Hello, Mae Nam Beach is ideal for swimming, the water is not always very clear, depending on the waves, and the sand is a bit darker. Koh Samui also has beaches with very clear water, which are also very beautiful, but if you want it to be quieter and like to swim a lot, Mae Nam Beach with its many palm trees is ideal. The food in the restaurants is not expensive. It is more expensive directly by the sea than inland.
Mae Nam has deceiving looks….venture any deeper than you waist n you will be up to your knees in mud…my personal experience. Chaweng main and south beach much better.👌
