- CRUISIN! Einsteigen und genießen: Probefahrt mit einer S-Klasse aus dem Jahre 1985. Der 280SE (M110-Motor) zieht erstaunlich gut durch und beschleunigt die knapp 1700 kg souverän. Handgeschalten: Ja richtig gelesen… eine S-Klasse als Handschalter! Außergewöhnlich. Aber außergewöhnlich gut! Der Motor ist traumhaft elastisch und zieht im 4. Gang bereits ab 50 km/h geschmeidig hoch. Das es auch sportlich geht mit einer S-Klasse zeigt sich ab Minute 8:44 bei einer Vollgas-Beschleunigung im 3. Gang ab Ortsschild (50 - 100 km/h). Get in and enjoy: test drive an S-Class from 1985. The 280SE (M110 engine) pulls surprisingly well and accelerates the almost 1700 kg confidently. Manual transmission: Yes, you read that right… an S-Class as a manual transmission! Unusual. But exceptionally good! The engine is fantastically elastic and pulls smoothly in 4th gear from 50 km/h. The fact that an S-Class is also sporty becomes apparent from minute 8:44 when accelerating at full throttle in 3rd gear from the town sign (50 - 100 km/h). Test drive test drive POV.

Hello from Finland and thanks for nice videos! Very nice 280 SE! One little hint for that squeaking sound what is audible when driving. It is the door panel squeaking against the rubber "lip" on the door sill. Put a strip of 3M 5430 Squeak Reduction tape on the most bottom part of door cards. It is transparent and invisible, but the car will be totally silent after that! You can't believe the difference! Best regards!

m110 is great without aircon. Mine runs rubbish with aircon ON.
Yes Aircon takes off some horsepower 😅 but this without and manual gearbox runs really quick. Yours is with manual or Automatic transmission?
@@MLCCLASSIC Automatic and aircon. I also have a300SEL with M104 e320 engine fitted, completely different animal.

Wer hat denn damals einen Schalter bestellt?!?
Gute Frage… anhand der Fahrgestellnummer ist zu ersehen, dass der 280SE damals als Neuwagen in Österreich bestellt wurde. Vielleicht eine besondere Vorliebe fürs "sportliche" Handschalten 🤗

@@hauke4651ja ich hab mal recherchiert, gibts tatsächlich öfters im 280er. Harmoniert meiner Meinung auch ganz gut 😌
@@MLCCLASSIC so sieht’s nämlich aus! Auch wenn es im ersten Moment als Gegensätzlich empfunden wird war es genau diese Kombination die sich an sportive Fahrer richtete denn der Doppelnocker hat durchaus sportliche Attribute 😎
@@hauke4651 Ja, ich empfinde den w126 mit dem 280er Motor und 4-Gang Schaltgetriebe durchaus agil, auch der Sound gefällt mir. Ist aber natürlich alles rein subjektiv, jeder empfindet das wahrscheinlich etwas anders 😉
Wieviel dreht der denn bei 100km/h im vierten Gang?
Bei 100 km/h im vierten Gang ist die Drehzahl bei ca. 3.000 U/min laut Drehzahlmesser ✌
@@MLCCLASSIC Danke, so ähnlich habe ich das vermutet. Ist er bei 130 noch angenehm leise im Innenraum, oder ist das Motorgeräusch da schon eher laut?
@@wp8022 Ist noch angenehm auf der Autobahn, aber nicht unbedingt leise, bei schnellerer Fahrt auch Windgeräusche. Also mit einer modernen S-Klasse nicht zu vergleichen. Trotzdem würde ich diese knapp 40 Jahre alte S-Klasse auch auf einer längeren Fahrt z.B. in den Urlaub einer modernen Karosse vorziehen… ist immer noch ein tolles Reiseauto 😀
