Honestly i feel like if they kept the sharp, aggressive styling of the exterior and interior of the blazer (although inspired by the camaro) and placed this onto the camaro. It would sell better. (Former camaro owner)
The Blazer has been a reliable, quality-oriented car for the past few years. Problem is...it's a CHEVY and priced $4,000 too high. A comparably equipped Acura RDX is more appealing (with a better warranty). So is a Hyundai Sante Fe, Honda Pilot, or Nissan Rogue and Pathfinder. It's a crowded category but Chevy markets itself as a value brand. Cost is too high to be a value.
I'm stumbling upon the Blazer after shopping many vehicles, and I'll tell you it's the 6-cylinder engine that has my attention. So many SUVs are turbocharged 4s now, and I think I've decided I'd rather have a 6 with no turbo. I'd also like to avoid a CVT. So if you put those two things together you aren't left with many of the vehicles you listed. I am very interested in the Mazda CX-70 when it finally makes it to market but until then I'd consider the Blazer a potential plan B.
Great review. Personally, I am waiting for the 2023 refresh. I am ordering an LT3 with the V6. All lighting will be LED. Only adding a couple of functional packages and a few accessories keeps the price under 42K.
Costly, yet it has a hard plastic dash cover and hard plastic on top of the doors. For a premium price that is CHEAP. Where else did they rip off customers? Also, could the front turn signals be any smaller? Then there’s that cheap looking rear wiper that should be tucked under the rear spoiler. No thanks.
The 2022s look great..... Until you see a 2023. The changes to the grille look so much more refined. The new daytime running lights also look excellent. The new Stinger has a very similar grille. It makes me excited to see what the new bodystyles of their other SUVs will look like.
That’s my baby, I got the 2022 trailblazer, thats my baby, the trailblazer an the Blazer are identical. I get compliments all the time on my blazer and mines is Crimson Metallic
I liked the new intro, it even makes me want to eat that donut, it looks delicious. This SUV in RS version looks quite good an excellent exterior design
The Blazer is a sporty-styled vehicle that is a decent ride for what it is. They do get pricey quickly though. I don't understand the updating of a vehicle, but leave some key elements unchanged, like incandescent turn signals and non-standard LED headlamps. The interior is not aging well either.
The Blazer is a nice looking car but $50,120 for an incomplete car with only a $75 credit for no heated or cooled seats and no heated steering wheel is disappointing! For the same money or less, I can purchase a Lexus 350h with more standard safety equipment, working heated and cool seats with the heated wheel and way better gas mileage. It’s a no brainer for me. And, more importantly, where’s the smile meter for the acceleration? I do miss that! Thanks and keep up the great videos!
I got one just like that but with the 21 inch all black rims… I absolutely love it! I had it since December and I have gotten so many compliments! Shout out to my guys at Capital Chevrolet in Wake Forest!!
Looks good the outside looks great and sporty. I love the full sunroof now does that open all the way? The heated steering wheeling…. Cooled and heated seats, back up camera, apple car play, and 4500lb towing capacity, all great features I really like this in the cherry red with blacked out rims! I’m trying to find a used one in my price range.
Can't imagine spending 50k on a Chevy product. Mostly because they are cheap crap that doesn't speak to quality materials or very reliable engineering. 50K in the used market could get you a very nice car, much nicer than this
Been driving the 2022 as a rental for about a week, including a two day road trip. Last month I had a Rav-4 rental. Not particularly impressed by either one. I am in the market for a new vehicle in this class so paying close attention. The Blazer is nice ... a lot of room and certainly more power than the Rav-4. Looks good. The tech is ok. A few things make me wonder about the long term quality. The Rav-4 is definitely more efficient and that is expected. Rav-4 is utilitarian but seems better built. The Toyota is loud when accelerating while the Blazer handles it with ease. Toyota has better visibility. Blazer has a lot of cheap interior materials but it is comfortable. Could definitely see the Rav-4 holding up better over time. My family was split on which one they preferred. Honestly not sold by either one.
The outside looks pretty good, but as always, GM interiors are so behind the competition. They just look so cheap. I also don't like the drive train. Every vehicle they make besides the full-size trucks, the Vette and camero drive like cheap front wheel drive cars.
This is true. These reviewers say it’s “such a great looking vehicle” but I don’t think the general public find it to be the best. The front is questionable and it’s way overpriced
Just purchased this bad boy last Friday from Banks Chevrolet in Concord NH... As a NE Resident this was the last blacked out in 350 miles, Banks GMC/ Chevy/ Buick was amazing, They treated me right on the price and with a couple offers it brought it down to just above 43k. 8 Months ago I Couldn't find this for anywhere lower than 55k (the new year, and slight slope in the market helped by waiting) but I was without a vehicle and I drove this and the 2023 RS... I honestly liked the 2022 better. Unless you really care about the larger screen, 360 camera, and *adaptive CC (you can always add it to the 2022 later) I wholeheartedly fell in love w/ the blacked out Black on Jet black '22....and for some reason, the 2 individual models I test drove, the '22 drove smoother and sounded better imo... (4x4/sport/"AWD" Modes Grip the road being such a wide base better than most competitors as well...) Very excited, Great video... Be well all!
wow how gm turned a nice trailerblazer ss into this ,.....lol 1990 dated interior another rolling piece of $hit from Goverment Motors they could have made a broncho fighter or even a wrangler fighter instead the dumbed it down ....smh
Garbage. Priced one at $52000 and the interiors are dated as hell compared to what's out there for that price. Just look at the Sportage interior for $15000 less. So much better
every single Korean, Japanese, & German crossover has a nicer interior than the blazer the way they have everything configured it is just awful, so ugly
GM is the only auto manufacturer that is capable of cutting corners out of a circle
They also put a lot of their owners in hell with their poor reliability.. I used to be one of them . 😫
@@charlesjackson1700 Consumer Reports magazine actually gives the Blazer above average reliability.

You’re right.
It’s up to the dealer. First Team is the best. Gap insurance also helps.
Well said!
The Blazer is made in Mexico as well, so consider that with its premium price compared to the RDX that is made in Ohio.

Right? 50K for a Blazer?!?! That just seems silly to me, lol
At first I hated it but it is attractive. It just doesn't look like a blazer. Of course it's a different era.
