Caught the R&N Mountain Job today running Long Hood Forward and only one engine.
Quite unusual and rare for them. Great K5LA on that engine too.

It's not a special train, but it is however running ONE engine LONGHOOD forward. This job is always TWO engines running back to back, hence the rareness.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is so rare? It's a engine 5-6 cars....

That's okay ... For us locals this train will normally be TWO SD-40's engines running back to back ... However in this case it was only the one SD-40 and the fact that it was running long hood forward makes it a rare sight.
