Today i was walking to the tourism board to get some documents for my next province in afghanistan (Kabul). On the way i was stopped by this young Taliban soldier who wanted something.
After a bit back and forth i was asked to go back to the police station and speak to some major taliban official.
during the whole process i was calm and the brothers treated me well and respectfully.

People might think you are videoing for the wrong reasons. And it became even more chaotic when there was a misunderstanding in the communication...However, I hope you have fun in your following adventures and remember these things happen all around the globe.😊
6:40 The translation caused the misunderstanding between Abdi and the Talib. Abdi said I have my passport/documents with me and will go to Kabul" The translator (some random dude) translated to the Talib. "ohhh he left his documents in Kabul! The translator was not fluent. His incorrect translation made the situation worse because it he told the Talib that you left your documents in Kabul. As a result this made the Talib become even more suspicious (the Talib thought you are hiding or trying to get away).And for those who are saying the Talib is uneducated, this is completely false because just because you don't speak English does not mean you are uneducated...Many leaders around the world speak in their native language, does that mean they are uneducated??? This is what I love about the Taliban, They are not afraid anyone! They speak in their native language! They wear native clothing to international meetings! They run the country according to their own rules and law. And most of all They are not influenced by the west!
That's the justification all authorities use when they harass and abuse. Come on that's such a weak reason. Try thinking

@@niket527 If the police in USA stops you and asks you for your drivers licence. Do you ask them to come to some tourism office with you then you will show them your licence? This is stupid. It Abdi's fault. Talib wanted to know why he has a camera and wanted to check his documents.

As an Afghan and specially from the city of Jalalabad, we also go through this same shit. Taliban here are quite strict and take things to their hands as if they are the rulers individually. Taliban from Kandahar and Kabul are quite chill though. I felt bad after seeing you being chased for no reason. He didn't mean to harass you but still it is not ok to do that to a foreigner, because as a foreign you never see this happen ever.
Am somali and I can understand the taliban after so many empires trying to invade their country and still trying to undermine them they have to be very causious until the country is established well then things will be smooth inshaalah.they are trying their best in the worst circumstances possible with sanctions and all.
I’m seeing a pattern here. It’s constant cycle of interrogation and skepticism followed by hospitality immediately after once they trust you. I guess with the current state Afghanistan is in they don’t want to take chances. Being Muslim definitely helps.

What was awkward and scary? Was he ma'nh"andled? No. He turned it into a drama when all the police was asking him was for hos passport. It was a translation issue. There are checkpoints everywhere he could've gone too. These checks are for everyone's protection
