    Eat healthy, vegetables are healthy.
    Donuts are made from flour.
    Flour is made from wheat.
    Wheat is a plant.
    Plants are vegetables.
    Donuts are a vegetable.
    Beer is also made from wheat.
    Donuts are beer.
    Vegetables are healthy.
    Eat donuts and beer, super healthy, much yum.

    5
    Stir in remaining flour until smooth.
    6

    11
    Heat vegetable oil in deep fryer to 350°.
    12
    Slide doughnuts into hot oil with wide spatula.
    13
    Turn doughnuts as they rise to the surface.
    14
    Fry until golden brown, about 1 minute on each side.
    15
    Remove carefully from oil (do not prick surface); drain.
    16
    Dip the doughnuts into creamy glaze set on rack then when slightly cooled spread chocolate frosting on top.
    17
    Dip in sprinkles or other toppings after chocolate if desired.
    18
    Creamy Glaze: Heat butter until melted.
    19
    Remove from heat.
    20
    Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
    21
    Stir in water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency.
    22
    Chocolate Frosting: Heat butter and chocolate over low heat until chocolate is melted. Remove from heat.
    23
    Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
    24
    Stir in water 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency.

      Barb Chester i think the reason it might no be like krispy kreme is because kripsy kreme might add extra things to wat he has. but does it really matter if they're the same? his way would be much cheaper than kripsy kreme anyways. haha. im goin to try and make this next week :)

    • @seikibrian8641
      @seikibrian8641 9 лет назад +3

      bulldogs4555 "does it really matter if they're the same?" Yes, it matters. His title isn't "My donut method," it's "KRISPY KREME DONUTS - VIDEO RECIPE." It's just like his "COPYCAT KFC FRIED CHICKEN" video: he's attracting views by using famous names, but not delivering what he claims. His donuts (and his chicken) may be good, but they're no more like the namesake version than any other donut (or chicken).

    • @bulldogs4555
      @bulldogs4555 9 лет назад

      hey may be adding things less then wat krispy kreme adds. and he is giving u a general idea. whether u add more or do it the same way he does. is it not up to the maker?

    • @seikibrian8641
      @seikibrian8641 9 лет назад +2

      bulldogs4555 "whether u add more or do it the same way he does. is it not up to the maker?" If he had titled his video "How I make donuts" of course it would be up to him, but when he says ""KRISPY KREME DONUTS - VIDEO RECIPE" he should deliver on that promise; as it stands, he's being dishonest.

  • @AloneInMyOwnMind

    Made these yesterday. Overall turned out decent, but nowhere near Krispy Kremes. Might have been partially my fault, but I'm not sure.
    Adding in the 5 cups of flour left me with a batter that was still REALLY wet and runny. I made sure to follow all of the previous steps correctly, so I'm not sure why it was so runny. I ended up adding in probably another cup or cup and a half of flour, and even then it was still a lot wetter than Niko's dough.
    The glaze was also pretty runny in my opinion. Instead of adding 1/2 cup of water, we used 1/3rd cup. Made the glaze a little thicker and helped it stick to the donuts. The fact that both the dough and glaze were runny left me to believe that the weather and humidity in the room were playing a huge effect (It was like 90 degrees (F) and kind of humid.
    With that being said, the extra flour made them really heavy. And Krispy Kremes are known for being super light and fluffy. They still taste awesome, so I don't want to turn anyone off of this recipe. Just don't expect them to be exactly like Krispy Kreme. :)

      @lemmonsinmyeyes 8 лет назад +1

      AloneInMyOwnMind His recipe used self rising flour, did you aswell? SR Flour has a leavening agent that helps it to rise which might explain why yours was so heavy....

    • @AloneInMyOwnMind
      @AloneInMyOwnMind 8 лет назад +1

      lemmonsinmyeyes I did use SR flour. Again, mine was still super wet even after adding the same amount of flour that the video instructed, so I ended up adding even more flour. I think that was what did it.

    • @chiot2875
      @chiot2875 5 лет назад +1

      You should let the donuts rest again if you want them really soft and fluffy, but it definitely works fine tossing them in, just a bit denser. it matters less when you’re frying because this dough isn’t meant to rise much while cooking, unlike baked doughs that allow the time for the yeast to slowly eat the sugar and release the carbon dioxide that expands the dough. Also I see that w101 avi, damn. Haven’t played that in years.

    • @EricThompson-gs9ce
      @EricThompson-gs9ce 4 года назад

      if you don't eant to knead it, just let it rise for 2-3 hours, then refrigerate it for 12 hrs. The yeast will form the gluten naturally and the taste will increase. After the 12 hr rest, doughnis ready for rolling, cutting. don't forget to do a 30 min rise after cutting doughnuts before frying. If you want to bake them, it's 375 degrees F. for 10-12 min.

    Only problem with this tutorial channel is the fact he gives no information of how much of something we need, and how long something needs to be in (on some occasions). You can't just say "throw some butter in there, and milk, and seasoning and throw it in the microwave". And even though you can maybe estimate based on the footage, he cuts away on some ingredients so you can't even see.

    Every cooking video has comments saying yuck, or it sucks. it's not their fault, it's yours simply because you can't bake or cook.. or follow directions properly and instead of saying what did i do wrong and how can i fix it? you just blame others. I've never assumed a recipe sucked because it came out bad, i assume i screwed it up because the comments prove that it can come out tasting right.

    I made these and they were gross. Nowhere near the light fluffiness of a real krispy kreme doughnut, and definitely not the right flavor. All of the people who thumbed up the video didn't attempt this themselves, I can tell you that lol.
    I live 4 hours away from the nearest Krispy Kreme. SO whenever I am on vacation and visit my family, I go to the krispy kremes which is located in that city. The best thing to do if you want to have donuts for later is to freeze it in an airtight container or ziplock. Then, whenever you want a donut, pop it in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds, and it's delicious. Not exactly like a freshly made one, but pretty damn close.

    • @brendatrump4277
      @brendatrump4277 9 лет назад +4

      You are very fortunate to live so close to a Krispy Kreme store, but some of us have to make do with what we can get locally. I have personally made this recipe and find it to be very close to the real thing; of course he did say it was his version. If the donuts were not light and fluffy enough it is possible that you worked to much flour into the dough and that you were to impatient while allowing them to rise before frying. Try again, they might just be better next time.

      a3faaar first off, the people who are condescending about their cooking skills usually are really bad at cooking, they just think all food is tasty. And whose we? Second thank you for saving me time and ingredients Richard. I almost made them, but at the end I saw the glaze that was still liquid and I thought... this guy has no idea what hes doing.

      ***** perhaps, or perhaps not. It may very well be "his version", but it's certainly not worth making by any means. Especially if you are spoiled by the grandeur of a real Krispy Kreme.

  • @StarLazz4u2
    @StarLazz4u2 9 лет назад +10

    Nice job with the videos! Not to be a hater, because I totally respect your effort and the food looks amazing, but Krispy Kremes are supposed to be incredibly soft and fragile, the fact that you can pick it up without the outside deforming when they're fresh out the fryer is evidence enough that they weren't soft to the touch.
    Anyways, again, nice job. Looks delicious! Just not what comes to mind when I think Krispy Kreme.

    • @DavidWahlstrom69sins
      @DavidWahlstrom69sins 9 лет назад

      Yea,....that's why he says, "my version of a Krispy Kreme donut." Also starting off with,"Not to be a hater", then basically "hating" on his method, in a polite way is as backhand as a backhanded compliment can be. Might I suggest you give the recipe a try and see how it turns out. BTW he let the donuts cool down before he iced them and fried them just a bit too long.....had he took them out a few seconds earlier and iced them right after they would have the physical effect you are after. Don't be one of those guys......

    • @StarLazz4u2
      @StarLazz4u2 9 лет назад +5

      Sorry to offend you, you have misinterpreted the nature of my comment, I did also make it myself just to affirm my decision before posting something like that. And he could have just said my version of different type of doughnut, not every doughnut that is glazed over is a Krispy Kreme, it actually came out like the glazed Dunkin Donuts doughnut which I really like. I didn't mean any disrespect, read my comment again in a different tone and maybe you'll see I was just suggesting as I did mention I have huge respect for what he does.

    I havent tried these yet. But will really soon when I pick up the nerves to make dough, looks complicated. But the only thing I seen the problem was his frying time. I was told to never exceed a minute on each side for krispy kreme donuts. Makes sense because the softness and stuff is what makes krispy kreme who they are

    Wow. I have watched your videos for s few years now, but only recently subbed. Today followed your recipe for these glazed doughnuts and they are brilliant. Anyone out there making them, my tip would be, roll a little thinner than Nicko suggest as they really puff up when being deep fried and remember to not heat the oil too much as the things will turn brown instantly! (I did a few tests with some left over dough first and actually ended up turning off the heat and frying so that I could cook for 1 minute a side). Anyway great recipe and thanks for the vid! Im gunna try the Big M, next.

      Aaron Lowe I made donuts for a living, after they are shaped they should be proofed for a second rise..look for that white ring around the circumference of the donut, that tell you that it was allowed to rise and that it poofs up during the fry

      been making donuts for 15 yrs. Yes, U are suppose to let them rise. But herein lies the problem. If they rise then they become too soft to pick up. In this case you would have to put them on a metal rack that can be dipped into the fryer.
