Same here ,I've heard preachers say to disregard the old testament ,even though the Bible say it was written for an example , therefore we should always consult the old testament to see how GOD deal with certain situations.even in our own Life.❤
I have never considered the concept that every born again believer is actually a miracle......thieves ....murderers...liars....adulterers....drunkards ...gamblers ...people who lived in every kind of sin ( and I include myself here ) have repented and turned to the LORD. I noticed that in 20:16 even though God told Abimelek they were married he still refered to Abraham as Sarah's brother. Whats the reason for that? Also in 20:6 God said He prevented abimelek from sinning. Is this a real example of "God will never give you more than you can handle" by withholding the opportunity of temptation?
I interpreted it to mean that God prevented Abimelek from having sexual relations with Sarah through physical barriers like inhibiting him from getting an erection.
Marriage is a Holy Covenant That May Not Be Broken. Only when One Is Dead. In This Modern Time... people dont care because of their lack of knowledge or because of their Evil Hearts.
Also the fact that back then they didn't have scriptures, they didn't have anything to confirm that what they were doing was bad, because X,Y and Z they couldn't study the word like us they had to get that teaching directly from God... therefor God had more mercy upon them
I'm 52years old ,and I'm asking GOD FOR A MARRIAGE ,I LOVE THIS STORY ,IT SHOWS THAT GOD PROMISES ARE ENDLESS.
I've been told that old testament is kind of pointless to learn. I've found the exact opposite from watching your genesis series. Thank you so much.
Anyone who tells you that ANY, part of the bible is “pointless to learn” they are either intentionally deceiving you, or exceedingly ignorant..🙃

Abraham and Sarah had the same father, but different mother's (Gen 20:12)

It's so confusing to me that Abraham lied and God blessed him with more than he ever had.
That's the faithfulness of God, He does what He says “The Lord is faithful to ALL His promises and loving toward ALL He has made” Psalm 145:13.
