    So
    A group of easily manipulated younglings that can learn every discipline and potentially can survive in the sun
    .... Honestly i am dumbfounded why barons and bishops dont weaponize them more frequently

      I mean, all it takes is for them to diablorize a couple low level vampires... or high levels... the teen generation and condense their powers into one being. Giving multiple disciplines and expanding their adaptability.

    The game I'm currently developing has a good-natured, subservient Caitiff who unbeknownst to anyone is actually the oldest and most powerful Kindred in the (Camarilla) city.

      I once made a Caitiff like that! Her name was Trash and she had the maximum Age background. She was 10th generation and would do mass embraces during Anarch uprisings. Using her dominate and Auspex she taught all her new Childer everything they needed to know.

      I’ve got something similar; Bran “Atlas” O’brian, the 400 year old Sheriff of the City of Atlanta. He’s a Toreador…he thinks(he has OCD, and he’s Obssessed with protecting his progeny, but that’s about it)
      He’s also completely unsure of what generation he even is since his Sire was a recluse who just called herself “The Mother,” and she never disclosed anything to him or her other Childer. As far as he knows, he’s a mutt.
      He can, however, perform feats of strength that make Elders look weak by comparison, such as when he rescued his sole Childer Emma from a falling crane by _grabbing the wrecking ball and shattering it like a glass marble,_ leading some to assume(in secret) that he may just be one of the Fourth Generation, born of an Antedeluvian who concealed her identity in an effort to rebuild her empire from before the Flood. It doesn’t help the rumors either when he does stuff like vanishing into black mist, running faster than a car, and picking up conversations from literal _miles_ away.

    Another take on the Caitiff is that They're actually closer to Caine than those who have clans. Because Caine wasn't tied to Clan Disciplines either. It's a controversial take, but a take nonetheless and it's given some poor Caitiffs a sliver of hope.

    • @seanthomas1214

    There is currently only one duskborn who has held power, and they were a Primogen in New York, under Prince Helene of Clan Ventrue. He was only brought to this position as the duskborn presence in New York was growing, though the disdain for them wasnt decreasing, due to one being responsible for several murders on Kine that breached the masquerade, it is thought that this thinblood was of Malkav's blood due to her mentally broken state.

They’re like a dog that’s been kicked around by the owner for so long that whoever gives ‘em even a tiny scrap is gonna be their new best friend. Especially handy when you want the owner dead too. My advice? Spend some time recruiting them discreetly before a war party arrives. My Ductus has had the best luck sellin’ on “Caitiff supremacy”. Funny enough, I'm creating my first vampire game. The premise, rumors catching like Wildfire in the city of Dallas; words has spread of a new domain and an unknown "Prince" rising in the east. Either through curiosity, or from the orders of their Sire, the players will be investigating and finding out more of this so called "Prince". Location: Eastfield University in Mesquite.
    ( I live in the Dallas area, and i notice there wasn't much content or information about Texas in the WoD lore. So I'm basically taking the oppurtinity to create the setting, and changing what the city would be)

    If it's ok to ask (because I'm unsure of how the rules work for it) in v5 how many disciplines does a caitiff get per taste of another vampires blood (in the rules it I believe it says that a caitiff just requires a taste of another vampires blood and presumably no xp cost to get access to the first level of a new discipline) the problem is it doesn't say if 1 taste of blood could give access to all of the other vampires disciplines but at first level or if it's just the one or two disciplines

    • @LoreByNightVtM
      @LoreByNightVtM  4 года назад +5

      V5 is rather vague about how this works, so I use the rules from V20. A Kindred must drink the blood of another vampire and be taught how to use that discipline by the the Kindred your Caitiff is drinking from. With this, they learn the 1st level of that discipline.
      With most vampires, advancing along this discipline would require more concentration, hence the EXP expenditure being the current rating x7. As Caitiff blood is more fluid than other, they can better adapt and perform all disciplines, hence the EXP expenditure being the current rating x6

    • @christianwhite8877
      @christianwhite8877 4 года назад +3

      Thanks I have been unsure how it should work I guess for v5 you use that but caitiff don't pay for first level and don't require so much blood and nobody "has to" teach you because you can teach your self in v5

    • @LoreByNightVtM
      @LoreByNightVtM  4 года назад +5

      A kindred is embraced with a natural understanding of 3 disciplines and must require some degree of tutorage from another to learn more. You gain the first dot of whatever discipline you learning once the kindred has taught you how to use it. Caitiff have an easier time learning this due to the flexible nature of their blood, which is reflected in the the EXP you have to spend (current rating x7 for Kindred VS current rating x6 for Caitiff). The amount of blood drunk by the Caitiff is irrelevant.

    • @StevenLockey
      @StevenLockey 2 года назад

      @@LoreByNightVtM Its not actually anything to do with their blood being different, as many Caitiff are embraced by clan vampires who happily produce childer who are the same clan as them.
      The issue is education, training and culture. Its the process of indoctrination which predisposes them towards certain disciplines.

  • @darkwulf4862
    @darkwulf4862 18 дней назад

    I think Caitiff and thin-bloods to a lesser degree are able to learn disciplines without restriction compaired to the Clan vampires is simple. Caine cursed the 3rd gens and their childer
    so that each successive generation would be weaker, so as to try and stop what the 3rd gens did to the 2nd from happening again with ease. This means that from gen 4 to 13
    (maybe even the 3rd too given that the 3rd's don't know every discipline) Disciplines are harder to learn, thus no vampire is going to know every discipline (I placed a personal limit
    on the number learnable myself)
    Due to Caitiff not imprinting a clan, and thin-bloods being so far down the line, they are not effected by Caine's curse that restricts their disciplines, thus they can learn any one their
    own, the increased experience cost is just cause they are not 'railroaded' like the Clans are.

    I have a idea for my caitiff character there a recently turned (more or less 5 ish years ago in game) 8th gen caitiff they are a Yandere for a werewolf (before they were turned they found out that there wife is a werewolf and they were offered to be turned into a werewolf but before they decided they were turned into a vampire because they were dangerously close to finding out about the super natural but they wouldn't have told anyone because they didn't think anyone would believe him) they are a doctor and own the hospital during the night and has a ghoul who takes care of the hospital during the day they don't like most vampires (I'm unsure what faction they would be but mostlikely the anarchs because he usually doesn't care for monarchies and also the camarilla treats the monarch system much more like dictatorship) my caitiff aspires to become a Jack of all trades in terms of disciplines
