How long does this actual repair take?
From start to finish about an hour plus the time to paint.
There's a wall clock mounted right next to the door that is shown throughout the video. Provides an excellent time reference! 👍
Can you use Bondo glazing and spot putty from ace hardware for this job? And what kind of tool were using where you hammered first?
Thank you
What is the tool called you used to recess the hole using the hammer?
Anita
That’s a “punch”
They come in all sizes and styles. That was a very common flat faced punch you can get it in a little set at Home Depot, Lowe’s, harbor freight for $10-20
@@jordanlawson6132 thank you!
This video was great! Everything worked fine for us except the bondo with gardener keeps showing through. We did two coats of primer then two coats of blue paint and thought we were done. Woke up this morning and the bondo is showing through. We just primed again. Is this normal?
No that is not normal. The only thing I can think of is that the bondo was not sanded to be even with the door. Thanks for watching.
How long did it take you ?
Great instructions
Glad it was helpful!
Very nice!
Thanks for the visit
Thank you, great video.
You are welcome!Thanks for watching
Thank you good sir
You're welcome
Looks perfect
It looks like a new door again
잘 봤습니다. 많은 도움이 되네요. 감사합니다.
Thanks for watching.
So question, what is the purpose of the denting?
To create a void to fill it
Can you spot paint the door, or did you repaint the entire door?
I did paint the whole door.
Helllo my friend what type of paint did you use. I have a metal door and it didn't come out like this.
Did you prime the door first or just paint it? Don't forget to subscribe.
HI, What kind of Primer did you apply ? Did you ever apply a White Porcelain paint ?
Just a regular primer that you would by at a big box store.
Good job!
Thank you! Cheers!
What kind of paint did you use?
I used a semi gloss interior paint
You can use a foam fun and shoot some foam in the holes, then after it has expanded dig a little out, then fill with Bondo
Thanks for watching.
@@getitdonehomerepair thanks to people like you making cool videos
We had a guy accidently install the wrong brackets on bath partitions, they tried to fill to holes and touch up paint and ordered new dividers before I could tell them to just order more of the large back wall brackets brackets, 2 other guys at the company had the same idea : )
That's what i do for drywall
Will bondo fix rust holes in a steel door?
Yes it will but you should remove the rust before doing the repair or it will come back.
Jim the Home Repair Guy :)
Hi Bill. Thanks for stopping by.
You would get more work time if you used less hardener. You used about double what you need. The key is to make a line from the center of your glob to the outside. That is all you need.
This is horrible advice. I did this and now I have syphilis again...
I wonder if J B weld would work?
👍
help my brother knocked my door idk how to fix it
Very helpful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video!
