. My dad and I also went back the next day to get merch on Yawkey Way and ran into a few interviewers, so we were able to get in the paper and talk about it.
Rajai Davis at 5:50 was one of the most crazy home runs ive ever seen
Frank Thomas...all those orange jerseys in the stands...that was my youth baseball program at the game. Almost caught the homerun. I remember Thomas got tossed in this game too.
Honestly my favorite part in the first clip was the Red Sox helping the outfielder. Different team didn’t matter as long as he was getting help or was alright
Bill Mazeroski game 7, Ruth´s called shot, Fisk´s game 6, Ozzie Smith game 5, Pete Rose´ record breaker, etc
Lmao. I love how the police officer is cheering on the grand slam coming right at him
You left out Odor punching Bautista's punk ass. That was a solid, career-defining hit.
"Touch 'em Joe!", Fisk waving, Kirk Gibson '88, "The shot heard 'round the world", Ruth calling his shot, Bill Mazeroski walk off in game 7!?
3:59 Adam Dunn became a dad that day
Are you kidding me??? Baseball should've start in April! Listen to those crowds! They sound so beautiful! 🗣🗣🗣🗣
love the videos. How about players that became manager highlights.
Deserves a part 2, a ton of great hits left out, like (pardon my bias) joe Carter
5:48 I remember when this homer made me cry
You had the last laugh though
