- My mum's favourite band from the mid/late 80's!
'Emergency' taken from the 1987 album 'Excess All Areas'.
Band members : Tony Mills (vocals), Steve Harris (guitars), Paddy McKenna (keyboards), Mark Badrick (bass) and Alan Kelly (drums).
Tony Mills is now vocalist with TNT.
Buy it on CD - you won't regret it!! (Well, except me, cos my mum plays it all the time in the car and it's driving me mad!!!)

I remember seeing this band as support of Gary Moore back in 1987. "Emergency" is one of the few songs that remained a personal favourite from the first hearing until today!
I saw them support Gary Moore at the NEC in 87.Went straight out the next day and bought the cassette.great band.

Shy was and is the absolute GREATEST band at least on a technical level of this style and era to have ever come from the U.K. period end of story say no more. Steve Harris and Tony Mills were light years ahead of their peers at the time when this and it's predecessor, Brave The Storm, came out......Amazing songwriting and musicainship for this style and era......

When I was in 7th grade, my mom got me my first heavy metal cassette for Christmas in 1989. It was called "Masters of Metal: Strikeforce Vol. 2" & this song was the third song on side two (sandwiched between Anthrax "Among the Living" & Rush "Tom Sawyer").
JasonL77 others banda featured on that compilation were Akice Cooper, Leathewolf, Rainbow, Kiss, Metal Church
I'm impressed that you recall everyone that was on that old album. Although after a Google search, I realize that I was one year off of when my Mom bought me this. The album was released in 89, so I had to have been in seventh grade when I got it for Christmas.

Did anyone else get hold of their 1989 limited silver edition of "Money"? there is a track on the flip side called "If you want it" which is amazing and as far as i can see hasn't ever been released on any CD/MP3... I would love to hear from anyone who has the mp3 version of it :-)

I remember seeing these back in the, well whenever it was, they was playing guildford uni and we was in there while they were setting up and I think they recorded a live track there too, if I remember rightly. Any way these are in my top ten.

@bonehead5280 I still have the cassette lying around somewhere, but it's pretty worn out after 22 years. It kind of sounds like you're listening to it while standing outside of someones car while the driver is playing it at full blast with all the doors closed & the windows rolled up. (I hope that makes sense.)
