Every scene Tony Leung is in Shang-Chi, he steals the scenes. When Fala Chen is in the scenes with TL, she steals the scenes. TL is such a legend to let another actor shine around him. Both were so good.
@@HamsterXFiles Trust me, I know how talented Tony Leung is. I've watched his movies since the 1980s. He's more like a Robert De Niro, or Liam Neeson as far as using his eyes to convey the scene. Cruise, Pitt, and Depp, while wonderful actors, they are more method acting using body language and facial ticks. Mr. Leung could convey all of that emotion with just his eyes.
I am seriously tempted to say TL is the main character of Shang-Chi. I love Simu Liu, but I feel like his exploration is just beginning. Weng Wu (hope I got that right) has a complete character arc. And you can just see how he turns it on & off! The opening scenes with him as this ancient conqueror, you can just see his eyes almost glazed over. He's practically going through the motions of destroying an army in his sleep. Then you see his eyes come alive. You see that sense of wonder. And then their battle. I was totally invested by then.
@@VivaLaDnDLogs well, he's been acting for 40 years. He has the most experience of all the cast. Really masterful work in Shang-Chi and pretty much everything he does.

Make it a Disney+ Show if need be, it could be a hit. The scope of the 10 Rings organization wasn't really felt in this movie, which I think could be told more thoroughly.

I love the melody that plays for her in Shang-Chi. Each time she appears, or when something good is about to happen (which is a representation of her grace and goodness), her melody plays. So beautifully timed.
@@kmax4668 yes, I am positive it is. Also did you know that the melody does not play when she appears or speaks to WenWu in his delusions. The reasons is because that’s the demon dragon and not actually the mother. It only plays when it’s genuinely her or her good will.

THE BEST. And the thing is, he did it by not making him a villain! Wenwu (not 100% sure on the name, taking it from Wiki) is a human being. We follow his life, we see how happy he was with her! We feel his pain at her loss. We understand his anger. And when he finds a chance at hope, we understand why he won't let anything stand in his way. He's less a villain and more a tragic character. Wenwu and TL are an example for writers and actors everywhere.

She was one of the big four in that era along with linda, charmaine and forgot the other). She’s the only of the few really active, Linda is semi retired and more interested raising children in Vancouver and Charmaine is really popular in China. That network has a lot of overseas asians (males and females) and continues to employ them because they are paid very low salaries. Of the current group (not by actual acting skill), one of the better ones is selena li. Lot of attractive/cute actresses but there acting capabilities are limited. Then again most of the cbc/abc group were only well known among tvb watchers only (super small group globally).
@@abccbc8335 TVB hasn’t been the same since 2011-2012. The last time I heard her name until this year since her links to temptation and lives of omission run with Michael Tse, and was ecstatic seeing her in Shang chi after seeing the ending credits.
@@abccbc8335 most of them speak Cantonese very well except for maybe a little accent.. So you wouldn't know they were ABCs or CBCs... Had they tried for roles in Hollywood, they'd probably be relegated to side roles, Asian love interests and other stereotypes.

Fala Chen's character is my favorite in the movie followed by Tony Leung. And watching them together was beautiful, I wish they had more time on screen to watch their relationship. Which is crazy because this is a Marvel movie!

@@supershinhwa Actually until 2005 when she went to the Miss Chinese International Pageant hosted in Hong Kong. She then became an actress in TVB since 2005, the same HK TV broadcaster Mr. Tony Leung had been working at during his early career.
i saw this on Imax and it was epic...the following day i saw it in 3D... Imax wins hands done but the movie was well worth watching twice...might go a third...
just watched this movie, so good! was always expecting Tony and Fala come on the screen... Really want that there's have their own love story individully come with another movie.

I like her when she was a young actress in HK. She’s really hard working, but most people forget about that and only see her look. Also media in HK and China was always too mean to her. In the beginning it’s about how she can’t speak Cantonese well, then they criticized her divorce despite the fact that she got out from a toxic relationship. I’m really glad she finally broke free and got the appreciation she truly deserves.
She's also 40. It's hard to build that kind of relationship when Simu is only just out of 30. She may look young, but she definitely carries herself differently.
@@machdude3366 I was EXTREMELY surprised to learn she is 39, but she + Simu can easily be a couple. In real life, she is mature + elegant, but as a talented actress, it would quite facile for her to play a younger version of herself, or anybody else.
I have always noticed she had a bit of an accent while speaking cantonese, assuming she originally was from mainland China only, but appears she was raised in Atlanta U.S. most of her younger years, explains her perfect american-english.

The fight scene between her and Tony almost brought tears to my eyes. It was so gorgeously executed.
