This is unquestionably the most surreal Gumby short I've ever seen, and THAT'S saying something. It seems so unnatural to have the characters be depicted in such a cartoony and exaggerated style, given how tame most Gumby cartoons are... Also, I'm glad they used Prickle instead of Pokey here, Prickle's the best!
Not only was this one tonally different from every other episode, the animation was way more fluid and exaggerated. I remember they didn't show this one very often either.
It's so sad that this and the other four 80s Gumby shorts have been forgotten. The Funny Bathtub did come out in the 7-DVD set with all 50s and 60s Gumby shorts re-dubbed.
The other 4 80s shorts? There were more than 5 Gumby episodes made during that time. There was a total of 99 new shorts made altogether for the 1988 revival, which were all shown in syndication along with the old 1950s and 60s segments, all rescored and redubbed for the new Gumby series. Of course since then the 50s and 60s segments have had the original music and recorded dialogue restored.
Those Gumby Adventure shorts from the mid 90s (i assume) sure was influenced in both wild takes and slapstick humor. They probably learned from Ren and Stimpy or something

I love Pokey and Prickles.
I can tell the animators had a lot of fun with this one
This has got to be on of the most craziest Gumby episodes I've ever seen!
John Gutierrez me too
John Gutierrez sorry I meant of clay and critters
John Gutierrez I agree
I can't agree with you more, John Gutierrez. B-)
@@danielluster732 Ok?

This is one of the most bizarre and shortest episodes ever!
I think David Bleimann thought whatever came out of his head doing this! I never thought this would be disjointed!
0:48 prickles face is priceless

What's the name of the set & where can I find it? I grew up with the redubbed versions of the older episodes.

that would be weird if they made a live action version of this
(1:01) Prickle's a hydra!
1:37 reminds me of John Carpenter's The Thing.
1:02 Prickle has become the Hydra.
1:02 “IT’S THE F**KING LOONEY TUNES EXPLOSION AGAIN!!!”.
Prickle and Gumby are so weird and funny in this short film.
0:17 Falling Gumby 😢😢😢
Dose not sound like Gumby
Bleimann definitely revisited some of these techniques when he did Bump in the Night
This and gumball gumby are the best
I love the crazy silent episodes.
Yup it's silent and there are lack of real words
Now that real cartoon logic 😂
shortest gumby cartoon eeeeevvvvvveeeeeerrrrrr
1:02 what?! since when did prickle have 7 heads
It's called a "wild take." It's unfortunately hard to translate from 2D to stop-motion.
I thought it was cool and funny!
Like hydra
I like Gumby since I was a kid
[Gumby straining] 0:37
Don't do drugs, kids.
Drugs are bad, m’kay.
[Prickle say aaaaaaaaaah!!!!] 0:19
I'm assuming the creators were tripping on ACID while making this Gumby short. 😅

Late 80s, actually, so they were more likely taking from guys like Tex Avery or Bob Clampett
0:27 boom 🤯
The weirdest Gumby short in my opinion
Their faces look creepy. And the scream
Golem gone clayzy
How the clayboy commited suicide by losing his brain
When a piece of Gumby goes crazy like that, it makes him faint?
no his brain escaped xD it had a mind of its own lolol
Oh nooo!!! He's gonna fall don't look bugsy
0:46 Did Gumby just die?
Paper Mario no he just lost his bump
This episode to me is not even a hit
Part of Gumby's head came off and he got it back almost towards the end and I thought he was killed by his friend who was in video
That was Funny.
AWESOME EPISODE!!!
Gone Clayzy (1988)
Does anyone remember another dialogue-less short where the Blockheads are waiters and keep dumping things on Prickle?
@ 0:18 that doesn't sound like gumby at all
Sounds like humphrey from alpha and omega
@noemigirons2077 I love the random crashing sound effect (the usual one the 80s "Gumby" episodes used) when Prickle screams there.
The begining is scary as fck
0:39
in the mid of the episode gumby died
Gibberish/Die 0:44
Someone made this...
ii😍😎😁🙂😉🤗😙🤗😙😐🤗👑🖒🖖🖖💘👋👄💅🖒👐👐🖓👌😃😉☺😉😎
I guess this episode should be pulled from brodcast
did they purposely make this derpy?
+MrLittlecrazykitten this Movie called the Sneak Peek Bonus from Gumby, on Disney Home Video
this was def testing the waters and NOT normal gumby.if your going to change the style just use different characters and a different show.
This short dose stink
This is oddly terrifying😊
