This car still looks great today. My Dad used to work for a MB dealer, so I have lots of fond memories of the 80's MB's. They were fantastic cars and felt amazing to drive.
My first one made me feel somewhat like a living god at times to drive it. I like the way that if they are rolling forward under power they can gradually start to accelerate on their own.
These cars will be gone, instagramers , artists, youtubers and other morons are literally destroying these cars out of fun.... very resilient, well made, and beautiful pieces of engineering...
@@JeffreyMabirimisa-wx7be update on my daily driver situation: the car doesn't run since 2 weeks before new years and I got depressed again because of it. It burns a fuse when trying to start it and the sparkplug wells are full of oil even though the headgasket is brand new
Looks like it might have the glass coat on the paint. Not quite certain. Have the 280 se myself. Bought it cheap. Plastic skirts on bottom of doors for 86 model year. Rims help make it look good because tyres look wider on the road. Compared to other cars.
ATTENTION! ⚠⚠⚠ There is something wrong with the engine, because the engine noises are not normal! Also seems what with the oil pressure does not agree (see instrument display) ⚠⚠⚠
Looks like a bit of AI was added to the video. I know the M103 motor quite well. And I know that it likes to get a bit warmer before it starts to warm.
I have the same car w/ blue Pullman interior… Purchased 2 weeks ago 😊 I zoomed in on this video to see what I should expect in terms of rpm. I see 2500 at 90kms… Is that the right target? Thanks
I have a question about a 1984 Mercedes W126 SEL 300 short chassis car. The original 3000cc engine was replaced with a 2300cc Mercedes W124 1992 engine to reduce the cost of gasoline consumption. Will the engine be weak on the W126 chassis?
What happened to the Mercedes ( or for that matter) the European horn? I miss the “BEEP!” Not the “HONK” we have today. I’ve driven a Mercedes since my Dad gave me his 1993 S and that one lasted almost 150k miles. Then a 2003 E and now a 2019 E. The 1993 S drove the best. Heavy like a tank but glided like and flowed like a bird. My next will probably be an EQS. And I can say it enough, I miss that old horn “beep!”
Just imagine paying so much money in 80-s and getting this shitty interior with no even leather seats… meanwhile Cadillac offered more luxurious interiors at cheaper cost.

Absolutely rubbish comment. That is perfectly normal engine sound for one of these. The oil pressure gauge is fine too.

Такива коли вече няма само кенефи за пари ма тя и европа е кенеф
The older DOHC 2,8 M110 was better
it runs with way too many rpm's on the engine at 80.. It is more noisy than a new VW Up! 1.0 with 60 hp :D
when merc used to make real cars w140 too
