"But God commendeth His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us, much more then being now justified by his blood we shall be saved from wrath through him." Romans 5:8-9
Okay so I just wanted to leave some info here in case anyone else was as dumbfounded as I was. I could not fathom why God would have closed Abimelech's household's wombs when he had just said he knew Abimelech was innocent and of clean conscience. It did not make any sense. If God knew Abimelech hadn't touched her because He'd made sure of it... Well, in that case, why are these innocent women who were victims of the lie being punishment? What have they done? As it turns out (after much research), it wasn't punishment against them or even against Abimelech for taking Sarah into his house. It was insurance. At that point, Abimelech hadn't returned Sarah to Abraham, so there was still that off chance that Abimelech might choose to sin and take her as his wife anyway (so to speak). As soon as Sarah was returned to Abraham, their wombs were opened again. All part of the promise and God's penchant for using the people he created from dust to fulfill that promise. :) Just wanted to pass it along for anyone else who might wonder what was happening. This series is wonderful and I look forward to it every single day. It's been a blessing in my life and it's directly responsible for helping me get myself saved... at 40... after years of denial. Keep up the good work! God bless you all!
Pastor Skip, you mentioned your son Nate.. yes it’s such a joy when our children grow & desire & love the Word of God. Wow praise God giving him a personal experience of ‘walking with God’ as you drove him around,
When I wait a long time for God's promise to me, I forget what he promised then suddenly He brings it and reminds me that it was the very one I prayed about.
Television was invented the same year my grandmother was born. That's funny about the original XFL though. I might be the only person in America that watched and enjoyed every game.
There is a living 82 year old woman who lives in Canada. She is a rancher. She looks like she is in her 40's. She is carnivore. Her 2nd husband is 65. He looks older then she.
I wondered that also, but I think in Gen 16 maybe he goes over it. She was very beautiful and would have been taken by force from Abraham in the culture at the time (not a sister though). Something like that.

I still make references to “He Hate Me” from the original league!

Day #15 3/26/2023
When I read chapter 20 I was mad like “y Abraham lying again?” .... Now I got it tho
@41:00
Chapter 21.
Why did Abraham lie twice that Sarah was his sister?
I wondered that also, but I think in Gen 16 maybe he goes over it. She was very beautiful and would have been taken by force from Abraham in the culture at the time (not a sister though). Something like that.
