*Hello 3D Printing Friends!* This video applies to Creality's Ender-3 and Ender-3 Pro printers with *8-bit main boards* only. If you've bought an Ender-3 or Ender-3 Pro RECENTLY, check the board revision before following along with this video. *If your printer has a v4.2.2 or a v4.2.7 main board, these are 32-bit main boards.* The firmware upgrade process for 32-bit boards is *_completely_* different (see *_How to Update the Firmware on the Ender-3 V2_* here ruclips.net/video/BI269XHyAFg/видео.html). Thanks, and happy printing! 👍
I appreciate your video a ton, I bought a v4.2.7 board that appears to not have the bootloader working properly and a lot of the people on the reviews on amazon for the listing I bought had the same issue it seems so I have been attempting to re install the bootloader on the board as it is currently stuck on version 1.1.6 and will not .... I have used about 20 different SD cards ranging from 1 gig to 64gig and formated both with fat and fat32 I spent a lot of time and did everything to the T, your video at least got me on the right track I feel, I hope I get this over with finally though.... I have a older ender 3 pro v1 that was upgraded....
UPDATE :
in case anyone has a issue with a 4.2.7 board that honestly is not updating, this has helped me resolve the issue. I did have to get a little hacky with things however and modify content..honestly might just end up getting another board any way as this has just been a big disappointment and I don't trust it...
What if i have an ender 3-pro with an upgraded motherboard thats v4.2.7? Then what do i watch in order to upgrade the firmware
I know this is an older video, and you probably won't see this, but thank you. I got a BLTouch like 6 months ago and originally tried to follow this tutorial to update my firmware and whatnot. However, there was something wrong with the USBasp that I had bought, and it sent me down a rabbit hole for a couple weeks trying desperately to figure out what was wrong. I looked everywhere. Even Reddit couldn't help me. The problem doesn't matter now, because I eventually dropped it and neglected my printer until about a week ago. I went over everything again, trying to figure out what was wrong with a fresh perspective, and eventually noticed that the USBasp I was using and the one I saw in tutorials was different. The one I had came with the BLTouch and was less complex. The point is, I eventually hit f*ck it and bought what turned out to be the same one you recommended. When I tested it however, my heart sank. More errors. Different ones this time, but still aggravating. After tinkering for about an hour, I decided to come back here, where this all started for me, and reassure I was doing everything correctly.
I had the 6 pin adapter plugged in facing the wrong direction.
Bootloader was burnt on properly first try this time. Thank you. I still have to properly flash the firmware and whatnot, but I had to stop right after that success to get this out somehow. I am so, unbelievably relieved to finally move on with this. Makes me wonder if the BLTouch will be worth it. Thanks for the guide man.
I have found a god among mortal men... thank you! I have been having the worst luck with the ender 3 pro. I bought it new out of the box, it came with the 4.2.2 board with the bad chip. After fully assembling it, I managed to erase the firmware on it by accident. Took me about a month to find new working firmware for it. I printed about six things and then due to hard to explain circumstances, shut off my 3D printer mid print which destroyed the motor controller. A year later (just recently), I bought a brand new 4.2.7 board and am still having issues with the firmware. I even got the touch sensor and LED touch screen too. I have been fiddling with it for about a week with zero progress. Somehow, I got it to a point where I could run some basic functions, but the Z axis didn't work and now I can't even get back to that screen. The Z axis motor would go up but now down and zeroing everything causes it to get stuck in an endless loop when trying to lower.
Needless to say, I am ready to try anything and the boot loader being borked is my last best guess as to what the issue is before I break down and just buy a brand new printer.
Any help or suggestions by anyone would be greatly apricated! Also, I know its not the SD card, bought a brand new 32 GB card and am re-formatting it with rufus now just to be sure.
Thank you so much! My 3d printers been a brick for 3 weeks because i decided to upgrade my voxelab aquila c2 with a creality v4.2.7 silent motherboard and i didnt know i needed to install a bootloader and install marlin on my own. I though it was just a plug and play... boy was i wrong! But thank you so much, after work today i should havemy printer back up and running! Thank you again!!!
BEST GUIDE ON THE INTERNET!! After unsuccessfully trying to install my BLTouch for over a week, this guide actually worked!! Thank you so much!!
I cannot begin to thank you enough for the help. I sat for about 6 hours trying different methods to get this to work. Your's is the only one that actually worked and got me where I needed to be. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
That is probably one of the best videos explaining how to burn bootloader and load firmware on the Ender I have seen, I have already sorted my Ender 3's but it will help many who are still struggling, great work Bryan with a Y, regards RobUK
Hi Rob, and thank you! (Sorry I'm a little behind on replying to comments.) 😬
Its great to see someone make such a comment ..... on my way to sub you right now ! 👍👍👍☮☮☮
This guide got me through upgrading my Ender 3 Pro. The Sanguino link is much appreciated. Thanks
Hi Brian You may be pleased to hear I finally got to install the firmware.
After many hours of head scratching I found I was doing nothing wrong in the setup but a brand new usb cable was faulty.
After reading literally hundreds of problems from fellow newbies who were having setting up the same thing I was it became clear to me that they may be having the same problem I encountered.
Maybe in future some high profile 3d presenters could do a segment on what can go wrong in a setups and how to fix it.
Unfortunately a lot of presenters limited by time gloss over the installation thinking that everyone already knows all about it.
It would be great to have a presenter with all the good attributes of Dr Vax, Teaching Tech, Crosslink, Makers Muse and of course yourself to cover everything.
Any way keep the good work.
Half the fun in learning is to see what everyone is doing, taking a bit from each and working out what works best.
Regards
Ernie from Australia (A happy Ender 3 Pro owner not the unhappy owner of a Brick)
Hi Ernie, I'm so glad you got that working. I would *never* have thought to change out the USB cable! I usually think that either a cable works or it doesn't, and when it doesn't -- well, _NOTHING_ happens. But clearly cables can fail in weird ways, causing issues only some of the time and making the problems they cause _that much harder_ to figure out! Good on you for sticking with it and for trying a new cable! 👍
Best video ever solving the issue that original creality one could not. THANK YOU!
Bro after so much research this video is exactly what i needed. You're my fn hero THANK YOU
Been printing on an original Ender 3 for some time now, wondered how to do this with firmware. very much appreciated. Thank you for going the extra mile to explain in easy to understand terminology. BIG thumbs up 👍👍👍☮☮☮
Great walk through Bryan, it will be invaluable to newcomers 👍
Thanks, Spike! 😀
Best step-by-step instructions I’ve seen.
such great info Bryan! I am sure tons of people will benefit from your knowledge and clear instructions!
Thanks, Peter! I'm hoping it's useful! 🙂
Perfect tutorial, thanks Bryan!! I had an upload error but after some panicking, I found out the USB cable I was using was not up to snuff.
very good detailed video. lots of videos didn't fix my issue but this one has fixed my issue. thanks a lot sir. keep doing this great job.
Glad it helped! 👍
Excellent step-by-step process to follow if you're upgrading your printer's firmware. In my case, I had just upgraded the printer with an Ender Extender kit and needed to adjust the build volume in the firmware, which this allowed me to do. Thanks!
Ah, cool! With the Ender Extender, did you go tall, wide, or both? 👍
@@BV3D Biggest they sell. 400 x 400 x 500
In my case, the maximum build volume I could *use* was 390 x 390 x 480. Any larger and the print head bumped into the display / frame.
Thanks so much for super clear and easy to understand video! its hard find a video like these, all the best! :)
Very well spoken, clear and concise directions! Thank you!
Thank you for explaining this to new folks. Everyone else show the Arduino IDE but no one explains where to get it or why I need it.
thanks for the detailed videos with links!! It helps a lot
You're welcome! 👍
So after installing the skr on my pro with your other video i had enough confidence to try this out. Again dude, thank you. I bought an arduino kit and walked through it with this video. I love that you do mac based. I know its the same with windows but still i prefer walking through looking at code when our screen look the same. Thank you thank you thank you.
also.... I do the same "rarrrrrr" in my head. Been doing that for about 15 years when i became an editor and started using mac :)
Thank You! I managed to make my Ender 3 a brick waiting further instructions, but without the ability to select a port on the Arduino. This fixed that!! So thank you!
Hi! I'm glad this got you up and running again! Having a bricked printer is no fun.
@@nickrobinson7096 if your still having problems use arduino that comes with the TH3d download it fixed all my problems connecting.
Great channel and video! Cannot believe you have only 638 views on this video :/
Good luck in the future!
Hi, and thanks (and thanks!). The views will come in time, I'm sure. 🙂
Thank you so much for this informative guide to get a bootloader flashed. Very much appreciated!!!
This video was SUPER helpful! Thank you!
Can confirm, thanks to helpful comments here, that Ender 3 Pro 4.2.2 boards do not need to have a bootloader flashed to them. Copy the firmware to an empty SD card, put the card in the printer when it's OFF, turn printer on. Mine took a little longer to start up, and the new firmware was there.
Only took 4-5 hours of work to find this out!
That was perfect! I’ve been struggling with my old ender 5 (atmega1284p) to let it accept klipper, but it needed a boot loader. For me, a new motherboard or an isp is both going to be a few weeks ordering, so I’m probably going to upgrade to a board with better stepper drivers, but I’m wondering if you could use the arduino it self as a boot loader, with a breadboard, in a pinch I mean.
Hi! Yes, you can use an Arduino and some jumper wires to go from the Arduino's pins to the six-pin connector on the printer's motherboard. There's a tutorial on the Arduino site ( docs.arduino.cc/built-in-examples/arduino-isp/ArduinoISP ). One of the pictures shows an Arduino Nano as the "target" device, being programmed by a larger Arduino. The Nano uses a six-pin ICSP header, just like the printer's motherboard, so that's probably the clearest example of how to connect the two devices.
@@BV3D I mean, thx a lot ! ! based on your example I was actually able to use the arduino uno as a boot loader and upgrade the marlin firmware with klipper, thus I do not longer need to sit and wait for the new board for a few weeks without printing. Btw, I’ve since watched several other videos you have, and I’m now wondering if you could use the end stop (z) as a bed probe. I know it’s discussed on several forums and videos, but I have not seen any specific video on how to do it, including the firmware / g code updates and where to do it. I’m pretty new to this 3D printing, just bought an old ender 5 a few weeks back. Anyway really enjoy your videos!
Many thanks for this easy to follow video, i actaully managed to do it because of your video thank you ✌
Worked perfectly. Thank you for sharing.
at 9:43 i actually said damn out loud at how fast you typed that
The power of editing , it's like ....... witchery :) ... as is 3D printing , its witchery :) ... real good fun though 👍👍👍☮☮☮
My God! Why don't these things come with the ability for me to just plug my usb cable from the printer to my computer and update anything from crealty's website. This is ridiculous. Your video is great. My complaint is with these 3D printer manufacturers.
Hahahaha! That's an extremely complex procedure. Casual consumers beware! I like it. Thanks Bryan and I did subscribe voluntarily without needing to be prompted. :-)
Thanks...Rn into a couple of problems with the asp driver, but nothing a google/youtube search couldn't solve. Thanks for the tips
This got me 98% there download the TH3d package and use arduino in that package as my sanguino board needed to be Sanguino 12-- and the regular Sanguino only bricked my printer. That easy switch had me up and going in under 4 mins.
Would like to see some print test with you replacing all the linear rails in comparison to the original print without linear rails looks like an awesome upgrade but is it worth it
My USBtiny AVR programmer's 10 pin to 6 pin adapter was one of the ones that was too wide to allow it to connect to my Creality Ender 3 programming pins. I simply used an Arduino 2x3 female stackable header, which extended those programing pins up high enough to allow me to connect my programmer's 10 pin to 6 pin adapter.
Hi Joe! That's a quick and clever solution to the problem! 👍
@@BV3D You can remove the cable for the LCD temporarily to install the bootloader
Hi Brian You will be pleased to hear I fixed my problem.
Got the bootloader onto my Ender 3 Pro.
But as you so eloquently put it, you could end up with a very expensive BRICK.
Well guess what I am the proud owner of a very expensive BRICK.
My new problem is when going into tools and look for the Port button it is greyed out.
This is the first time I have attempted this type of stuff
It is a real challenge for someone my age.
Do you or any one know how to fix this one?
Regards
Ernie from Australia
Hi good video but for anyone attempting to do this i would highly recommend dumping a backup of the pre installed firmware i.e the flash and eeprom before installing Firmware from the creality site as there are so many variations. It is very easy to do and should anything go wrong you have a backup.
Hi Paul! I didn’t know that was possible, so I would *love* to know how to do that. If you’ve got a resource you can point me to on the web, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks! 👍🏻
Hi Brian i used software called AVRDUDESS and USBASP programmer it's quiet user friendly you can easily read or write to the Flash or Eeprom. When i flashed the Creality rev1.1.6.1 to replace the Firmware that my Ender pro shipped with as i wanted Thermal protection i had a few issues with print quality as i had made some changes to the settings eg E-STEPS etc that i had not had previously had. Reflashing the EEPROM from stock that i had saved solved my problems.
Awesome, thank you! 😀
@@BV3D
No probs Brian, a simple way to check that you are doing things correct would be to upload the Blink sketch to your Arduino. Now using AVRDUDESS and USBASP Read the Flash from your Arduino and dump to your chosen location. Then upload the Blink sketch again after changing the blink rate. Now write the saved flash file back to your Arduino and all going well you should see the blink rate restored to the original.
This is good advice, it may sound daunting talking about using AVRDUDESS and a USBASP programmer but there is lots of guides on you-tube that will help, and its pretty easy to do, that`s coming from a total beginner .
This guide is awesome for newbies like myself, I ran into a problem though, my Mac does not show the ports when I connect the Ender 3 pro when I connect the USB. Do you have any suggestions?
"At this point you should have the Arduino IDE installed"
*Windows message: Arduino IDE had been installed*
How did you do that?! Haha amazing!
Thanks for the video. I think even I can follow this - really informative. I’ve ordered the Ender 3 pro, but wanted to check first - is this process still correct as of Aug 2020? (Many thanks in advance, and I’ve already subscribed 👍)
Hi Jon! Creality is in the process of switching to 32-bit main boards in the Ender 3 series printers, so the printer you receive MAY have a 32-bit main board in it. If it does, the board is capable of firmware updates via the MicroSD card, which is SUPER convenient. Short of removing the bottom panel from the electronics box to look at the board, I don't know of a quick, easy way to tell if it's 8-bit or 32-bit.
@@BV3D Many thanks for the reply!
Hi Bryan, very easy to follow, but when I went to burn the bootloader, I received an error message that Arduino could not find the USB device. I have a USB ISP version 2.0 - should I be choosing something else for the programmer name?
Been trying to pluck up the courage to update my week old Ender 3 Pro but surprised to see that the installed firmware is 1.1.6.2 - where as the Creality site still says the latest is 1.1.6.1?
Interesting! It sounds like Creality has revised the firmware they're using in production, but they haven't put the files on their site yet. 🤔
I was unable to search Sanguino board in the Board manager. Solution is, when you copy the Sanguino board URL, do not copy paste from RUclips, just open in a separate TAB first and then copy paste. Hope it helps for anyone who is stuck....
you saved me!
Great video.
Been hoping someone would do this.
I guess you might have to retune printer if you made settings changes on the old firmware, right?
I also got an isp with a bltoutch package. I am curious how this works in itself, you explain this well and I am thinking to test how far I get. only then will it be looking for the bltoutch how that will be again haha. Nice Work!
Good job buddy!!
Thanks, Jordon! 👍
thank you your tutorial is amazing
hello Bryan no problem reversing my motor thanks, here is my situation, i get a bondtech extruder for the ender 3 v2 an now the printer is underextrucio for the gear ratio and i dont know how to fix that, i undestand a lot of questions but i am able to pay for that information or at least going to buy that BV3D Mug for my cofee have a great day
Great video it was very useful and saved me time and money !
Do you have a vides which explains how to burn a new firmware once I have a bootloader? I want to upgrade to firmware with BL Touch.
Hi Bryan! As always, a great video! Did you give up on Klipper in favor of Marlin 2.0?
Sadly, I haven't messed with Klipper in a long time. It's still interesting to me, I just haven't had the time. 😔
When I take apart my printer, theres' only four pins on the board, all in a line, as opposed to the six shown in this video. What should I do?
I don't have any pins : (
thanks bud i used your link to get that programmer. need to upgrade to install my BLT.
cant get the driver to work ....
Loved it, have seen it about 3years ago when you first made it. Bought the USBASp and adapter back then and used it and it worked like a champ. I lost trach of these old board info and have spent 2 days looking for this, again. This time I have a failure of 1 of 3 boards. The first 2 worked great a V1.1.3 and a V1.1.4, but the 3rd would not allow the Bootloader to install. I was wondering if you might have time to review and make a suggestion. The error is:
avrdude: auto set sck period (because given equals null)
avrdude: warning: cannot set sck period. please check for usbasp firmware update.
avrdude: error: program enable: target doesn't answer. 1
avrdude: initialization failed, rc=-1
Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override
this check.
Thanks again.

I should have said that the Creality board powered up, and I saw the normal logo screen.
I've tried so many things but I can't get the microcontroller to talk to the board with the right drivers... I keep getting a Sanguino not detected on the bottom right and a "please check for usbasp firmware update"
It seems like there are a lot of holes in this tutorial :(
i can't believe creality required a third party arduino board just to update firmware on 2020 3d printers when every other device on earth has been updating firmwares with usb thumb drives or flash media for 20 years. This can't be correct, there has to be a way to update firmware with just a file on a sd card.
They didn't include a bootloader on their 8-bit boards, so you had to flash the board with a bootloader. Once the 8-bit board has a bootloader, you can flash the firmware over the USB cable. But it wasn't until the 32-bit boards that we got the VERY welcome ability to flash the firmware from a file on the MicroSD card.
Do you have a video when you change the stepper motor on the Ender 3
it keeps giving me an error compiling for board sanguino any ideas
Actually , you can just put the firmware .bin file on the sd card. Put the sd card on the printer, switch it on, and after a few seconds it boots up normaly! Without the need of this.
That's how the 32-bit boards work. The 8-bit board in my printer required the bootloader, and flashing the firmware via USB afterwards.
I'm hoping this recovers my printer. I tried to push the klipper firmware and it bricked my printer.
Having trouble have followed the video and keep getting this error message :could not find usb device
After flashing the bottloader i shut down the printer because i didn't had an usb now the screen is blank blue, and my arduino software dosen't recognize the usb port
Hello, great video! the link for the canadian amazon is down, could you kindly update it please? Thanks
Thanks for the video. After getting all the correct equipment I was able to get this together. I have a question. If I want to do a firmware upgrade do I need to go through Auduino to do it or is there another way?
Hi! Since you've gone through the tutorial and you've got a bootloader installed, future firmware upgrades will be easier. If you're doing the upgrades from source code, the Arduino IDE is still the way to go, because the source needs to be compiled.
But if you're upgrading with pre-compiled firmware (a .hex file), it can be a little more difficult to get that over to the printer by using the Arduino IDE.
There are dedicated flashing tools for Windows, but if you're doing it from a Mac, it's faster and easier to use Cura to do this with a direct USB connection to the printer.
Hi Bryan. Thanks for this video. I got a new Ender 3 Pro just before Christmas. Info screen says 1.1.6.1. Not wishing to brick the printer, is there an easy way to tell if I have a boot loader or not? Same question for thermal runaway.
I’ve since watched your video showing how to test for thermal runaway protection (my printer does have it). But still wondering about the boot loader.
Great video Brian. Did you print your Mac cover. I have a 2015 MBP that needs a cover. Sick of buying covers that crack on the corners. Thanks!
Hi! The case isn't printed. It's an iBlason heavy duty case. It's got an outer hard shell around the edges, and a TPU liner to help absorb impacts. I really like the chunkiness of it. That stepped design makes it super easy to grip when pulling it out of a laptop bag. And the open center part of it is actually a clear sheet of plastic. I can put my stickers on it, and if the computer has to go in for service (or the screen get replaced), I won't lose my stickers. 😄
I got it on Amazon a while back. They make them to fit back to the 2016 MacBook Pro, but (sadly) not the 2015. 🙁
Thanks the reply Bryan. I’m sick buying poor covers. I thought you had cracked it by printing a cover :). I hope You and Yours stay safe and your time to put out more content soon! Best!
Haha I love the t shirt!!!!!
My ender 3v2 won’t do anything help logo comes on fan comes on and that’s it tried to update firmware and this happened
i have a problem. My silent Mainboard v4.2.7 has only 4 pins beween the usb and display port
Do you have a detailed video with installing a bl touch?? that’s what I’m currently working on and all I have is a bricked printer
Why on earth would you use TH3D instead of proper Marlin though?
do you plan on doing a BL touch video? I bought one, installed and redid the firmware on SKR mini e3 and it failed everytime. I wonder if you ever put one on your machines and if not why? do you think the manual leveling is better than using a probe?
Hi Brian - sorry to ask more questions. I have the 1.1.5 silent board with a bootloader preinstalled. Any advice on updating the firmware? The Crealiity download is a .hex file, without a sourcecode file, and is labeled as 'bootloader'... i'm stuck :-( (Loving 3D printing by the way!)
I am a total newbie and have tried this but each time I am unable to install the sanquino files. Each time I enter the URL I get an error, unable to install. Any help would be great.
I got the E3 Pro and feel that most of the focus has been on modifying the printer itself instead of printing everyday things :-). One question in the modification category Bryan : Is / will / do you think the Z-axis linear rail kit that you have on your printer be compatible with the new Micro Swiss Direct Drive Extruder that they just launched ... which I ordered ... ?
Hi toreer66! I think the Ender 3 Pro works fine out of the box. Really the only things to watch out for are making sure you've got Thermal Runaway Protection working, and you periodically check the XT60 connector between the power supply and the main board. On some Ender 3 / Pro printers, those were crimped to the cables instead of being soldered, which results in a poor connection; the poor connection can overheat.
Having said that, it's also a fun printer to modify, and put your own little twist on it. I mean sure it's easy enough to manually tighten the belt on the X gantry, but it's also fun to print a belt tightener that has threads and a knob to perform the adjustment.
Now, about this Micro Swiss direct drive kit -- I hadn't heard of it until you mentioned it. I will have to go check that out!
@@BV3D I have the SKR Mini E3 board, TFT24 touch panel, BL Touch, Wham Bam build plate, new springs, replaced all fans with Noctua, Micro Swiss all metal hotend, Raspberry Pi with camera and Octoprint and a led strip in the upper horizontal bar. I will also add a dual z-axis drive when I add the Micro Swiss extruder to compensate for the additional weight on the X-axis. So you can see that the madness is at full extent but I'm still a small fish.
what do you do if there is no acsess to the port feature in aduino
When can we expect the video for updating to th3d unified fw?
Brilliant walk through, the best I've come across but still not working for me. When I try upload from arduino I get an error saying "serial port not selected" anyone know how to fix this??
I've followed your tutorial but I'm stuck at choosing the port. I'm running windows and the Port dropdown is greyed out. Any ideas on how to fix this?
I got a blue screen after boot loading . Do you know why?
Hi Brian, had an issue with my Wife's Ender3 not holding the MicroSD Card in place contacted Creality and they offered to replace it or send me a new board, the new board was fine by me and when it arrived we had already begun using the machine by USB and the new board went in a drawer to be changed when I had time, alas 2yrs later I have time and changed the board and found to be very slow in starting and the functions on the screen to operate - refitted the old board and all good, so refitted the new board and thought it maybe a software issue and found your site to enable to use Bootloader followed instruction by the letter up to 13.47mins your Done burning Bootloader - This one fails stating "error while burning bootloader", I have since tried this on the original board and have the same issue, any ideas ?
Hey Bryan! Thank you so much. This is useful. I've been running a very vanilla version of 3d printing for the last year, and find myself in need of actually running a PID configuration for the first time (I replaced my entire hot end) but I don't have any way to do that currently. So here's my newb question: If I go ahead and update the firmware and set my Ender 3 up to communicate via USB, can I then hook up my laptop, run Marlin, and configure my PID? Or do I need an arduino or raspberry pi to do those things? Thanks for helping out a newb! I feel like I'm in over my head here and don't know what I don't know!
Hi Maryska! Installing a bootloader allows you to update the firmware via the printer's USB port. But you don't need to do that just to enable USB communication with the printer. It will happily talk over the USB port without a bootloader.
This is mostly off the top of my head, but it's something to try:
You can try using either Pronterface or Repetier Host to communicate with the printer via USB. You *may* need to install a USB-to-serial driver* on your computer, because the USB port on the printer is controlled by a USB-to-serial chip.
Either of those applications should include a text interface, where you can type G-code commands at the printer, and see the responses.
So, once you're able to talk to the printer, this command will start the PID auto-tune process:
M303 E0 S200
(M303 is the actual G-code; E0 means "Extruder 0"; "S200" means "Set hot end to 200˚C")
I think an M500 when it's done will save the new PID values into the printer's memory.
* An easy place to find pretty much any USB-to-Serial driver you may need is in the TH3D Studio Unified Firmware package (link: th3dstudio.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043293452-TH3D-Unified-Firmware-Package)
Well i plugged my bootloader to my pc and pc founds bootloader but bootloader is without firmware and i want to ask you how to load firmware to bootloader.
Please help... how do I fix the "avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync:" error. I'm running windows 10 fully updated and an Ender 3 Pro with a Silent board.
Great video but my printer isn't appearing in the port menu in Arduino ice after burning the boot loader. Does anyone know a ay I can fix this? Im using a Mac by the way and trying to flash an Ender 3.
Thanks
can you please help I have been trying to update the firmware for over a week and nothing works.
Arduino: 1.8.13 (Mac OS X), Board: "Sanguino, ATmega1284 or ATmega1284P (16 MHz)"
fork/exec /Users/******/Library/Arduino15/packages/arduino/tools/avr-gcc/7.3.0-atmel3.6.1-arduino7/bin/avr-g++: no such file or directory
Error compiling for board Sanguino.
Right now there is no port showing up even though I installed the CH340 driver and restarted the computer. Can you please tell me how to fix this problem I have tried everything
actually, a usb port is showing up, but it just wont compile/upload
the port showing up is called /dev/cu.usbserial- 1410 , not /dev/cu.wchusbserial1410
it stops compiling right after I hit compile and give me the error message
The ender3 board does not have the pin set as you displayed in the video! Help please! Thank you!
Hi, can I use the BLTouch burner cable in place of the ASP you are using and if so which programmer should I use. Will it be USBasp or USBtiny ISP or some other? Many thanks in advance.
please! anyone who has done this on windows help! i dont know if its very different on windows or the firmware is very different now but i just cant get this to work and following over and over half the options are in different places i just cant get this. the printer is a brick now and i cant get this program to cooperate
So, I'm new to 3d printing.
I burned the microcontroller, ( blue screen )bought a new one, soldered on, then, the same problem, got a blue screen.
Do I have to install a bootloader, to flash a new firmware?
HI bryan, Love your videos .i have an ender 3 pro i have made few upgrade watching your videos .So i also ordered a Artillery sidewinder ,i pickedit up for 300 dollars .so it seems its worth for the price when compared to CRS10pro which is almost twice as expensive in my country , they seem to fix their initial issues with their in Version 4...Just waiting to receiving it .
In fact i also ordered a e3d hemera, i'm confused which printer to be upgraded it with that .By any chance are you going to review the artillery sidewinder X1 ? thanks in advance .
Hi Sujay, thanks! It sounds like you got a great deal on your Sidewinder. I don't currently have plans to get one, but it does look like a nice printer.
The Hemera is cool too, and what I've seen of it seems really nice. Whichever of your printers you install it on, I hope you enjoy it! 😃
i keep getting an error when i try to bootload. says it cannot connect
so i plugged it in, the display lights up but does not boot up. among other issues like failing to install a boot loader even if it is lit up. any suggestions would help immensely i’ve been stuck for months and trying zadig for correct drivers, very new to this stuff
where is the URL in the descripson
Please Help! I make it to the point of burn bootloader. When I do I get an error message at the bottom. I believe had something to do with the USB driver.
For some reason, my Ender-3 will not power up when the programmer is installed. I installed it just like you did, but the programmer is the only thing that powers up. Do you know how to fix this?
I tried upgrading firmware of Ender 3 Pro using TH3D and got an error that sketch is too big. How can I fix this?
