- Gary Newbon talked to Aston Villa's captain Dennis Mortimer and new player, Peter Withe, about the coming season and they both think the team will do well. Withe also talks about the dwindling crowds in football which he blames on the problem of hooliganism. Shots of the Aston Villa team training with manager Ron Saunders. Gary then talked to Saunders in his office about his training methods.
Good move Peter. Teaming up with Gary Shaw. What a duo. RIP Gary.
Everybody speaks so well here! Much better then most interviews nowadays.
Wish I was around to see Villa play live from around this period
Legend's all off them 👏up the mighty villa 💪☘️
I know why they made up that song now about Gary Newbon.
The villa played fantastic football in the late 70s and early 80s. A wonderful team, well coached, drilled and very quick.
RIP Gary Shaw and Big Ron.
Peter withe was the best target man I’ve seen at villa park, alongside Gary shaw the best strike force I’ve seen at villa park utv
Villa’s best manager was a Scouser;
Villa’s best captain was a Scouser;
Villa’s best striker was a Scouser;
Villa’s best winger was a Scouser.
Villa's best Manager was Scottish, Villa's best Striker was from the Back Country, Villa's best winger was Northern Irish, Villa's best captain i'll give you :-)
Tony Morley wasn't a Scouser. And Ron came from Birkenhead.
@@markhemming318 Ormskirk is 13 miles from Liverpool and he grew up supporting Everton.
@@VillaBoy - historically and statistically you are right especially with the manager and striker. But I’m only going by the players (and manager) who in my opinion have made the biggest impact in the modern day (or in my lifetime).
@@damienabbott9805 The fact is, a true Scouser comes from Liverpool. Even Jamie Carragher isn't a true Scouse as Bootle is in Sefton. It's like saying someone from Dudley is a brummie.
A wise man..
Wow, this was the day after I was born!
