Be wary of buying property in Portugal and its islands. I have found that with the so called "Golden Visa" developers and building properties left and right with very cheap materials and no quality. By the time you realize the garbage they have sold you, you are in for a big expense to try to fix the mess. Lots of UK people and others have been reporting on this.
