I remember reading about that,Bonham was upset twords the end and did want to leave and just be a home with his wife and kids, Jason and zoë and not giving a shite about Zeppelin to much. Sometimes it's difficult to believe what you read about famous people and famous bands. I've read this about John Paul Jones as well. Anyone that's played in a band will tell you that you're not going to be "friends" with everyone you play music with. Bands will practice together, record together, take pictures together...but outside of the music, they may not even interact. That's not a big deal in bands. Trust me, I've been in a few.

Dude, first of all, Steve Albini didn't produce Walking Into Clarksdale. He engineered it. Jimmy of course was the producer. Second, Albini never had a "slump." He worked constantly with whoever he wanted.
You're right about the producing credit - Plant and Page produced, that's my slip of the tongue. However, from my understanding, work became difficult after In Utero for Albini? When I said 'slump', I meant a financial slump, not a creative one! This is from The Guardian: For a while after In Utero, work started to dry up. Smaller bands assumed Albini was now too big to work with them; bands signed to major labels were no longer approaching him. “That was direct fallout from [major labels] blaming me for Nirvana getting uppity,” Albini told me. (Rossdale recalled that Interscope founder Jimmy Iovine told him: “You took a real gamble” about the band’s insistence on working with Albini.) Opening a studio is not cheap, and after buying the building that would become Electrical Audio in 1995, Albini worried that he might not tough it out. “I went broke several times, down to my last dollar, building the studio,” he said. He sold old recording equipment, old records, even the guitars he used in Shellac, the new band he’d started after Rapeman. Then in 1997 he was thrown an unexpected financial lifeline from Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, formerly of Led Zeppelin, who were making their first studio record as a duo and decided to see if Albini was available. (In a 1998 interview, Plant said he was a fan of Albini’s dating back to Songs About Fucking.) The money and prestige from that album, Walking into Clarksdale, which was recorded at London’s Abbey Road Studios, helped keep Electrical Audio in business, and more work soon followed.
They liked each other but they spent so much time together touring, and in the studio, they wanted to be with their families when they have free time. They had a magical chemistry when playing together as Led Zeppelin. After Bonzo died, they went their own ways. I do think JPJ and Jimmy were less than supportive to Robert when his son passed away. Then Robert and Jimmy were rather rude to JPJ with the No Quarter Plant and Page tour. However, they will always be known as Led Zeppelin.
There was devil worship pact, that makes me sick hearing that crap. You can be interested in someone’s beliefs or story, without falling into it. Some people will believe anything they are told, so what he bought the house, it was a beautiful place.
Plant & Bonham were friends & lived closer to each other, they’d hang out & party at Bonham’s. I believe Plant & Page were pretty good friends too, but Plant him when recording Presence. After Plant & families accident, Plant wanted to be home with them, not in another country recording from a wheelchair. I think Plants son’s funeral, was another big issue. JPJ was a great addition to Led Zeppelin & a great musician, but for the most part didn’t quite standout like the others. He seemed more reserved, & not as social, preferring to stay more in they background. As far as Plant & Page touring etc. in the 90’s, they calibrated more with creating music, all 3 would have been seen as a LZ reunion. The band toured so much, & they did miss their families, Bonham dreaded the thought of touring the US & drank so much that final day. Sadly he left his family forever, instead of for awhile touring.
