I can answer that question simple. It’s because when the game came out, we were in middle/high school. Now we’re in our early 70s and still playing GTA 5
RDR2, rdr online and other games not made by Rockstar exist, Rockstar isn't holding a gun to your head forcing you to play gta online. It's a good sign they are taking so long with gta 6, making it as polished as possible and somehow better than rdr2. Also 10 years isn't going to turn a teenager 70, just focus on other things and gta 6 will be out before you know it.
@@rogueraccoon1840 i definitely understand lol. I don’t play it often anymore but when I do it’s strictly racing. I’m pretty much tapped out on businesses/heists and what not.
@@alexallen126This is the most simple and best way to put it. People are just getting gamers fatigue similar to how GTA 4 got its own fatigue and complaints. Only difference is that nobody expected GTA 5's life cycle to last this long. So the fatigue for this game is even higher than the last game while simultaneously the anticipation for GTA 6 is through the roof. Which is why you see more people on the internet expressing their distain for 5.
The game has become hated, not because it is bad, but because people are tired of it. They have been playing it for 11 years more than any other GTA game, and therefore people now have more time to scrutinize every detail of the game. They have begun to criticize the game for problems that were already present in most of the previous GTA games, But the difference is that they did not spend the same amount of time with any other GTA game compared to V The game is 10 years old, and people don’t seem to understand that.
I was 'tired' of GTA 5 after a week and all my friends dropped it after 2 years. Y'all coping so hard 😂 GTA 5 is not a perfect game. There are many things to dislike about it. You need to get over it.
@@ross3695_basedhax I think I've made myself clear enough, and I don't think I said it's a perfect game, but I strongly believe that a lot of the harsh criticism of the game over the last years is a result of this game being around for a very long time. It's a game that has gone through three generations of consoles. The game engine itself was developed in 2008, before half of gta online players were born, I have no problem criticizing the game, but I do not completely agree with the opinion that says it is the worst game in the series, and of course I respect your opinion and your experience with the game, but you have to understand that many players have been playing the game for years and still do. So the experience of you and your friends is not a standards. GTA V. It is like many things when they become exaggeratedly hated because of their long lifespan and their failure to keep up with the rapid development in the industry
In 10 years, it’ll probably be the same shit, just shifted a generation. People will lump IV with that of San Andreas and Vice City, look back on the “best” GTA (GTA V) and hate on GTA VI for whatever reason. I think there are some aspects of IV that are genuinely better than V, but people either think of IV fondly due to nostalgia, or just are trying way to hard to be different by hating on the popularity of V
I disagree, thats a bad excuse to invalidate people's gripes with the game.Same thing when some people say that Street Fighter 4 was shat on by people leading up to 5 the same way 5 was leading up to 6 when it absolutely wasn't
I completely agree, people who grew up with 5 will be a massive group of people who will claim it is the best game in the series and nothing can top it
@@CrackedJust1n shut up I grew up on San Andreas and believe 5 is technically the best. 4 is by far the worst with the worst series of missions in GTA the entire franchise, worst atmosphere, zero side activitie, empty lifeless world as you can't interact with NPCs except with your weapons unlike San Andreas and V
I think there are issues with the GTA V story, but I disagree with the idea that Trevor should’ve tried killing Michael after finding out Brad was dead. In fact, I believe it’s more in line with his character to want to keep Michael around. If you look at some of Trevor’s other toxic relationships, like how he immediately embraced his mom after being gone for years, it shows that loyalty is a core part of his character. What I’m trying to convey with this example is that Trevor may be a lunatic, but he values loyalty above all and has trouble letting people go, even if it leads to him getting hurt because of his blind faith in people. However, I do think Mr. Madrazo was somewhat underutilized toward the end. Overall, I find GTA V’s story pretty decent. I don’t mean to sound pretentious or like I’m some intellectual trying to be above everyone else, but I think many people overlook important context in GTA V’s story. If more people considered that context, I believe the story wouldn’t be seen as so messy. I also don’t think Trevor would find it very cash money of himself to kill Tracey and Jimmy’s father, since he views them as his niece and nephew. I don’t believe he would want them to grow up without a dad. As for GTA Online, I think you’re being somewhat unfair about the Shark Card micro-transactions, considering all the content in GTA Online is free. While I would also prefer GTA Online not to have Shark Cards, they are literally the only way Rockstar is compensated for the content they release. Additionally, I feel that people exaggerate the amount of content GTA Online receives nowadays. Since the Tuners DLC came out in 2021, the content has decreased in scale, likely because Rockstar is putting more resources and time into GTA 6, which I’m happy with. I just find it odd that people act like the game still receives a Kajillion major updates, when in reality, the updates have only gotten smaller since 2021 and often reuse old content. On the topic of GTA Online updates, people also tend to blame GTA Online for the lack of updates to Red Dead Online. However, it’s quite the opposite since Red Dead Online’s release, GTA Online has received fewer major updates, which I think is reasonably due to Rockstar focusing more on supporting Red Dead Online. PS: Love your vids!✌🏽
What a good perspective, I completely overlooked Trevor's loyalty to the other characters. I really enjoy GTA 5s story too, it's filmed like a reality TV show in the cutscenes with the camera shaking and stuff. I really hope Rockstar does that in 6 as well, made the whole thing feel like a TV show
michael character was such a beta, offing him mid story would have been a pleasure. esentially finishing the game with just 1 guy would have been better. having all the money, assets and secondary encounters concentrated on a character only rather then 3 and never being able to really own anything without using glitches or trainers for money (a good exemple is the 150mil. golf club)
Highly disagree with the Trevor part. He never would've killed Michael, his best friend, and the father of Jimmy and Tracy. Trevor is a loyal character. He never intended to kill him despite how mad he was. He didn't want to, which isn't the same as Michael. Trevor threw his gun at Michael, while Michael actually tried to shoot him. Also, despite how mad he was about Michael betraying them and getting Brad killed, he later on mentions that Brad was an asshole and he probably would've killed Brad himself later on anyways. The fact that he later on put things aside and saved him in that mission makes sense.
gta 5's story was never really about the protagonist taking down the villains, the real conflict is between the protagonists themselves. Michael and Trevor has unresolved issues and it's up to Franklin how to settle it
@@thelastofustvseriefan I couldn't care less if people just don't like the story but when they act like they know what they're talking about and tries to make an actual breakdown on why the story is bad that's when it gets annoying lol, not to mention gta 5 actually has good writing
The story could be better, if they cut the FIB thing, and Franklin, because he is pointless. It's a story about Michael and Trevor, and only they have personality. I don't care Franklin's backstory, if I need to listen 3 hours of conversations with friends...
@@adamtm8255 if Franklin didn't exist Michael and Trevor and would be endlessly arguing and just kill each other in the end, if the FIB didn't exist the story wouldn't even happen.
It’s not hated, the amount of copies sold and reviews show that it’s not hated, people have just grown sick of waiting for GTA 6 and being stuck on this game, simple as, millions of people still play this decade year old game till this day
It's basically because people are getting tired of it and blaming GTA 5 for Rockstar taking forever.I would be okay with it if it was hated for a reason but everyone liked it when it came out and now suddenly people are starting to change their mind.Like bro it's not the game's fault if you get bored of it cause there's no new games
@0902_ fair I thought you meant the game as a whole even the decisions they made along the way the game itself holds up good so I agree with you that the game itself is good
There is a huge conflict between gta 4 fans and gta 5 fans and I genuinely think this will continue when gta 6 comes out as people will be nostalgic about 5, it’s so pathetic and it’s a cycle that I guarantee will prevail
Sure, it had its issues, but I do think at the same time it was a huge and iconic milestone in the gta franchise evident by the amount of sales it accrued and did adequately well at doing what gta games intended purpose were, that is to be a satire and humorous critique of American society and culture
I agree with everything you said. GTA 4 was a prestige cable drama, and 5 was a summer blockbuster. Nothing wrong with that but Rockstar didn't live up to the potential they showed in the earlier entries. As for the narrative, I hate that everything was tied neatly with a bow. It was too Hollywood. Everything was building toward this grand showdown with Michael and Trevor, and then they pull the rug from under us. The cemetery showdown should've ended with one of them dying and the player forced to take control and make the choice.
Exactly. Like yes, GTA 5 isn't the *best* in the series but it is NOT the worst, and these comments here screaming that it is give off toxic GTA 4 fanboy energy. Even 4's story isn't the "best", San Andreas gets that title.
I 100% agree with you And they say the exact same shit to san andreas as well. Shows how much toxicity these gta iv kids can be these days 💀 Though I gotta say gta iv is great, but they should stfu about the other gta games being the "worst" just because they can't look at the contexts of the game or the amount of complex to it
As a GTA 4 *FAN* not a fanboy, I felt like GTA 5 took a step back because it didn't have any realistic physics and story. But I guess they made the right choice with physics because it is more fun to play. But the story is dogshit compared to 4
@@imagamershorts gta v story is bad and undertold only when you're looking at each character's story separately and for each bad satire give it -10 points. if you look at the story as a whole and don't fixate at stupid jokes a lot it is actually a decent story
tbh its a cycle when gta 4 came out, it was hated a lot, infact the most out of any series due to its seriousness and gloominess, but after that gta 5 came out and people started hating on gta 5 for its minor flaws and then gta 4 suddenly became extremely loved by people who never even played it, the thing is, every gta has its own uniqueness and advantage but as soon as gta 6 comes out, im sure it will be highly popular, very advanced and will sell really well, but it will also be hated to the core, with gta 5 becoming loved suddenly
FACTS, I think the Great stuff in GTA 5 are more than other entires like your characters clothes get wet when you fall inside water, you can interact with animals, the number of random events are just so much, you could walk into a shop that is being robbed by an NPC, running for a while will make you sweat, power lines sway in the wind, GPS signals are lost when you enter a tunnel, backfiring cars ignite gas trails, NPCs will compliment you on your car if you spend money customising it, NPCs will even take out their phone and film you if you get up to any wild shenanigans, following female NPCs will make them nervous and they will look over their shoulders…the game has a near-ridiculous level of detail.
@@JustAGuy-IdkWhatElseUNeed Exactly! I didn't hate on GTA 4. I ignored its release that year since I was way more focused on Saints Row 2, but once I played GTA 4, I was hooked. I was into GTA V initially, but later didn't care to finish the story missions...though I did, and got bored since it lacked side missions of infinite quantity.
GTA 4 is the most overated game in the franchise right now. With the most annoying fanbase that refuse to accept reality. There's more to a GTA game than just a serious story. - Exploration without being interupted every 5 minutes by Roman. - Diverse City to explore not a map that looks thesame everywhere like the GTA 4 liberty city. GTA 3 had the Portland docks, shoreside vale dam, the island and many more all missing in GTA 4 liberty city. - San Andreas proved how npcs interaction was crucial as npcs would compliment on your clothes and cars however this feature was missing in 4 and only way to interact with them was shooting them. GTA 5 even improved on San Andreas, allowing you to talk to any npcs whether positively or negatively with a simple press of Y and N on PC. - Epic Missions had been the most crucial part of GTA but 4 had the worst most repeatitve missions in the entire franchise, go to point A shoot out, rinse and repeat. Even 3 had more variety - Radio Stations in GTA 4 has to be a joke. Russian musics in new York like seriously 😂😂😂😂
GTA 5 is a great game. It's still better than most AAA games that come out today. People who point out the fact that its story isn't very deep fail to understand that fun gameplay is the most important thing to a game, not the story. And GTA 5 is extremely fun to play.
I'm probably gonna get hate from the GTA 4 or GTA San Andreas fanboys but imo, GTA V is just as good as the rest of the GTA games, has it's ups and downs and is equally good in it's own ways. The thing I loved about GTA 5 is just how beautiful and cinematic it is. Up-to-date, it's still the best looking GTA there is. (GTA. Not Rockstar Game. We all know that's RDR2) The story is absolutely hilarious and satirical and yes, it is a good story if you understand it properly and exactly what's going on. It's not just about 3 maniacs taking scores and getting up high to where they are. It's about the story of Michael and Trevor and a broken best friendship and how Michael's character develops along the way as he becomes a mentor for Franklin. I say Michael's character develops cuz Ending C is obviously canon. Picking Ending A would mean you're throwing away all the character development that he went through cuz if you hang out with Michael and Trevor after Deathwish, they both apologise to each other. Michael apologises for screwing Trevor over when they were friends and even offers his share of the score money to Trev but Trev declines it as that's not what he wanted. He wanted to fix his friendship with his buddy and find out WHY he did. He did find out why. He had a family which Trevor equally cared for and hence decided to forgive him. And Trevor eventually apologises too for acting the way he did towards Michael and realized that the whole reason he did it was not because he cared for himself but rather he did it for his kids and his family. GTA V story feels more like a movie than any of the other GTAs did. Imo, GTA IV's story was great and miles better than V imo but it didn't necessarily feel cinematic to me. It just felt like a classic 3D universe GTA game with better graphics. That's what GTA V achieved. The most serious moment in the story thus far was Bury the Hatchet. It's my favourite story mission up-to-date cuz of the sheer emotion in the voice acting. I love it. And music in missions and during wanted level? Peak level cinematic gaming. The gun fights, character switching, the races, the chases and all of it, even if they were too easy, felt immersive and entertaining. It was like a mini-interactive movie for me at the time it came out. I've been playing it for 10 years I'd play it over and over again if I have to. GTA V was ahead of it's time. Change my mind. I do understand people getting tired of the same GTA game being the main played one for 10 years straight so naturally people would get tired of it. But honestly, I can see the cycle repeating once GTA VI releases and Rockstar milks it for 10 years straight or even worse 15 years. Most of the GTA V "haters" are just once-fans who have grown tired of it and rightfully so. Eventually they'll revisit and love the game for what it is. One of the best gaming experiences in history. It is one of the best gaming experiences in history because even after 10 years and many fans have grown tired of it, it still holds up till this day and people aren't ready to abandon it.
Maybe a better cinematic experience, but GTA V left out so many things compared to their other games, like a good map, side activities, weapons, story, etc., which is why it's the worst title in the series for me.
I think GTA v story was strategically planned to attract large numbers of sales . A funky fast and furious like story that can never go wrong. GTA iv was more grounded and appealing to original GTA fans . GTA v story brought new fans which preferred more action packed arcade like game. Not to mention GTA online. I agree with you on some points but I have never hated GTA v . The story is quite entertaining and engaging even though some things don’t make sense. More than anything else I’m in love with the BGM of GTA v and GTA online .
The truth is many fans express frustration with GTA V because Rockstar has heavily focused on its online component aka GTA Online. They promised to add Story Expansion in 2014 but it was scrapped in favor of GTA Online. Also the reason why GTA 5 got more hate when it was annoucned to come to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S it led to a perception that the game is being "milked" for profit through microtransactions, rather than investing in new, innovative titles. The only "New Game" that was released from Rockstar was Red Dead Redemption 2 back in 2018 but even then Rockstar neglected its Online counterpart because again they focused more on GTA Online. The lack of significant updates to the single-player experience and the repeated re-releases across multiple console generations further exacerbate this sentiment, making fans feel that Rockstar prioritizes revenue over delivering fresh, engaging content.
Bruh , The only reason that Trevor even saved Michael was because he needed him for the big score, and Trevor literally gets mad at Michael in the last cutscene at morningwood
7:24 the reason trevor came back to michael is so that they can rob the union depository, it is clearly explained in the final cutscene of the mission. Even with that, trevor was still visibily angry with mike during and after the big one. It wasn't until after The Third way that they finally started getting along
Even tho I really like GTA V, what I really wanted in the game was more "background" missions for Trevor and Frank, I mean imagine at least 10 missions each: Frank and Lamar gang related missions and Trevor, Ron and Wade on the desert related with their sells of guns and weapons. All we got is an insane shallow psychopath and a cliché gangbanger who wants to get out of the hood... As the main character of this game, Michael have enough development, imo I will always have more fun playin GTA V over IV. 5: funny missions, beautiful graphics, light story. 4: gray/orange graphics meh, sad story, repetitive missions, but Niko is a great character.
I was in 5th grade and I never played it till 2021. Right now I’m only playing online games from 10 years ago like gta v and Mario kart 8 deluxe. Even though I am getting bored of it and just waiting for gta 6 I think it’s really nice to look at what it was meant to be, even if the lobby feels abandoned.
even gta 5 caused the ylod on my ps3 fat from 2006 and trevor is not a psychopath he is a sociopath because psychopaths do not cry they betray and enjoy doing it on the other hand sociopaths get angry they hate betrayal they came from bad homes abused as a child
gta 5 was fun and cool in 2014 when I tried it on xbox. the online was always ass and never really online due to the toxic community playing solo was always better and funnier overall the map is not fun, the main characters are boring and redundant, secondary character are totally forgetable, the physics is shallow. they truly went quantity over quality in every little aspect of gta v compared to gta iv. edit: the story is despite me playing it at least 5 times from beggining to end totally anonymous in my mind. i hardly remember stuff from it and it didn't ever gave me "that feeling" during the first few missions like any other gta prior 5 did. you kno..that nice feeling of playing a classic game then ultimately to me the biggest killer was online. simply because focusing on multiplayer only after this franchise became what it is due to offline and singleplayer is a insult. any multiplayer content is virtually dead unless you play online, grind to even be able to unlock it, find people to play it with. and ultimately will just die when the servers will be down. contrary to any single player content I will still be able to play with my grandchildren anything multiplayer will disappear and will become a memory only
The map is so much more fun than that of GTA 4. GTA 4 map is very empty. Nice bait though. San Andreas might have the most fun map even though most stuff are just duplicated but 5 Is easily the second with a larger Map than rdr2
I feel like the ending was rushed especially the final mission. The fact that we've had 11 years strong playing this game its just become pretty mundane. Every corner of the map explored, every road driven, every scenario witnessed... unlike GTA 4 which had only 4 or 5 years until GTA V released so there's still plenty of things we never got to fully see or explore. Its not as tiring playing it again as you never overplayed it. Maybe one day we will look back on V with positive memories but that will be a good decade from now or more IMO
I completely agree that now in 2024 GTA 5 can feel tired, it's interesting how even though GTA 4 has a smaller map I still get more enjoyment these days from commiting crime in liberty city opposed to Los Santos. Also, Holy shit dude. I watched all of your Red Dead Redemption 2 videos back in 2018 when the trailers and information were coming out from Rockstar. Everyday after my schooling I'd watch your stuff, I was 13 years old back then and now I've graduated high school and moved out lmfao, it's nice to see you again I noticed you slowed down uploads after it came out and I'm happy you're uploading again Cheers!
Yall dont understand the GTA V story watch DarkViper the fact that trevor doesnt kill michael nor his family is bcuz michael is his best friend while trevor may be a pshyco there are people he does care about even tho his best friend is a prick also if u choose to kill off michael trevor wont ever hang out w you btw i do agree the game became to easy and kinda lets you off a lot
As good as vcs and lcs were, we gotta admit they didnt have anything ground breaking. ALTHOUGH i am not saying they're trash games. They're pretty good.
@@Vak0 Right, and they weren't supposed to be groundbreaking. VCS is my favorite GTA, but LCS & VCS were side games for the PSP, mainly developed by Rockstar Leeds with assistance from Rockstar North while North were working on GTA IV.
@gooeyalarm2347, exactly. It should have been a PS4. PC and Xbox One exclusive at first. The developers would have gotten more time to properly refine and fix the mechanics, gameplay, and story.
It has more interiors than GTA 4. Wtf are you on. GTA 4 didn't even have garages or tattoo shops, saloons or car dealership shops. It had very few interiors like your apartment, strip clubs, train station, clothing stores, restaurants and car wash if I could call that an interior. GTA 5 on the other hand has those stuff I listed above and more like ammunition stores, movie theaters, vanilla unicorn, gentlemen clubs, strip clubs, the hen house, floyd apartment, 24/7 stores, vendors stores, bigger and more detailed police stations, FIB building, los santos custom shops, Bahama mamas west plus those I mentioned earlier and many more plus there are more of these in GTA 5 than GTA 4 for example there are six police stations in GTA 4 with very small interiors and some being duplicates but there are 7 police stations in GTA 5 and the FIB buildings which doesn't exist in GTA 4. There are only 3 safe houses in GTA 4 but apart from the 3 houses like Franklin apartment, Trevor trailer and Michael house, there are 5 more unique apartments that can be purchased in GTA 5. There are total of 21 different restaurants including fast food vendors, dinners and more upscale eateries but there's a total of 20 establishment that player can eat from in GTA 5 apart from the locked cluckin bell and food vendors for example up-n-atom-burger, bean machine and upscale establishment like the Epsilon Center and The Gentry Manor Hotel. If only restaurants were open, there would be about 80 in total. There are 13 clothing stores in GTA 5 meanwhile theres only 6 in GTA 4 including Modo, Perseus, and The Russian Shop. There are only 11 spray and paint in GTA 4 meanwhile there are a total of 18 Los Santos Customs locations where you can customize your vehicle appearance and performance not just losing wanted level and changing vehicle color. There are 5 tattoos shops and 6 barbershop in GTA 5 and none of these exist in GTA 4.
@@SecretMagician In my oppinion they did a really good job with the Game. The story is really well thought out and The Gameplay (Driving and Shooting) is also fun. I like GTA IVs driving and Shooting but i think that just cause its different in V doesnt make it bad like some people say
Gta 5 isn't that bad but i don't think its a good gta game, the story was pretty good however what i didn't like about it was that it barely had any interiors and despite the map being huge about half of it is just mountains, deserts and a steep forest which is cool but thats all there was to it which was massive downgrade to san andreas, as for online it's a mixed bag
I HAD that one friend, who just bought the game, and played online without ever opening the story. And that includes gta5, rdr2, cod, and much more. So he is not my friend anymore:/
Lmfao, drove me crazy when my friends would do that Now I can recognize it's okay to prefer multi-player because some people literally can't engage with a singleplayer narrative since it requires a lot of internal roleplay But yes, drove me nuts
Gta 5 was made a project with so many things and variables into it it made the game muddy and hotchpotch, suitable for the tantrum minds of 9 yr old kids though, only. They say, "too many cooks spoils the broth." Online is fine though 😃: Edit.
GTA strayed away from the immersive fundamentals it was known for. Great story telling and an impecable attention to detail. GTA V felt like it was trying to cater to everyone. I personally feel like IV was better than V. Makes sense why Dan Houser and most of the OGs left after RDR2. I think Strauss Zelnik and the share holders want to turn the game into somthing GTA wasn't supposed to be. I really hope GTA VI goes back to grounding the game. GTA is supposed to be a parody of real life America not some 10 year old boys fantasy world.
Its really unpredictable how GTA 6 will turn out in this aspect given all the internal changes in Rockstar and all the crazy shit that has happened in US politics and media between 2013 and now
Don't think Gta was ever about story but yeah the detail's a big part, the key to a good GTA is fun, destruction, activities, cars, physics and guns. The story focused rockstar games are Max Payne and RDR games and tbh GTA 5 is good at alot of the things that make a GTA game good and the story is REALLY overlooked just a good look at DarkviperAU's videos and you will see it's a good story just not GTA SA or IV level
I can tell you never played GTA 5. It easily has the best story in the franchise It begins with a prologue where 3 criminals take on a heist which goes wrong and Michael gets shot along with Brad while Trevor escapes. After that we see a burial where Michael is watching from behind and his name carved on the tombstone and the game flashforwards to 9 years later and Michael is now a rich guy and family man who is heavily depressed. We have a cutscene where he has a conversation with his therapist where he kinda laments that he misses his crime days while denying that and that's the actual truth about an habit. The camera angle shifts to Franklin and Lamar who are street's hustlers and members of a gang called the families. Franklin's and Michael's life intersect and they take on a heist which is announced on Tv and Trevor finds out that his best friend had faked his death all along because of Michael's dialogue to the guard guy and then comes back for Michael but they end up hugging in out even though it keeps causing them to quarrel frequently along the line and Franklin becoming the peacemaker. It introduces characters from Michael and Trevor past like Lester as they plan to take on their biggest heist ever, the big one. The narrative unfolds as Michael, lured back into a life of crime, teams up with Franklin and Trevor for a series of increasingly ambitious heists. Along the way, they navigate a complex web of criminal alliances and personal conflicts. The plot takes unexpected twists, revealing government involvement, personal betrayals, and moral dilemmas. Michael's troubled family life, Franklin's quest for success, and Trevor's volatile nature add layers to the story. As the characters confront their pasts and face the consequences of their actions, the narrative weaves a tale of crime, redemption, and the blurred lines between right and wrong. The story explores themes of greed, betrayal, and the pursuit of the American Dream, providing a gritty and satirical look at contemporary society.
People like you seriously fail realize there is more to a GTA game than storytelling which is comical considering the series we're talking about. The fourth installment had a great plot but the game itself seriously left a lot to be desired considering the franchise it's a part of especially compared to what came before and after. I can confidently say It is easily the weakest when it comes to the factor of having fun in between said plot which is something that cannot disregarded when playing any video game. The dlc to GTA IV and the 5th installment corrected that issue effortlessly while having decent enough stories to compliment their gameplay which is exactly how it always should be.
The Story is just all around the place and a feeling gives that the story is not meant to be taken seriously. It's more like a movie action drama series then a full depth story
I have my problems with the story of Gta V, its problems become painfully visible when you replay the game and realize that it never had those high points. It felt like Rockstar tried to appeal to everyone to keep them interested. This drastically impacted the eye to detail. (not a lot of playable interiors etc). Things that were there in the previous titles. I think that GTA V is a great game, its hated because its been overplayed by the community.
I feel like red dead 2 cleared every singleplayer complaint people had of GTA 5 It had a more realistic and emotional story (except for guarma and arthur somehow surviving the o'driscolls beating him and shooting him in the shoulder) It had WAY more things to do in the open world, infact you could have hundreds or thousands of hours on red dead and had it since day 1 and still miss out on some things The ending isn't some overly happy "every problem is solved" ending, the ending of rdr2 instead focuses on john trying to stray away from the outlaw life with his family after arthur died and the gang fell, then John proceeds to go after micah and kill him, which alerts the pinkertons that he's still alive ultimately resulting in john's death in rdr1. Not to mention the major villain improvement. However GTA 5 is still one of my favorite games ever made and will always hold a special place in my heart
GTA 5 and Online (both online versions) was my first Grand Theft Auto experience. Buddies knew I liked cars, and it was multiplayer so I tried it. Never finished the story. But I did get very into lowriders and car meets. I had a torn apart controller and learned how to do SOME of what ghostseven5 was doing and was in video game car heaven. But every single cool meet would get decimated by haters. That’s when I left. Very cool game and even cooler physics on the switches. Loved flexing high 3s with the homies. o7 Backbone420
Honestly GTA5 would be looked back on a lot more fondly if we were getting GTA 8 by now, it's because we've had 11 years to wait for another entry that R* have ruined their own game with online micro-transactions and playing it on PS5 feels incredibly dated. We're just sick and tired of the one game.
GTA5 is the one game that wasn’t mass effect 2 or sims 4 that I could get my girlfriend to play outside of those games she didn’t play anything else but now she is opening up to GTA4 too I can’t wait to hear her opinion on it
I can answer that simple question. Its because when game came out i was only 1 and now i am 12 and still can’t play it plus my dad doesn’t let me play it and people get mad
Lack of creativity Lack of the theme of the franchise 2018 online... Futuristic weapons & vehicles Science fiction / action game Not enough enterable building + GTA 5 was 🚫 a state it was just 1 city and a country side Storymode should of been separated but still been able to character switch the same way.....
I left the game 5 years ago It was a fun time I used to grind 24/7 just for a slow sedan car At least it felt rewarding because it was actually earned I also used to roam the city like a beggar searching for modders to beg for some money To be honest my character was a real loser throughout his life in the game It was such a fun game but microtransactions have really destroyed it inside and out Even if I could I would never pay for an in-game currency as it clearly ruins the point of a video game
Its probably because of milking GTA Online, and its 11 years without new GTA and GTA 7 will be probably in next 10-15 years(if they will release RDR3 in that time) we probably get at least 5(probably 10) Yakuza games in that time xD Oh and GTA Online was destroyed by Doomsday Heist and After Hours(Cars with guns and Depressor MK2)
Because we are all sick of GTAV's constant milking. Most of us were kids/teenagers upon release on the PS3 and XBOX 360 (I was 13 at the time myself). Now we are grown adults and nothing has changed it's the same old boring GTAV just on newer consoles and PC.
I disliked GTAV not because of the story or anything really. Yes they did remove some smaller details and features but not a big deal but I hated the fact that they are consistently milking the game to death at this point. from ps3 to ps5 and they still refuses to give us a new game until now and online mode is in absolute shambles due to modders. The thing is that online mode is prob the thing that ppl stick with for the most part but the issue is that rockstar refuses to fix any hacker issues and they are threatening the safety of players at this point but they would only care if the hackekrs threatened their shark card sale. GTAV stands as a money making machine now instead of a proper game which is why I hate it.
Ive always felt the story falls apart onceTrevor is introduced the narrative keeps changing one second Trevor is looking for revenge from Michael the next mission he's helping him Trevor is telling Franklin how much of a snake Michael is but yet in still helps out on heists and anything Michael asks him to do the sti story is all over the place it never sticks to a central theme
I just started playing gta v how many weeks ago and i just hate it sooo much because its sooo tedious. Even the basic transport missions sometimes youll have cops coming after you and even after you get killed the wanted level is not reset not only that but theres a timer and best part is i cant remove it with vip ability and shit. Its sooo fucking annoying and tedious like of you buy a shit business then you just wasted all your hard work and you have to deal with it. The grind feels like shit. The special cargo is a massive middle fingers. Imagine collecting 46 crates then losing all of it. All that time wasted. Fuck this game
I'm a GTA fan, but I don't like GTA V. I'm considering the GTA O and the GTA V are two different games, because of the R*'s mentality, so my opinion is just about the GTA V. I think the GTA 5 is a good game. A good game, like the Sleeping Dogs, the Saints Row The Third, Watch Dogs, or any other games in that style. But the GTA V is a bad GTA game. The R* made huge sucess with the previous games, and the GTA V can't race with them. I think the problem is, beside the bad story, is the engine. The game could be better, if they delay the game a half year, and develop to the PS4, and XBox One, not an 8 year old hardware. Just look at the RDR2. How many times better is that? The PS4 devkits existed before the launch of the consoles, so the R* had time, but they wanted money. At the end, we got a game, with a bad story, and a huge, empty map. I don't hate the game, because of one thing, and that is Michael. I like Michael's character. I can't say that about the GTA Online. I hate that game. That game is disgusting...
It's not GTA Online. I am not 'just tired' of the game. It's not 'nostalgia' for GTA 4. I have the same nostalgia for RDR2 Contrary to what commenters like to think, I felt this way about GTA 5 since it released and put it down on my first playthrough before GTA Online even released. I simply could not get into GTA 5. Because I could not rampage the same way as GTA 4. I could not connect with the dozens of under baked characters and make sense of the story. Most of them are forgettable. The map felt unfinished and did not leave a lasting impression like Liberty City or San Andreas with special auras. There were far too many weapons that felt too similar and less impactful. Driving was not engaging or challenging anymore. It's still an ok game but it has always been one of the weakest Rockstar games objectively. I agree that GTA 5 needed another year in the oven and delayed to next-gen only. This game had SO much more potential and could've been on the same level as GTA SA, GTA 4 and RDR2 if they were given time to actually finish it. Rather than a middle child that everybody will forget about once the next one comes out 😢 Seeing the way GTA 6 is going I am hopeful it will be fully worthy of the GTA name, the de-facto GTA. And we can finally put GTA 5 behind us for good Good video!
I can understand every point of this video, except the story, sure the villains are boring but the thing with the three protagonists was pretty interesting and was very well done and the relationship and tension between Micheal and Trevor was also well done imo, because killing or trying to kill Micheal wouldn't really fit Trevor. Trevor needed Micheal for the big job and wasn't really so sad about brads dead, especially after realizing that Brad never changed like in those e-mails from Dave Norton, because brad was hated by both Trevor and Micheal. Trevor also never would hurt Micheals family and is just to loyal to do something like that.
Trevor isnt a psychopath but is actually closer to a sociopath. There is a significant difference and its why i like him so much. If trevor was a psychopath i dont think anyone would like his character.
The main campaign isn’t much of a story I feel like the story already happens and then we just see what happens after the actual story and the only good protagonist is Franklin, GTA online is being milked to its very last drops to this day, 85% of the buildings are only accessible via loading screen, the map is just a facade. Probably the best mediocre game of alll time 😅
gta 4 had incredible characters, storytelling and brilliant missions, jaw dropping graphics for 2008, but the game had very less things to do except missions which made the open world not so interesting, because of the storytelling and graphic leap, rockstar compromised on the stability, future proofing and fun of the game, nevertheless i absolutely love gta 4 and its my favourite gta 5 again improved graphics, made it more vibrant, added a lot of unique things and added some things apart from the story to make it less boring, but it compromised on the storyline and the feeling of playing a "grand theft auto" was contradicted i hope gta 6 can create a balance between both the open world, features and the storyline
Correct and now I'm freaken annoyed with GTA 5 and I'm completely done with it.

GTA 5 is not a perfect game.
GTA V. In 10 years, it’ll probably be the same shit, just shifted a generation. People will lump IV with that of San Andreas and Vice City, look back on the “best” GTA (GTA V) and hate on GTA VI for whatever reason.
I think there are some aspects of IV that are genuinely better than V, but people either think of IV fondly due to nostalgia, or just are trying way to hard to be different by hating on the popularity of V
been saying this for so long nostalgia makes a huge difference in how we perceive the games. Before it was an experience now it’s a product
I disagree, thats a bad excuse to invalidate people's gripes with the game.Same thing when some people say that Street Fighter 4 was shat on by people leading up to 5 the same way 5 was leading up to 6 when it absolutely wasn't

I really hope Rockstar does that in 6 as well, made the whole thing feel like a TV show
michael character was such a beta, offing him mid story would have been a pleasure. esentially finishing the game with just 1 guy would have been better. having all the money, assets and secondary encounters concentrated on a character only rather then 3 and never being able to really own anything without using glitches or trainers for money
(a good exemple is the 150mil. golf club)
i aint readin allat... but maybe yea sure..

I don't get it man, why do people just focus on the bad stuff on games instead of the real good stuff?

Even 3 had more variety
- Radio Stations in GTA 4 has to be a joke. Russian musics in new York like seriously 😂😂😂😂

Still better than all of them technically and only second by San Andreas. I believe 4 is the 3rd best objectively 😊
True it still looks than most aaa games
fr just let me do heists and setups solo, people dont like online, story was masterpiece
We all know that's RDR2)
The story is absolutely hilarious and satirical and yes, it is a good story if you understand it properly and exactly what's going on.
I completely agree, I think that GTA 5s cinematic approach fit its theme perfectly, I loved that it had an original soundtrack as well and it BANGS
Maybe a better cinematic experience, but GTA V left out so many things compared to their other games, like a good map, side activities, weapons, story, etc., which is why it's the worst title in the series for me.

Dropping Euphoria was 2 steps back.
7:24 the reason trevor came back to michael is so that they can rob the union depository, it is clearly explained in the final cutscene of the mission. Even with that, trevor was still visibily angry with mike during and after the big one. It wasn't until after The Third way that they finally started getting along
Even tho I really like GTA V, what I really wanted in the game was more "background" missions for Trevor and Frank, I mean imagine at least 10 missions each: Frank and Lamar gang related missions and Trevor, Ron and Wade on the desert related with their sells of guns and weapons.

then ultimately to me the biggest killer was online. simply because focusing on multiplayer only after this franchise became what it is due to offline and singleplayer is a insult. any multiplayer content is virtually dead unless you play online, grind to even be able to unlock it, find people to play it with. and ultimately will just die when the servers will be down.
contrary to any single player content I will still be able to play with my grandchildren anything multiplayer will disappear and will become a memory only
The map is so much more fun than that of GTA 4.
Also,
Holy shit dude. I watched all of your Red Dead Redemption 2 videos back in 2018 when the trailers and information were coming out from Rockstar. Everyday after my schooling I'd watch your stuff, I was 13 years old back then and now I've graduated high school and moved out lmfao, it's nice to see you again I noticed you slowed down uploads after it came out and I'm happy you're uploading again
Cheers!
It’s not hated as an actual game. simple as rockstar likes money and doesn’t make new games
Well they do make new games, it's just they put every studio on one massive project now in days so it takes longer
But comes out better!
@@CrackedJust1nwhich is why you're bored 😂
Well, I don't hate GTA5, and I also like GTA4. I just do not have much of a issue with them.
BRO THAT DANGONRONPA MUSIC IN THE BACKGROUND TOOK ME BACK OMG
Me too man, me too.
trevor at his core is just a scared little boy, he wouldn't kill and eat his only friend because him and his mother are his only ancor
Great video once again Just1n!
erm actually you mean the leap from GTA vice city stories (2006) to GTA 4 (2008)
Many ppl didn’t play vcs and lcs
As good as vcs and lcs were, we gotta admit they didnt have anything ground breaking. ALTHOUGH i am not saying they're trash games. They're pretty good.
@@Vak0 Right, and they weren't supposed to be groundbreaking. VCS is my favorite GTA, but LCS & VCS were side games for the PSP, mainly developed by Rockstar Leeds with assistance from Rockstar North while North were working on GTA IV.
I think a problem with gta 5 was that it was rushed. There were so many unused ideas like every building being enterable in the game
How would that be possible on the ps3 and Xbox360?
@gooeyalarm2347, exactly. It should have been a PS4. PC and Xbox One exclusive at first. The developers would have gotten more time to properly refine and fix the mechanics, gameplay, and story.
It has more interiors than GTA 4
GTA ONLINE is Hated not gta 5 single player
and the BAD news is GTA ONLINE is gonna be on gta 6 as well
Gta 5 isn't that bad but i don't think its a good gta game, the story was pretty good however what i didn't like about it was that it barely had any interiors and despite the map being huge about half of it is just mountains, deserts and a steep forest which is cool but thats all there was to it which was massive downgrade to san andreas, as for online it's a mixed bag
Hated by who?
I HAD that one friend, who just bought the game, and played online without ever opening the story. And that includes gta5, rdr2, cod, and much more. So he is not my friend anymore:/
Lmfao, drove me crazy when my friends would do that
Now I can recognize it's okay to prefer multi-player because some people literally can't engage with a singleplayer narrative since it requires a lot of internal roleplay
But yes, drove me nuts
@@CrackedJust1n yes, but theese games have a sooo good and detailed story mode.
(Btw thanks for responding)
Gta 5 was made a project with so many things and variables into it it made the game muddy and hotchpotch, suitable for the tantrum minds of 9 yr old kids though, only. They say, "too many cooks spoils the broth."
Online is fine though 😃: Edit.
Its really unpredictable how GTA 6 will turn out in this aspect given all the internal changes in Rockstar and all the crazy shit that has happened in US politics and media between 2013 and now
Since when was gta known for great storytelling? Have you even played more than 1 gta game.
It easily has the best story in the franchise
It begins with a prologue where 3 criminals take on a heist which goes wrong and Michael gets shot along with Brad while Trevor escapes.
Trevor saved Michael bc of The Union Depository. Not bc he wanted to.
Flaws in its story and shady business practices don't make GTA5 the worst GTA.
The Story is just all around the place and a feeling gives that the story is not meant to be taken seriously. It's more like a movie action drama series then a full depth story
I like gta 5 but I don’t like how I had to buy it 4 times on ps3 ps4 pc ps5
One sentence. People miss the old look and/or controls of the older games, mainly just nostalgia though.
I feel like red dead 2 cleared every singleplayer complaint people had of GTA 5
It had a more realistic and emotional story (except for guarma and arthur somehow surviving the o'driscolls beating him and shooting him in the shoulder)
It had WAY more things to do in the open world, infact you could have hundreds or thousands of hours on red dead and had it since day 1 and still miss out on some things
The ending isn't some overly happy "every problem is solved" ending, the ending of rdr2 instead focuses on john trying to stray away from the outlaw life with his family after arthur died and the gang fell, then John proceeds to go after micah and kill him, which alerts the pinkertons that he's still alive ultimately resulting in john's death in rdr1.
Not to mention the major villain improvement.
However GTA 5 is still one of my favorite games ever made and will always hold a special place in my heart
i think it’s just that this game overstayed it’s welcome
I feel like it was rushed
Lack of creativity
Lack of the theme of the franchise
2018 online... Futuristic weapons & vehicles
Science fiction / action game
Not enough enterable building
+ GTA 5 was 🚫 a state it was just 1 city and a country side
Storymode should of been separated but still been able to character switch the same way.....
Because its the only GTA thats gone Backwards in Physics and Immersion, not Forwards…
YAY MORE JUST1N EDGE MATERIAL 🗣🙏🔥💯⁉
Just wanna say your videos are very enjoyable to watch and well produced.
Because we are all sick of GTAV's constant milking. Most of us were kids/teenagers upon release on the PS3 and XBOX 360 (I was 13 at the time myself). Now we are grown adults and nothing has changed it's the same old boring GTAV just on newer consoles and PC.
I am tired of it but it’s not a bad game single player is still really good
Singleplayer is amazing
I stopped playing back in 13-14 after I beat it and played online a little bit
Ive always felt the story falls apart onceTrevor is introduced the narrative keeps changing one second Trevor is looking for revenge from Michael the next mission he's helping him Trevor is telling Franklin how much of a snake Michael is but yet in still helps out on heists and anything Michael asks him to do the sti
story is all over the place it never sticks to a central theme
People dont hate GTA 5, They hate GTA Online and how rockstar stopped making more games
GTA 5 was deffo not supposed to last till now but maybe be superseded in 2016-17
It's not GTA Online. I am not 'just tired' of the game.
It's not 'nostalgia' for GTA 4. I have the same nostalgia for RDR2
Contrary to what commenters like to think, I felt this way about GTA 5 since it released and put it down on my first playthrough before GTA Online even released.
Rather than a middle child that everybody will forget about once the next one comes out 😢
Seeing the way GTA 6 is going I am hopeful it will be fully worthy of the GTA name, the de-facto GTA. And we can finally put GTA 5 behind us for good
Good video!
No matter how biblical some debates sound, the simple answer pretty much boils down to "No Niko, no good game"
Rockstar has milk GTA 5 3 generations of consoles that's GTA 6 is taking so long
Because I been playing it for 10 years. Im tired of it and now i hate it
Oh Man i WISH I was in Your situation gonna work for 4 months Just to buy a ps4 to play GTA 5
Other games also but when The only "game" thing you can afford is a 2019 cellphone yeah You pretty much is gratiful Of any shit
Because they forgot (they didn’t) about the single player.
Trevor isnt a psychopath but is actually closer to a sociopath. There is a significant difference and its why i like him so much. If trevor was a psychopath i dont think anyone would like his character.
"And GTAO also introduced...
*an add*
"...MICROTRANSACTIONS".
Lmao that was genius
Watched the whole video bro nice
Why did you skip trough 3 min 😂💀
Ur blowing up
Not me thinking this is the best game ever
6 words.
Grand theft auto online and microtransactions
I love GTA V
Bro, people hated it now because it was released on ps5 and xbox series x
The main campaign isn’t much of a story I feel like the story already happens and then we just see what happens after the actual story and the only good protagonist is Franklin, GTA online is being milked to its very last drops to this day, 85% of the buildings are only accessible via loading screen, the map is just a facade. Probably the best mediocre game of alll time 😅
gta 4 had incredible characters, storytelling and brilliant missions, jaw dropping graphics for 2008, but the game had very less things to do except missions which made the open world not so interesting, because of the storytelling and graphic leap, rockstar compromised on the stability, future proofing and fun of the game, nevertheless i absolutely love gta 4 and its my favourite
gta 5 again improved graphics, made it more vibrant, added a lot of unique things and added some things apart from the story to make it less boring, but it compromised on the storyline and the feeling of playing a "grand theft auto" was contradicted
i hope gta 6 can create a balance between both the open world, features and the storyline
Gta 4 missions were just shootouts and chase missions
I absolutely loved gta 5s story i played through it at least 10 times through
Ngl I like gta v alot lol
Me too lol
Fail any mission 3 times to skip through the whole "game".
People hate GTA 5?
I love both games
