“I’m saying if you’re a bronze player it’s not because your aim is garbage but because you make the wrong decisions” wow ladies and gentlemen, Awkward ✅👌🏻
Damn. That title's too real. His opening statement is 100% accurate. Everywhere you go in the OW community people are yelling at each other over who's got the "easiest" role.
I will say a lot of people say DPS is easy because it’s just aim, but that’s just it you need to have good aim, preferably better aim than people you are fighting.
Well I'd argue if you have better positioning but worse aim you can compensate by using cover more efficiently and have a solid chance against the other player
I would argue tank is the hardest role with some of the easiest characters, and here’s why -Tank has the largest health pools -Damage numbers that can outdo dps (lol) and of course supports -Some of the best mitigation abilities in the game, like Zarya bubble (cleanses and protects) and Roadhog rebreather (mitigates damage and self heals) -DPS, or damage, get the luxury of only needing to kill, and not needing to heal or take space for the team (but flankers such as reaper and sombra help make great space for the team) Hanzo and Tracer are examples of respected characters that pump out massive damage, but take time to learn in order to play them properly -Supports primary function is healing, but helping with damage/kills ensures that the healing actually works and people don’t die when you don’t look at them/die through healing. Supports have been criticized for having the strongest synergies in the game, and still angers the player base with abilities like Immortality field/ Suzu which deny kills and can stop losable team fights. But of course, Supports still have incredibly skill based characters. Ana, for example, requires you to not only land all her abilities, but to be able to consistently shoot your teammates and enemies But why Tank? If they have the best health pools, great damage, and great mitigation abilities, why would it be the hardest role? Because as of 2024, Overwatch is in a 1 Tank, 2 DPS, 2 Supports for each team format. The Tank is often credited for taking space, and often being the first to walk onto the battlefield if it isn’t a flanker type. As the only Tank of the team, they take the brunt of the enemy team’s attacks, which could include a myriad of stuns, boops, and ailments which could zap the tank’s health instantly without any consideration The tradeoff is Tanks themselves are easier characters (most of them in my opinion). Ramattra, for example, can mitigate a lot of abilities with his 1000 hp shield, and when he is in Nemesis form, he can block a lot of enemy fire assuming he takes into account what the enemy team does Of course there is no “easy” role, because then everyone would be Grandmaster. But with the idea 1 single Tank needs to take the brunt of it all, while no longer having his second Tank buddy, you cannot say all the roles are “equally as hard”, but that’s my opinion
Damage can seem hard because you got to have decent mechanics. Tank can seem hard cause you got to have good game sense. Support can seem hard because you are relying on your team more often than other roles.
I love your content man. I have to imagine that youve read the book Extreme Ownership at some point by Jocko? Kind of curious if you like any Robert Greene books like Mastery or things like that?
I’m just gonna say it as it is in terms of winning a fight, creating space and ability cool-down management. Tanks the hardest, support is hard and dps is the easiest 🤷♂️
Skill translated in a video game requires many things but AIM is the most powerful skill you can have in a shooter, as long as you have a BASIC understanding of the game. We can argue over semantics for eternity but there is little denying that aim is critical. Yes you need ALL the traits of a good player in order to excel at the highest levels. But if you cant hit widow shots, sleep nanoed genji's, confirm kills with McCree, land shots with Zen or beam down kids with rail, how do you win? Aim = damage Damage = Kills - Your number one rule is what? DAMAGE and when your done doing DAMAGE what do you do next? MORE DAMAGE. If you cant aim, you don't do DAMAGE.
He never said it wasn't important. He just said it wasn't as important. Which is true in OW. Aim gets better overtime, game sense is something you have to focus on improving. Bad habits are way worse than bad aim.
@@Supremesayain99That could be true, but it doesn't explain the players who spend hours on the game and still remain in bronze (despite running aim trainers, watching aim tip videos for finding their sens) yet still struggling to stay consistent between sessions. I think THAT was what the 1st question was about as well as what the OP here is on about. They want pointers on how to try to stabilize their consistency for situations they have decent positioning and take advantageous engagements... but then they whiff everything giving away their primo position bc they couldn't add concrete value.
If that was true soldiers visor would be the most OP ult in the game…. Added: To show another example ( I know its a bit over the top example, but just for the idea): 100% accuracy while standing on payload as soldier only being able to shoot at what happens to be in front of you (mostly tank), or 60% accuracy and taking off angles, denying/claiming space on highground and shoot at the targets YOU CHOSE and NEED to shoot? For example, you can actually see and shoot the ones in bad position with 100HP left as they try to get to a safer spot, but since you are off angling their escape from your teams damage is right into the line of sight from your off angle? You know, he screaming there is a soldier flanking, their supports have to chose between getting away from your line of sight and stop healing the frontline or keep healing the tank u till you kill them. All that kind of stuff. A sombra can occupy 5 peoples mind by just appearing on the tab screen without even shooting a single shot. Everyone has to be aware all the time minding that they stay togethet a bit more and not being to far isolated from the team, so people pay more attention to that instead of just blindly play the corners and spots they usually play, making the game very uncomfortable etc etc. Aim is important, but being an actual threat that is not easy to avoid is even better. If a soldier is flanking I dont have the time to remember what his accuracy is, I only think: This can kill me so i need to do something. And that something is most often not the thing I had in mind when I thought i had all the time in the world before the enemy soldier showed up.
@@truuskikomo5227 I think you under estimate how bad some people's aim can be. I guess it can be attributed to settings and maybe also other mental factors as well as the RNG that happens in matches. You can take a long flank on Colesseo to get high ground above where an enemy poke comp or backline in general may be standing... but it doesn't mean they'll be positioned away from the cover of the pillars down the main hallway. Things like this make the shots vary in difficulty especially with the increased time to kill. Basically, some shots will be harder than others and just because you're in Gold doesn't mean the other Gold players can't have a better consistency in their shots even if counter attacking your flank from a disadvantageous position. I do agree game sense is more important but I don't think that just because you take the high ground/flank, it's gunna help the looming issue which is shitting the bed on your shots. They need to die for you get value and when your teammates aren't providing extra help to secure the kill in dmg dmg dmg, it's ALL up to you which is FINE but it would be nice if Awkward actually could help us move towards better aim too. I don't think there's nothing he can tell us. Maybe not console players but at least people getting into PC.
do you feel like there's any way you can improve your message? are you holding yourself accountable? is the only option being an asshole versus being fluffy or is there a more elegant way to deliver these harsh truths?

Dps is easy because it's the simplest to understand; you kill stuff and follow up on team plays to kill stuff faster. Tank is hard because of 5v5 but that's a different topic. In short, it's hard to shuffle all the damage that two tanks are supposed to be taking. Supports are in the middle because while yes their primary objective is to support the team through healing and / or utility which is very easy since most forms of it are AoE / tracking, it's also hard in the sense that you are the enemy's number 1 target and healing can occasionally get quite stressful if there are a lot of critical hp teammates at once. No role is strictly easy or hard, they all have their easy and hard parts, but people tend to only focus on one of them

Nah, you can also be bronze because of your potato aim. Potato aim + game sense of a rock = Bronze 5
Except my aim is garbage along with my bad decisions not a good combo 😂
