You don't need to do all that kindling process. I have a 6143B, a smaller version of this stove. Layer wood on the grate, place a fire stick in, layer wood all the way up to your desired height, skip the matches and get a butane torch (you will thank me), light the fire stick, aim the butane torch up the flew and it will immediately begin drafting, and leave the door cracked until she's burning good and close the door. Adjust the damper if you like after she gets up to temperature. If your glass is getting soot on it you need to operate at higher temperatures and ensure your moisture content in your wood is low. If I try to run my stove overnight I run into this problem as the damper is usually way low. Good video... Enjoyed it
