What tips and tricks do you have that saves you money at the grocery store?

  • @KristanKremer

Green bell peppers are always cheaper because in general farmers can get more of them. They're the same as red bell peppers, they're just not ripe yet. So to get red/yellow/orange, you have to leave the green ones on the plant longer. But if you pick them green, the plan will make more peppers in the same time it takes to get a single colorful one. Just some random trivia if you find this stuff interesting! lol

You wouldn't have gotten $10 off unless your total was $125 AFTER all your other digital coupons went through. Yes I know because it's happened to me lol. I'm a little obsessed with kroger deals though! My favorite thing is to stack clearance and coupon deals!

We did an impromptu Labor Day road trip. I "shopped my shelves" for road snacks/drinks and hotel breakfasts (we had a room frig). All I had to get from the store was 1/2 gallon of milk and 4 yogurt cups. So great to be prepared.

I love the weekly digital coupons, but there definitely was a learning curve in my house!
Sometimes when my husband is shopping without me he will text me so I can clip the coupons from home where we have better internet. Then I give him the all clear to check out. 😂

I have noticed the wrong products with the wrong pricing a lot lately. I also don’t like digital coupons. It takes forever to go thru them. I feel if you scan you store card, you should be entitled to the best price

I also don't like the digital coupons. I know it may be rare that someone doesn't have a cell phone, but many elderly people on a fixed income may not be able to afford a cell phone--much less a smart phone. I voiced my concern once and got a very condescending call from the store manager attempting to 'explain' it to me.

Wow, I saw in the beginning of your video that store had powered for 77 cents that is awesome. All summer the cheapest price was 1.oo and then you had to buy 5. So whenever I saw that I was able to get 15 at a time. My husband works outside so he uses at least one a day.

Save your ad, and next time you go show them your receipt with the ad and tell them you didnt see that when you shopped, i bet they will give it to you. Cant hurt. Kroger likes to make people happy so you will shop there. $10 is worth your patronage for them. Let me know what they say.

Where I live if you scan an item and it comes up as a higher price than the tag on the shelf and you can prove it to the register staff who go and check it themselves, you get that item for free. That makes them very vigilant about the tags on the shelf.

5:25 When I run into this issue, I use my Smith’s app to scan the barcode to check the price. Most store apps have a barcode scanner to show you the updated price. Also, I do this at Smith’s even if I put something not on my list in my cart, because the coupons pop up on the app too. 😁

I think that they would have to honor at least the Ricotta cheese price because they mislabeled the tag. BUT that means you have to go through a whole thing at the sales desk, not really worth the hassle, although they SHOULD be made to fix it. You should send their headoffice a link to this video! They can then see how they appear to be intentionally misleading people and that they have been found out by you and your 385k subscribers! :)

I need to get to this point. I go into the stores and get overwhelmed with shopping and price marking. I don't know all the prices so I am writing them down while I shop. Or I use my recipe when I get home but most of that is sale prices. I now live in a small town, half hour or more from Walmart, Kroger or Aldi's. I shop locally a lot! Two small town stores with high prices. One is a Save a Lot, but still, I am seeing high prices. I need to get better at the price thing. Thank you!

Fine print--yes I learned my lesson on Kroger cheese. Digital coupon is one per card, so you can only use once during the sale. I purchased two one day, and was going back to max out the limit of 5, and got charged full price. I had to go talk to my friendly CS lady to explain how this worked. Never again Kroger, I learned my lesson LOL

    • @danniemcdonald7675
      @danniemcdonald7675 11 месяцев назад

Actually, the digital coupons, according to the ad (buy 5 or more save$1) are good per transaction. So you could go every day. The ones that can ce used UP TO 5 can be used. I think, just once but you have to buy them in one transaction. That's what the cashier told me last month when peaches were on DC use up to 5 times. I had bought about 8 pounds and asked if the sale price only pertained to 5 pounds. She said in that case it was a one-time-only situation (one transaction). So, I could have bought as many as I wanted as long as it was just once. Hope that helps.

Usually if you get the ricotta mislabeled one and take it to the register they will honor it then fix it so they don’t have anyone else bring one up. I did a garbage can I wanted like that. They had a stock boy check and he said they are in the wrong place so she let me have it for the cheaper price. If they make mistakes or do it intentionally they are supposed to give it to you for the price showing and this is at most stores.

Always a good deal to look up that fine print. And don't feel bad for putting something back. If It's not the right deal, get your money back. I didn't get my cartwheel deal on nuts the other day, and rather than they lose the sale of the 4 items, the service desk did a refund for the right amount. I bought nuts, and the ones I got for some reason were excluded, even though the app said no exclusions.
I think the best place for aluminum pans would be Sharp Shopper. The pans were cheaper than the cost of dish soap, like UNBELEIVABLY cheap. I got pans around 1/4 sheet pan (but deep) for $.39. I was going to a picnic and grabbed some thinking I would need it for my foods, but ended up just serving it from my roaster pan. But these will work great at the holidays. They also had those little bitty pans you can use to make small loaves of bread to give to people, like banana nut or zucchini bread.

I don’t think the placement of the price stickers is any kind of a mistake. I’ve noticed over and over again, stock that costs much much more in the place where the less expensive items should be, or every item that is expensive will have a price ticket but not the ones that are less. I’m sure that grocery stores are seeing a loss on high ticket items that People can’t afford so they take advantage of people rushing and not reading what the price ticket says.

Me too. It is so frustrating. I tried to download my stores app and still haven't figured it out. Ugh.

It’s true that we want to save on groceries but it has become so complicated and not everybody has time to do all that price checking 😥

Go back to customer service. Even if they can’t give you cash, sometimes they put a credit on your loyalty card for use on your next order.

I don’t think you would have gotten the $10 because you hit $98 not $125. They will probably only apply that AFTER the coupons come off. (At least that’s what CVS does..)

It's really sad when we have to compromise our privacy just to get a sale

Stores say, “we can’t keep up with the price changes and the stickers.” In my opinion the are lying and are just trying to make more money. If it is in their favor they are slow but if they are losing money bet your bottom they would fix it quick enough.
