I've listened to this version 526 times at least since it came out (plug in, plug out ep). The "acoustic" (I'd call it classical) version of this rock/indie song showcases and focuses on the incredible creativity in Haines' brain to write this "simple" masterpiece about humankind's unending appetite for destruction.
Massive talent. Cannot be overstated
I love this band's immense versatility, their ability to re-interpret a song which was originally driving and forceful electronic rock, and create this subtly understated piece of acoustic magic. Emily's voice and her mellow piano, as well as Jimmy's softly whispering guitar, meld to form something entirely unique and utterly heartfelt. This is music.

A fair amount of songs created acoustically. Then 20 layers added on after the fact. Would not be surprised if this is the original version of the song.

My tears came right when her vocals began. Tears for beauty! Great passion in Emily's voice and beautiful melody with piano. Perfection! Love this version!

@@AngL426 same, I saw her in concert and after the set I overheard her as she left the stage saying she wanted to make sure she did a good job for her grandma that was there and then I seen them walking down the hall and I'm a good eavesdropper and heard her asking if she had a good time it was so sweet😇

This is simply amazing.. its a wonder how much a song can change simply based on how its performed. I almost prefer this to the original version- I love these acoustic versions.

Sounds like Rumi, with a feminine and pretty tone. Anyone agrees! Rumi gas a piece that succinctly translates into "it's enough." I hope I'm right because I love this version of this work.

I don't understand why they don't push this song/version mainstream.

This is so gorgeous, and so well shot -- but it really pisses me off that the few times we see her hands, she's not playing what we're hearing. It's an amazing performance - but it's those kinds of details that make a film.
