My pull is very small this week... Ashoka & Xmen
Was it my imagination, or did this top 15 only include one single indie? I just don’t get it. If I were to list the top ten comic that I get excited for, MAYBE there would be a couple from the big 2. But the entire rest of the list would be indies. Hardcore big 2 fans would really be doing themselves (and the industry!!) a favor by branching out a little. I mean, I suppose many already have tried branching g out, and maybe found indies wanting, but with the quality of the top current indies I would find that hard to believe. I
For instance, right now Rook, Geiger, Redcoat, Transformers, Conan, Nemesis, etc... are generating a LOT of hype and buzz in the industry (at least in the circles In which I tend to run). So, what happens in a hardcore Big 2 fan’s brain when they hear about these books? Are they simply not interested? Or, do they try out all these hot indies when they hear about them, but no lasting interest develops?
I personally think Rook is the best book running right now. In terms of artwork, storytelling, character development, world building, etc..., it is head and shoulders above ANY other current book. To each their own, personal preferences, etc..., of course, of course, but I’d guess if 100 comic readers read it, 80 of them would put it on the pull. I HIGHLY doubt you’d get the same result from the latest Harley Quinn or Gambit and Rogue or whatever, so I gotta think at the end of the day, it’s because hardcore Big 2 fans don’t really try too many indies no matter what they’ve heard.
I don’t know... just rambling on I guess.
USM is the only book I'm pulling here, and it ain't all that. Pathetic state comics are in.

I'm so broke rn because of comics but I managed to squeeze copy of harley quinn from my allowance and a random issue of harley quinn #52 from the rebirth days. Not buying usm this week as I'd rather just read it online

I hate the ultimate universe. Its not even marvel comics. It dark, depressing, twisted, and marvel’s darkside. Far cry from the original universe and the work of the OG creators 💯
Well that's why it's called the ultimate Universe It's supposed to be an alternate version of these characters created by a very evil person purposely not to have heroes in this world. So there is a method behind the madness

I have Ultimate Spiderman on my FOC and I have The Avengers Annual. I have not read any of the other annuals, but Thanos and The Avengers will make for a good book, and I liked the McKone variant cover. Hopefully, good summary in the front of the book. I am surprised Batman The Long Halloween was not on the list. I ordered two covers, the A cover and the Jim Lee foil. I have not read Harley in a long time and since Tini Howard is writing this, I definitely will not be picking this issue up. Thanks for all your efforts.
can't wait for the Zeb Wells run to be over and the 8 deaths of Spiderman arc to start. Hopefully that gets us back to a better place on ASM. I feel like I need to read the Ultimate book since the TPB is out now for the first 5 issues.
Definitely give it a read, one of the best things on shelves and it gives you the spidey fix that ASM has been lacking.
Worth it for sure. The character work is great !
I read the Si Spurrier flash run up until issue 12 over the weekend and it is severely underrated. Super high level concepts, and a bit hard to follow but once you hit the annual issue it pretty much explains everything and is a really good "ah ha" moment. Cannot wait to grab issue #13 this week to see how that storyline concludes and how it changes the flash for the upcoming arcs.
