Have you ever considered draping as an alternative, though? It's a more intuitive approach (not to mention more fun for most people) than manipulating an existing pattern or drafting your own. I mean, I like patternmaking but then I enjoyed linear algebra in school as well 😎. Nick Verreos has some great draping tutorials on his youtube channel - he has a wonderful fun and lighthearted approach to teaching, makes you want to jump right up and try the things he shows.

Overall I think there are huge chunks of Moffat's run on the show (especially regarding s8-s10) which are way better than people give him credit for but I also have criticisms of his writing (as I did with RTD too). Will be very interesting to see how Chibnall runs things. So glad you like Bill and 12 though, their granddaughter/granddad/bffs vibe is so enjoyable and Bill brings a LOT to the table which DW and television in general tends to lack; cool representation handled well, some underappreciated tropes, etc. Sorry that my first comment on your vids is DW-related! :( Clara. I think she had amazing chemistry with 11 but she just doesn't work with 12. It's less so a problem of her character and more that the writers just shouldn't have brought her over into 12's era.
Yeah her writing was awful in the last few seasons. They tried too hard to make her sassy and kinda made her seem ignorant and bratty 😭

MOFFATT IS TERRIBLE. Although I thought the superhero episode was so bad it was good. But I'm a huge Superman fan too, so I was in love. And every time Clara was onscreen I just wanted to punch her. HAAAATE. I love Capaldi too, hate Moffatt. Some of the ideas are cool, but writing UGH
