"Parents: think this through"(and some more) part gave me a great bunch to chew on! Me, being a defective material, I find great ecouragement in all this long story since Abraham! Thank You, Lord! And thank you again, pastor! Many blessings!!
42:35-43:25 is exactly why I've been in an unequally yoked marriage for the last ten years. If any young ladies happen to be reading this and are thinking about marrying someone who shows even the slightest red flag that their faith may not be genuine, RUN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. There are very good reasons why God does not want us to be unequally yoked.
Pastor Skip.. thank you for sharing valuable insights from God’s Word. Apart from the blessing received.... liked the connection we have on arranged marriages & dowry!!
@@dorothysampathkumar6340 I feel love is so important but come to think of it what has man ever chosen? We don't choose our parents, siblings, workmates, schoolmates, churchmates. We just find them and choose from among them.
As an indian who has seen arranged marriages around people I know of, yes the divorce rates are low- but the cost of it is that in some cases the families dont opt to divorce just because of what society will think even if the marriage is toxic and not working at all, or some families do it for selfish monetary gains and make sure there is no divorce because they get financial benefits from the marriage and put that first
The reason why Jacob said- ok, Esau, I will follow you to Seir- and then went in an opposite direction, is that Jacob knew his brother's oath to kill him and the fact that it didnt happen, was an amazing grace showed to him by God. God provided that miracle of reconciliation, but its quite clear that it was special case and if Jacob moved to live alongside with Esau, sooner or later old wounds would pop back up and things would get really ungly. So though Jacobs action/choice to go another way was not honest per se, but it completely makes sense and again, I see no ill intention here to do evil or harm to Esau or anything alike.
Hi pastor. I enjoy your teachings. I am blind. Just strugling to find your teachings from 1 to 50 in order. Just wondering why God sed that He hated Esau and loved Jacob?
Thank you! Have to disagree on deceiving Laban- I'd say that working for uncle Laban was God's bootcamp for Jacob (gradually changing a supplanter Jacob's heart and mind- him getting the taste of his own medicine, learning to trust God in hard and unreliable circumstances while being under the boss who tries to screw you on the deal all the time). The only deception from JAcob was that he went away from Laban without him knowing that and even that was without an ill intent.
Love your praching. Notes; 1. The lawlessness of people in leadership and their children. Even in church it's happening. 2. Dianah is an innocent teenager and unfortunately many do not recognise the pain women go through as a result of rape. Women are seeing as objects. The church worldwide is going through tough times due to weak pastors and leaders. Many blame women's dressing but we must know that many of don't dress well are agents of the devil. Men have to learn to look away because the devil is also in business. He is looking for whom to devour. Women need to also be alert and keep children under check. 3. Many men respond to their sisters being rape with terrible anger. They know the pain I have seen this. That is when they understand the terribleness of rape. 4. Jacob suffers silently and behaves the way a stranger behaves in a foreign land. He could no longer live there. 5. The children needed to control their temper. Blood shedding has a way of following us.
You did! Man, I love it. He's making himself right at home. Calvary always says the Church is a living room on their Wednesday night bible studies. That feller sure did take that seriously, didn't he?
"He put the female servants and their children in front, Leah and her children next, and Rachel and Joseph in the rear. 3 HE HIMSELF WENT ON AHEAD and bowed down to the ground seven times as he approached his brother." - Jacob obviously didnt hide behind his family or household to escape if things go south while meeting his brother Esau. Instead he bowed down willingly making himself totally vulnerable, while trusting himself and his family to God and His promises. No offence, no lecturing here, Im in no position to teach, but this just stood out too much, so please be precise, pastor Heitzig! God bless you and keep you, brother!
I found Jesus in iran when i was 16 , and since then my life changed our god is healer and greater than any other

The "joke" about "someone in the kitchen" is horrible. One should never joke about rape.
Think of it not as a joke...an expression.
Love your praching.

33chapter Genesis
Am from INDIA, am recently married, that is arranged marriage...i saw my wife at my marriage only...
What's the problem. If she loved u and you people are loyal towards each other (mentioned in Holy scripts) then it's perfect.
