The videos on your channel are some of the best out there. The videography is absolutely outstanding and the narration professional and highly informative. As a model railroader who uses the Reading and Northern and Norfolk Southern in the area as inspiration, this kind of video is a wealth of information for me. Best regards and looking forward to future videos!
I don't normally watch a lot of diesel videos - but you put together a wonderful and cohesive video that covers a run of the NRFF through some scenic and rugged railroad territory. Your narration is informative and enhances the overall storytelling. Great job! I watched the whole thing through in one sitting.
We are very lucky to have such a Great Railroad in our backyard practically. With a very rich history, and great old signals and stations of eras past. They tie it all together on the R&N!
3:11 I actually just chased 5018 leading the NRFF today, now in black instead of red. Video was very informative and helped me catch the train at some spots. Thanks!
Thank you for chronicling the R&N and the restoration of railroading in Eastern Pa. Hopefully some day daily passenger rail service will return connecting NJ and Pa.
August 2, 2024 on a Friday, I was checking out the relocated White Haven parking lot for the D&L trail thru the Lehigh River Gorge. I was sitting in White Haven when the northbound R&N train came thru at 4:55pm.
New to your page, love Short Lines Railroads, I am from Central North Carolina, Smithfield/Selma area where we have NS/CSX plus Amtrak about 1/2 miles from my home. CSX runs North to South and NS run east to west with Diamond at Selma train station. Thanks Central Penn Rail Productions for a great video and beautiful mountain backgrounds. Blessings.
Awesome chase on NRFF! There is also a daylight NS move through the Lehigh Gorge, NS H66. H66 passes through the Lehigh Gorge in the late morning-early afternoon when it goes to Hazleton, and returns in the late afternoon back to Allentown.
Love this video! I work as one of the rafting guides on the Lehigh through the Gorge so terrible to see an injury happen. But it is a great view from the river on the rare days the FF aligns when I'm working. LMK if you ever need another spot or 2 from within the Gorge and keep up the great work!
It's in use up to Mt Carmel to service international paper. It's intact all the way Shamokin, but past Mt Carmel it's owned by SEDA-COG / North Shore railroad. Beyond Shamokin, parts of the Reading and PRR ROW were salvaged to make one line to Sunbury.
@CentralPennRailProductions they actually don't have to. Crews can get talked by Pitt, White Haven, and Clint a mile in advance and not have to stop when they get there.
Nice chase there bro!! I didn't know they ran paralell 2 the NS Lehigh Line. Also, Is is true that The R&N interchanges coal trains with NS occasionally and if so, do these trains come down the Port Road branch?
@@CentralPennRailProductions O wow!! I was really hoping 2 get one. Also, when is the next time ur gonna head down 2 COLA so we can meet and get something?
I do see R&N coal cars on NS Pittsburgh Line past Horseshoe curve but not as much recently. All of the NS trains headed for Baltimore come out of South Fork Jct. Some on Port or Royalton Branch.

Very cool Reading & Northern freight service.
Liked no. 379!
Really enjoyed all the scenic beauty up there in the coal region- Home of Anthracite. You do a splendid narration which really enhances the video.

I just came across this channel this evening and I am really, really, enjoying it. Wonderful job. =)
Great informative commentary. Keep making good rail videos like this.
That cemetery clip at the end was the best one! Well done dude, you make RBMN look real good

As a PA resident, I appreciate your videos through familiar areas.
Nice freight run on R&N
Great video and awesome catches

I always enjoy your videos - thanks for making them.
Another great video featuring R&N! Can’t say enough about the thunderous 645’s pulling the grades!
Loved this video as it was very well done with very informative narration. The R&N is great one that really “gets it”.
Very well done video!!!!! Glad I found it to watch!! Thank you!!!

Love the sound of those EMDs
Love the Reading and your videos

Awesome 😊
Awesome video!
What camera do you use?
Great action video.
Some very pleasant settings,4:45and5:45particularly
Great video
Very well done
Great video, What’s the schedule with the fast freight?
Imagine what it’d be like if the R&N will be doing excursions from North Reading to Pittston too!
It would be an awesome surprise if NS Heritage Units could appear on the R&N too!
They used to when NS traversed the R&N!
@@Northeast_PA_Trucks_And_Trains and I’ve heard that also once an Amtrak excursion train ran on the R&N in 1999!

Awesome!
I was lucky to film NRFF a few times last year. There are times where I'll spend hours and don't see the train.
What is the location at 2:24?
Industrial Drive in Hamburg PA
@@CentralPennRailProductions thanks
Awesome video with professional narration! What scanner frequency were you tuned to as you hear the crew calling the signal at Muller Interlocking?
I think I know where you shot at Tuckerton. Did they let you onto their property and park in their lot?
What are those white boxes on top of the lead engine?
thats the Postive Train Control system
Is the line going to locust summit still in use, or is it abandoned?

Great video on an Awesome little short line.
Why did they stop at White Haven? A crew can get talked by there a mile in advance and not have to stop when they get to the signal.
I don't think they came to a full stop actually, I think they were at a crawl when they got permission.
@CentralPennRailProductions they actually don't have to. Crews can get talked by Pitt, White Haven, and Clint a mile in advance and not have to stop when they get there.
Nice to standard cabs on a long haul freight like this. NS doesnt really allow it at all anymore and even on csx i dont see it often

None have run to Baltimore for quite some time. But years ago you'd probably see them once or twice a month.

Yeah true. Most run outta shire oaks now tho.
@@NSFAN8000 I've recently seen coal trains sitting South Fork Jct. waiting for Locos. I was just there earlier in May on a trip to Altoona.

With all the cutting NS has done in the last few years I'm really surprised they haven't just handed over everything in that area to R&N.
Wish someone would build R&N black boxcar in HO scale.
