Even if it was 3” dia, I would split it also. No round logs allowed.😂 great to see the family all working together. Some of the best times and memories for everyone!
Hey Bob, great to see the entire family involved. The more hands the quicker work gets done. Quality family time.Looks like you have a slice of paradise on your hands there. Cheers Woody !!!
You’re off to a good start for next heating season Bob. I’m sure the reason I still enjoy processing firewood is exactly what you’re doing with your family.
Hey Bob, Nice to see the whole fam working. Looks like a nice place you have there. Maybe you'll see this comment, video I see is 9months old. Anyway hello from Jon and Ginny (Mis Beaver)if you forgot. Lol😂
Nice video Bob, love that your family’s out there with you, I would like to make it to Paul Bunyan this year and meet you in person. Tell Chris and the boys I said hi from smoking and splitting, tell Chris and the boys I said hi, still loving that 17 VSC

Really nice property you have there Bob and so cool to see the family involved and making memories. Be sure to have fun along the way with your new firewood adventure.
That 12 way makes quick work of the large rounds. If the blades were a bit longer on the outer edged I think it would split a bit more cleanly. Nice video getting the family all involved
Just subscribe to you I love watching your whole family do it good job So I'll be following you people have a good day stay safe stay healthy stay Happy and we'll see you again my friend
Hi, Arlo. Good video, Bob. A Wolferidge sure would be nice. My budget doesn't allow for one. Smaller splits work well for me. Large splits just smolder too long and dont give me enough heat all at once. Thanks for making great conent, Chris
Make sure you leave room to setup and test the first Wolfe Ridge firewood processor. As far as small wood goes, I don't split ash or pine that's under 4in diameter. Everything else I'll split in half so it dries. You'll want a conveyor, or two people, to take the wood off the splitter when running the 12-way wedge. How many cords a year is your first big goal? I'm hoping to cut and split 50 cords this year. So far I've got 45 cords to go. LOL, time to get cutting and splitting!
I think this year realistically 10-15 cords maybe. Not going too crazy yet. I would love a conveyor, would be a huge deal. Going to clear out the new wood yard spot and make a game plan.
So, it really depends on your end goal. I LOVE this 28C, and for the logs I'm doing it will be perfect. Smaller rounds I would say 14 inch it's awesome. Yes the 12 way makes more chaff and you have less size control than with a vertical, but it's one push and done. So there are trade offs. Check out the comparison video Firewood on the Hill did, between the 28C and the 17 VS. He had some BIG rounds and timed in on both machines.
Why not split into the trailer and save a step? It looks like the splitter tray will slide right in the end of your trailer. It will save everyone's backs. Great video.
To be honest, I was too lazy to nose the trailer into where the end of the splitter is. But. For next time that’s what I’m going to do. Thanks for watching! Will have part 2 hopefully next week.
Before you start dumping wood chips down your roads and trails you need to watch firewood and the furnaces videos about the mess his wood yard is chips decompose and after time with rain and weather it makes a soupy gooo mess
Fresh chips from the chipper can, and will, puncture vehicle tires. That stage can last a few weeks until they weather a bit. A good rain helps that process.
Firewood is best made with the whole family involved. Great job my friend!
Thank you, more to come!
Awesome to see the whole family getting involved! Great looking property. Can’t wait to see it evolve. Good stuff Bob 👊🏻
Thanks Todd!
Awesome...get to work!
We all felt it the next day! LOL
Good looking bunch Bob. One big happy family
Thank you Tim!
Great family time in the woodyard! Can’t wait to see how it grows👍👍
Thanks for watching, it was really a good day!

Yeah I just can't do rounds for firewood, it's gotta be split. Great memories being made for sure. Thanks for watching, Doug!
Great video!!
Awesome that you got your family helping you!
Your little boy was cracking me up sitting on that log like he was 😂
Enjoyed it!!

You are venting there good job
Thanks for watching!
cool to see kids rolling the logs and getting into it
Getting back to this real soon, thanks for watching!
Looks like some nice totes. Good to see the kiddos helping out.
Hit a road block, the tractor can't lift them when full - LOL! Ballast time.
@BacktoBob1 need a set of tines for on 3pt to lift tote on back as balast, then pick 1 up on front.
@@BertsCustomCuts I’m going to start with getting the rear tires filled. There was plenty of power in the loader to lift it at least.
That 12 way is so cool!
One would work well on your 35SHO...
Great family day in the woodyard!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Thanks for watching!
I love splitting smaller, being able to palm the wood makes our customers very happy, and it dries quicker

Making firewood is a fun task. Thanks for watching!
That is a beautiful piece of property!
Thank you very much! I wish I had video from before we made the campsite, it was a wooded area there before.

I feel like the fire is much easier to control with smaller splits. Thank you for coming along with us!
I split round ones also think it might roll out of fireplace and start a fire that's why I do it safely to me

Was that a Buff you were wearing on your head? If so, rockin' roll!
@@TravisDoesFirewood Haha idk what they’re actually called. But keeps sweat out of my face that’s why I wear them.
Darn you bob, I keep going back and forth between horizontal and vertical, i thought I was decided on the VSC, but that 28C puts out a pile of wood...
