They would have to drive very small, old, cheap cars to avoid the cops! All changed today though, as driving an MB or ar BMW means nothing. 🤔 ✔🇬🇧👍💯

Too bad it is so far gone.. This car is exceptionally specked up, I never saw a W126 or any car of that era with that much options. It must have cost a fortune back in 1986 despite the weaker engine. So sad to see that the rust nearly ate it up completely.
Remarkable moment on 8:47 when part of the rusted front bumber, felt off making bigger hole😂😂😂 its the shame that this car was so neglected, as its full of options that were not so common on Mercedes these days, someone specified it very well.
I got a w140 that was in the garage for 20 years. Guy drove less than a 1000 miles. I did the plugs on it, cables, filters, oil, fuel pump and the most important, fuel pressure regulator. Starts and drives like a Mercedes Benz.
Last of the well built MB era that a socket set and few spanners and a reversible screwdriver can fix... Now you'll need a laptop and a code reader unfortunately Loads of chrome and superb build quality.

The last S Klasse from Mercedes in my opinion. Maybe W140 also, but not as beautiful as W126. So keep it running if you can and congrats for rescue it.

I too thought is was a carburettor engine, but I think it is fuel injection. Electric fuel pump and injector unions can clearly be seen. Started well though. 👍😎💯🇬🇧
Fuel injection is way different that is still a carburetor electronically actuated the fuel delivery but still mechanically driven let's say a complicated version of carburetor...but I will convert it rather to weber or solex carburetor or fuel injected carburetor the one used in racing

First thing I would have done is change the oil. Even if it was the cheapest oil you could find. You have the opportunity to clean all the old oil out as 8 years is enough time for it to migrate downward.

WOW - Trip Computer option is very rare, especially on the 300’s. Beautiful W126!
