      Eastern style fighting is pretty much quite brutal,but it is controlled,more or less. You can see why many people use dane axes in eastern style line fights and duels,just aim for the top of the helmet...

      Except, there's no blood here, and people in real life don't just "go down" and "die" when struck by a sword, axe or spear.

I hope to stand in the line in the comming years 👍🏻 the guy standing around with ptsd is shocking to look , how often does this happen? I knew from the researchs that you also can get kind of a claustrophopic shock while in full hema armors while fighting with less oxy in the closed helmets. Greetings from Switzerland guys !

    Hi, I have a question.
    How did you set up the camera and where did you place it?

    • @TwimeGoPro
      @TwimeGoPro  Год назад +1

      I strapped it right on top of my helmet, it is quite in the open so it might take a beating especially if you get struck by a hard vertical axe blow
      I rigged mine with the default gopro straps, some people did more stealthy cameras on the side of the helmet, even under chainmail so it i less notoceable

    • @Samurai_q2
      @Samurai_q2 Год назад

      @@TwimeGoPro Can the camera be hung around the neck under the chin? Will it be disturbing?

    • @TwimeGoPro
      @TwimeGoPro  Год назад +1

      @@Samurai_q2 If you're using just a nasal helmet it could be done I suppose but 1. I've never seen such a rig and 2. Your neck will be unarmored if you want to keep the cam there
      Some people use only nasal helmets and not a coif so they are unarmored on the neck anyway, though I wouldn't recommend it
      A chest rig or a on-the-side-of-the-helmet type cam I would say are the most recommendable.

    I seriously am confused by the rules of this sport. How do you have open faced helms and no one gets hurt? Is this all scripted?

    • @TwimeGoPro
      @TwimeGoPro  7 лет назад +8

      Thrusting is completely forbidden with swords and axes, whereas spears are allowed only to thrust the torso
      It's also forbidden to stab into the neck
      The rules make it less realistic but more safe, and are fine as they are in my view

    • @FrostofNorth
      @FrostofNorth 7 лет назад

      Are safety gorgets mandatory? I saw a few strikes that landed pretty close to some fighter's necks and if they were to seriously connect, that's a broken collarbone easy. I fight in the ACL and just get confused when I see open faced helms, lol.

    • @FrostofNorth
      @FrostofNorth 7 лет назад

      Like at 0:52, He has an open face helm and essentially smacks him in the face. Is that legal?

    • @TwimeGoPro
      @TwimeGoPro  7 лет назад +4

      The equipment and weapons are checked by judges before the event begins, they are mostly guidelines though since the armor is pretty individual and unique~ on most people. The bottom line is that everyone attending trusts their own equipment, knows how to use it and accepts the risk of accidents. People are mostly courteous with the hits, if they see an unguarded opening that they are almost certain of hitting, they will mark it with a solid hit instead of an all-out power smash :j
