The k20a3 is not much off from the a2. The head has a little more compression and the block has oil squirters and an oil cooler.

Just bought one today with 134,000 miles with new tires,rotors,pads and clutch. If I do a cold air intake, race header, a2 cams and a tune will it be as fast as an Type S?
Sorry to bring up questions on an old video mate. Just wondering if in the case I put K20A2 Pistons on the stock K20A3 Rods, would it need to be tuned to compensate for the added compression? If so that kind of eliminates the point of being a budget build. I'm just aiming for a little bump in hp so i'll be sticking around the 230-250hp range.

What about reducing the mass of rotating assembly’s inside the engine. Lighter crank, light pullys, delete everything that doesn’t have to be there, light flywheel.
I found a really really cheap K20a3 debating on grabbing it or just waiting for a cheap A2 to come back around again. I should’ve went this route but hey I wanted to build a unicorn and 5 grand into it Still aways to go I could’ve had a damn z1 swap. But wen this builds done definitely going k

If you’ve been around my channel for a while you’d know this but seems to me your passing through and jumped to comments without even watchin this lol

I'm the second owner of this Si Previous owner left it @ 187,000 mi I have replaced the knock sensor, vtec solenoid , the alternator , one coilpack, sparkplugs , the entire front end suspension, bushings, rodends , ball joints , the engine needs a valve adjustment , but it runs perfectly fine .
@@christopherrogers8316 I am starting to believe this car is reliable like you say . , clutch still chirps second gear lol , I think it's long overdue for a shop manual suggested valve adjustment but the engine sounds and runs perfectly fine to me ,my only concern is the gas milage this 10% ethenol gasoline is total garbage for these older H ondas . I still say Honda should have made this 02 Civic Si a six speed seriously , love this car it has its quirks and it's not common to see like other civics . It sure is not the fastest but it's good enough for me I have a heavy foot and I drive it hard .
seen a lot of compression variety from wiseco. if you mean which compression ratio that depends on how much power you want to make and what octane you wanna run
with the wiseco pistons and high compression would you have to change the head on this engine or any other aspects of the engine other than a tune? i have a k20a3 at a shop from an impounded vehicle and want to swap it into my em2 for a little sleeper build.

So I can Just bore out my cylinders and put higher compression pistons in my a3 and that's it? I am in the 200 horsepower range?? Me and my grandpa are going to be rebuilding an k20a3 and I told him if I am going to be rebuilding I want to upgrade what is your suggestion

you MUST replace rings! bearings depends on condition/desire same as timing chain

if your down with higher octanes then go for it. potentially 300whp depending on head of choice and the head mods

bhadz100 yes you can convert the head to full ivtec like that. In your case I’d say go for it

You only need to overbore if there's damage. Make your choice after you've watched all the a3 videos
