Ain't that the truth. The most interesting scene these days is the e-bike scene imo. A lot of weird and wacky designs coming out. On the other end of the spectrum, you've got companies making e-bikes that look like 1910's/20's motorcycles, which I think is cool af. Also people making their own custom cruiser/chopper e-bikes. Makes me happy to see there's still people out there who have some individuality instead of being grey SUV driving NPC's.
There's a kid at my HS with a "NISMO" biege CVT Altima. Mods include a NISMO banner, skull front liscense plate and chromed wheels. Those are the only mods. He blew a CV joint doing a pull (open diff V6)
FINALLY someone points out that the Ioniq5 is a sharp ass car. I can only hope that EV's look that cool from a manufacturer that doesn't require 10yr powertrain warranty.
@@My.Lame.Perspective I just rebuilt my EJ25 SOHC the other day (managed to make it to 183,000 miles before blowing the original head gasket, but the gasket actually blew due to hydrolock). Was cheaper and faster to rebuild that engine while I take my time rebuilding the 1999 EJ207 I imported from Japan.
@@occamsrazor1285 Yeah I've looked at the SOHC ejs in my Chiltons repair manual and those look easier to finish up quick. 207 should be great, you planning to make big power?
@@My.Lame.Perspective Nope. I'm rebuilding everything to factory spec. I'm doing what I can to make it look like its new from the factory. I do have to use some reproduction stuff (the wing and the R180 rear axles and hubs). I justify it because it really was build on the same assembly line that STI pulled theirs from. Mine just didn't get pulled by them and instead went to the USDM line to get turned into the watered down STI that was the 2.5RS (the bumper covers were STI v5/6 from the factory, the struts were unpainted STI struts, the wing was a ver. 4 wing etc). The real problem is I live in a smog county. I can legally install a 1999 turbo that is the EJ207 (CARB regulations require that it be the same year as the vehicle or newer) BUT we didn't get the turbos here until 2003. I had to get a JDM ECU to run the engine (obviously my USDM EJ25 SOHC ECU can't run the EJ207. The plugs aren't even the same, let alone the missing sensors), and I can't use a USDM ECU because those would be expecting the TGVs that didn't exist yet in 1999 (and Japan never used. They were to met CARB smog standards). Japanese ECUs "speak" JODB, not OBDII, so the computer can't talk to the smog equipment. It's going to be a hell of a time getting that engine refereed, so for now I'm just restoring everything that isn't emissions related. Hense rebuilding the EJ25 SOHC.
@@occamsrazor1285 Holy hell thats nuts. Although I get it, thats wanting to do everything "the right way." I considered cutting emissions out of my build but honestly didn't want to deal with codes, or finding a tuner who can remove codes, so I bought everything new. The secondary Air pump and all that emissions wiring/hoses, getting a performance exhaust that has a high flow cat, all the little details that make an amazing build. But I'm in the same boat, it all takes freaking forever. Having to get a JDM ECU is the cherry on top that would scare me away from a project like that haha. Sounds epic, you documenting your build on a forum or YT, maybe CCF discord? I'd be interested to follow along.
The N Vision 74 is sick as hell, but I agree they will just tease the concept and never make it, even though a lot of people would pay way over sticker to get it.
but they did make it, there's at least one or two complete ones driving around on tracks and such, as far back as 8 months ago, can see it on youtube but it's not production, no
@@My.Lame.Perspective hopefully the tech and design language trickles down. Lots of automakers are going the "80s aesthetic with modern materials" thing with their styling even in the interiors
One of my co-workers owns the Cabriolet version of the Murano. I had to ask her about this car and what does she think. Personally I think these things are ugly as sin. But from what she says, it's the best car she has ever driven mostly for its handling and traction on deep snow. One of her previous cars was a Ford Fusion or something. She really likes the convertible, I told her it looks a bit odd though and she agrees. But she doesn't care how it looks, just mostly for its drivability.
I really wish I knew about your site when I was looking for my car, I burnt 12k on my first that ended up spending more time on jacks than on the road before dying completely. So I ended up grabbing on 02 Accord EX for 1.5k as an emergency replacement with rust eating the shit out of the trap under the rear windshield. But anyway, keep up the good work boys!

I was just guessing the wing would be good. I didn’t know it was the cringe of a century. I was new to cars. Like a teenager getting his first bike. That wing was pain in the ass to fix and bondo my wholes of regret!

@@CollectorCarFeed True, it might come out as a limited seriers run, looks aside, being a hydrogen hybrid really kills its practicality since there are like 10 hydrogen stations in all of USA, also hydrogen tech is expensive, like the toyota mirai starting at 75k...
The blue Jetta commentary was all true except for the ride height comments, Grandpa Feed and uncle Netgear can’t appreciate a slammed car. I hate stance culture but I enjoy slammed cars that aren’t egregious with camber to get fender to lip and goofy ass stretched tires. Idk the car had a lot of cringe shit but if he gets rid of the corny ass stickers and gets rid of the headlight overlays it would be a pretty decent car with some rough paint wet sand that shit and you might get somewhere. Idk man that’s just my opinion
Paying to have you pinch-welds replaced, something that is an ugly cost-cutting measure, why? Cut them off if they are rusted, spot weld whats left and slap on some red-lead or ospho and paint or whatever.
that Black Lagoon intro tho. hell yes!
"Car companies are to afraid to set out and do something different" - I think that's describes all aspects of life today.

5:58 Can confirm. Currently turning my 99 2.5RS coupe into an STI V6 Type R. Probably spent at least $40K on parts and tools so far.
Agreed. I'm around 9k into just a stock engine with basic bolt ons, it adds up fast! 😅

Greatest in terms of sheer mass

lmao. i seen one of those murano cabrio's here in detroit. there are roughly 3000 cabrio's in usa
Had to give the screen a delicious whiff after I saw Netgear rip ass into the camera

Lol they got no idea hyundai is actually making that car in this video. Love to see their reactions now

Hyundai doesn't have a design language. They throw darts at a board of other cars that exist in the market and go "WE CHEATIN OFF OF THIS TODAY"
Will say the double content is slightly annoying, if you watch the live then it's posted a week later. Don't bother posting both 😛
