Holy mother of god... I can't believe I've never heard such masterpiece! Monsieur Franz Liszt truly was a genius! And of course, Hamelin did a wonderful job by playing it, I really liked it!
Being only an amateur living-room pianist, I can't tell you much about these things, but I guess for improving your technique you need a good keyboard only. After all, Liszt had a small piano in his coach, to be able to compose and practise while travelling, and he would always find it very useful. But Liszt didn't really give a damn about what piano he played, as he would perform on all pianos he bumped into in his travelling days! However, the strings often broke under his massive strokes...
Your comment "I guess for improving your technique you need a good keyboard only" is probably the worst advice ever in history of piano, even from someone who is an amateur. The only way to improve technic is by having piano technic acquisition methods strategies, which are kept secret by most piano teachers and concert pianists.
@@crescenzoverdenavi Having a good technique is a question of training long hours every day on finger exercises (Hanon, Czerny), and strengthening the little joint in particular.
@@nathanqi1998 absolutely not, that's the worst one can do. 100%. The opposite actually. Need good methods to acquire technic. Than of course if an already gifted or talented pianist practice those exercises like you say that wouldnt make a differece; but piansit students who dont have talent and ant really persfrom good doing those strenuois long hiurs exercises will make them worse.
Certainly Hamelin can play incredibly fast and generally I enjoy most of his playing. Very often though I think he'd produce better music if he slowed down a bit overall and leave his turbo speed for when it really works.
@@johnpearcey hamelin himself said in an interview from 2016 that he doesnt like the tempo of many interpretations he played in the past and doesnt like it that people focus on his technique.
Sorry, but even though I'm a strong fan of Hamelin, it must be said that he plays too fast in the outer sections of this piece. There's no musical advantage to be had in pushing the tempo to THIS extent

Wow this is the best interpretation of this Liszt's masterpiece ever!
This is my favourite version of the tarantella next to Jando and Cziffra! I also like Berezovsky's and Hoffman's however...
Berrzovskys interpretations always make the most sense. Not too flashy or crazy but not slow and boring. Betrzovsky ftw 👍
0:41 holy shit that speed! It's perfect and clear like it should be! 😎

I believe that he is talking solely about what is possible to achieve via an instrument and not the actual method of gainig technique
Hello there, as far as I know, Liszt played on a Bosendorfer :)

Cool!
Даже сам Лист не смог бы так
сыграть, Марк Андре явление,
сам Бог послал его нам, всё что
он исполняет проникнуто душой
и любовью! Волшебные пальцы!
No need for the likes of Yuja Wang when Hamelin's around. He puts all virtuosos to shame.

It's Jue Wang, and what he played was another version which is entirely different (S.159). That is epic too! I strongly you to check out that too! 😀
Bem rápido, essa é a interpretação que mais gostei
Невероятно изпълнение.
