AMAZING Annecy Paragliding Flight | In 10 MINUTES To Cloudbase

- My last paragliding flight in Annecy was absolutely amazing. I got some strong 5 m/s second thermals and I reached the cloudbase in just 10 minutes. Paragliding in Annecy was one of my best experiences on my 3800 km cycling journey through Europe.

After flying 2 times in Annecy the day before, I spent the night in the tent and next morning, I took the shuttle to bring me to Planfait, which is a small take off site. Once I arrived there, I met a group of pilots and I hiked up the mountain to the launch site ''col des fretes'' together with them. I reached the launch site 30 minutes before them and I had time to enjoy the beautiful view over the landscape. I had to wait more than 2 hours from the moment I arrived, until I finally took off. The cloudbase was very low at first, but with time it got higher. I managed to catch some strong thermals and I reached the cloudbase in a bit less than 10 minutes. Enjoy watching!

There is a lot to tell and show about this epic bike journey. I've had very beautiful and exciting moments but also moments of pain, frustration and misery. Traveling on bike for such long distances teaches you who you really are, what you really want in life and what you are made of.

Excellent video, excellent vibes! Thank you for the great experience! Keep the videos coming! Bravo, felicitari ptr tot!
O sa continui sa postez cam intr-o luna. Sunt in Grecia acum si nu pot edita deocamdata 😅. Apreciez suportul
Great flight 🎉
I appreciate that, man. Thank you 🙏
Love this video. Going to be there next Monday to fly also. Subscribed and looking forward to your content.
That's really cool, dude 🤙🏼 I wish you lots of fun in Annecy and thank you for subscribing and watching. I appreciate 🙏🏼
The noise the paraglider makes always gives me great thrills...❤
That's pretty cool, true 😉 ❤
There's really something about the flights over Annecy!! The proximity to the clouds and the angle of the cameras definitely have much to do with it. And of course, your enthusiasm! This particular video made it feel like I was paragliding too!! A couple great shots of you looking up with the blue blue lake below!! Great camera work!!! Lovely lovely video❗️👍
I totally agree, Florence! Yeah, my enthusiasm was off the roof 😄I have a couple of flights from a couple of years ago, where I am surrounded by clouds. If you want to see the video, here you go: ruclips.net/video/cBIvYNxcOf8/видео.html . I was really stoked 😅
Yes, Annecy lake's water was surreal, so blue like in the caribbean... it reminded me of Jamaica or Zanzibar. Thank you so much for appreciating my work and watching... as always, I appreciate that 🙏
@@Dvybz Just a reminder: you are not allowed to fly to cloud base above 1000m from ground but leave a 300m separation for VFR rules... Safe flights!
@@theeyeinthecloud I know, that was a very long time ago. Thanks tho 😉
Amazing flight and great insight! Wanna be there 🤟
Thanks a lot, Sandra 🙏 It's great to hear that you enjoyed the flight. The view is a killer! ❤ In the previous video, I flew in the same region, just a different take off site... pretty dope flight as well 🤘. Take care!
Nice "save" to the LZ there :)
I thought tho, you would cross the lake then take the "escalator" fly over Doussard, to Col de la Forclaz and then back to Planfait. That would've been something :D
Btw. when I crossed tha lake, I used half bar and C-Steering... It's way better in terms of glide.
😂 Oh, buddy... I would be really happy if that would work. No matter what I do and how I fly, I lose a lot of altitude whenever I cross anything and I don't have wind from the back. I tried in the previous flight to take the escalator and it was "out of order" to say the least 😅. I was steering with the C's too when I was crossing, but like I said, I could have continued flying straight forward, following the group, eventually/possibly find some thermals and fly back, or go left to the escalator, try to find the lift and do what you said. My problem is that, if I had bombed out somewhere across the lake in some freaking field, I would have needed at least 3 hours to walk back. I know I could have tried to ask for directions, take the bus or whatever... I just wanted to land back at the bicycle. You know, I don't really care if I land in the middle of nowhere and I have to walk ages back, but not when I want to cycle 100 km right after 😅. Thanks a lot for the C's advice tho... It is very helpful 👍🏼
@@Dvybz I'm feelin' you :)
Maybe it's time to upgrade the glider ;)
@@LukeSchneider Totally! I am working on that. I hate when people say that the glider doesn't play that much of a role... But the pilot. I agree 100% that the pilot plays a big role, but let's take someone who flies an Enzo 3 for example, and give them my En-A glider and see how far they reach 🤣.... Oh boy!
@@Dvybz yes, but put someone who flies an En-A on an Enzo 3 and their life would be in danger. You have to work up slowly. I’m almost 2.5 years in and still flying an En-A, just flew 20k on Sunday, my longest flight to date, im taking it slow but it’s the journey that is the thrill, and the destination, well, we will probably never get to a “destination” because our goals and aspirations will continue to grow.
Great video, I really enjoyed it but please don't use brakes and speedbar at the same time. If you go on bar, keep your brakes in your hands but use the rear risers for control. Using brakes and speedbar at the same time really increases the risk of a collapse. Have fun and stay safe!
Thanks a lot! Happy knowing you enjoyed the flight and the video, man 😉. I understand that using brakes and speedbar at the same time wouldn't be a great idea. First of all it would make no sense and second of all, just like you said, it would increase the risk of collapse. I know in the video it looks as if I am using the brakes while using the speedbar and a couple of other people told me kinda the same in some other videos. The thing is, that I really don't use the brakes 😅 It just looks like that... seriously. I have the brakes maybe one inch lower than the brake coil and it has no effect on the wing. I might have indeed pulled the brakes a bit lower, without noticing... but other than that, I am just having the brake handles in my hands, without pulling down. I will try to use the rear risers in the future, thanks a lot for the comment and advice 👍
Cool, very nice, however, you should have gone for a huge xc!!! That would be amazing
I wish I could have done it, man. I really do. My problem was really the fact, that if I wouldn't have found any thermals anymore and landed on the other side of the lake, far away I would've had to walk back for ages. Next time when I will have such an opportunity, I will go XC no matter what 😅. Thanks for watching... I have a bunch of videos if you like to check them out 👍🏼
@@Dvybz yea, i get that feeling, its good that you fly safe, always the priority, but have faith, like a friend told me, if you look up, you go up, if you look down, well...
I will definitely watch your other videos. Good content, Keep it up man!
@@PsychyFunkyMonkey That's a nice saying, I will keep that in mind. Thanks for taking your time and watching my adventures, man. Much appreciated 🙏🏼
I couldn’t imagine flying in air smooth enough to let go of the toggles lol, it’s quite turbulent where I fly, it’s nice though, we get 6 m/s climbs pretty regularly
Beautiful video by the way!!🤌
That sounds like a dream to me... 6 m/s is absolutely awesome 😍. Happy you enjoyed the video, man. Thanks a lot 👍
