The heat shield in the corner is very cool (pun intended). Dairy barns are disappearing in our region. It's good to see some of the old material reused.👍
For the squeaky latch try graphite or aluminum anti seize grease. Nice stove I am thinking about getting this for my 600 sqft cabin in the ADK. Any updates you would like to share with me?
@@jonathanlozier4329 It’s been great, burning right now actually. For a 600 sq ft cabin I think it would be amazing. It’s a touch small for a 1500 sq ft house LOL. Some day when we build a cabin this stove will end up there, and I’ll get something a touch bigger for home. But it has been a great stove.
@BacktoBob1 I use a Avalon Olympic insert for a 2k sqft home...keeps it nice...inwish I installed the cold air intake , that seems to be a useful option.
I also have this model. I find the air vent makes little difference when you slide it all the way down, fire burns a touch slower, that’s it. What I’ve done is cover the round air intake on the back with aluminum foil. I find it makes a noticeable difference, slows down the burn speed and extends the burn time. Works for me, I’m sure Moroso would not recommend this lol!
Hello from Maine! I was blessed to get a 7110 this summer. I haven’t hooked it up yet. It looks as though it only has only been used a few winters. But I was wondering if I’m missing any parts above the lower heat baffles. Mine has a white insulation blanket that simply rests on the lower baffles. Is that how yours is? Thanks for this excellent video!!
@@jdotte So basically yeah there are two big metal pieces that sit up there, and then that white insulation just sits up there. Hard to believe. Mine looks a little rough but I’m surprised not worse based on how the flames a right up against it.
@@BacktoBob1 thanks for the reply! Yeah hard to believe that’s the design. Is there also fire brick above the insulation? I’ll have to investigate mine.
I was a woodheater installer for 6 years. Morso were not common in my neck of the woods, but I did fit a few. They burn hot - like, 'fires of hell and damnation' hot. As for the squeak, have you tried using graphite? Might last longer; it has worked for me on some things before...👍
@@BacktoBob1 No need for 68 F steady. Use the wood stoves as we do...for decades. Sometimes the mornings will be in the 50s F , BUTT with coals the wood will warm within an hour or so. Not a big deal to temp put extra layers on. Adapt. Learn the species and split size for overnight fires.
I heat with wood looks perfect to me I have a pellet stove in the basement a wood insert upstairs the insurance company wanted pictures if you do it right its ok

Thank you! I got barn wood from the same guy, and used that in our living room for a feature wall.
Awesome you used the double bit! Relaxing fire heat
I love it! I need to get a bigger stump at home to use it on.
That's a nice little woodstove.
Nice stove Bob! Nothing better than wood heat👍🔥👍
Thank you! Especially after working a cold day outside. Coming in by this wood stove is so satisfying.
Love the stove! Nice install Bob👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Todd!
Nicely done Bob👍
Thank you! 👍
Nice stove! Wood heat is the best!

Didn’t know I had the same stove as you! I’m on my 3rd season with mine. It’s a quality stove, only complaint from me is the short burn times.
Agreed!

@ I’ve noticed that as well. The last 3/4” of sliding control on the left makes 80% of the adjustment. Kind of annoying.

Not really. I’ll make another video when it’s time for first fire, getting close here in Wisconsin but 80 degrees tomorrow 🤦♂️🤷🏻♂️
@@BacktoBob1 26 tonight here in Maine!

That stove is a great support for your natural gas heat.

I have not tried graphite, good idea!
What's your furnace thermostat set at ? Too bad that Morso handle was not set right for use.
@@annaaron3510 I keep my furnace set to 68. It usually doesn’t need to run again until 5-6AM if I stop feeding the fire at 10PM the night before.

@@annaaron3510 I like the way you think. Kids are getting older so it’ll be easier to do this now.
The heat cooks off the oil.
Makes total sense. I might try some graphite.
