    I just made this for our Christmas dinner and it was PERFECT! Everyone loved it. I don't care too much for pepper and the veggies in the bottom of the roaster were too spicy for me to eat. Next time I will only use 1 tbsp. of pepper. Also my family loves med rare meat. I took it out of the oven at 110 degrees and it cooked another 10 degrees while it cooled and came out perfect. Enjoy!

    Claudia, I found your recipe video by accident when looking for a good prime rib recipe.. All I can say is, thank God I did!! I made this last night, for New Year's Eve, and it was absolutely the best prime rib I have ever put in my mouth! My whole family went crazy over it, as well as our friends! The flavor from the herbs was perfect and the wine added the perfect touch to the au jus! I will never make prime rib any other way than like this. Thank you so much for sharing this extremely delicious recipe! Happy New Year!!

      Cooking With Claudia ~ We own a cattle ranch in Montana and I have cooked prime rib for Christmas for as long as I remember. Every year I try to improve and perfect my technique by getting more ideas and after watching your video it reminded me of the way my Grandmother made it in so many steak houses in Montana, she was famous for it! She always said the trick was in the veggies but she has been gone a long time and I forgot about that until I watched your video so I will add that twist today when making a 20lb BETTER than PRIME rib roast! I will let you know how it goes....

    Should sit out more like 6 hours....
    I edit this because that sounded very critical... I use the X method
    500 degree with 5 minutes per pound than turn off the oven and let it sit in oven unchecked for 2 hours........if you are a medium type it's 7 minutes per pound

      Hello Judith, thanks a lot! you don't need foil for the prime rib.. bake it 15 minutes per pound. (so 150 minutes for 10 lbs) . For well done, bake it 10 extra minutes and check the temperature for 140F, then take the meat out.. Make sure you dont overcook it otherwise it will not be tender

    Your voice wasn't clear...was it 450 or 550? I put mine in at 500 degrees, by the pound, it added to 16 minutes, yet 2 hours later after 500 degrees for 16 minutes, it was 120 degrees and the meat cold. Had to heat it up 20 more minutes.

  • @openureyes929
    @openureyes929 6 лет назад

    A little tip for ya sweetie.. When you cook it at 180 or so till your internal temp is 115 and u take it out to rest while heating your oven to 500 plus.. Gives u plenty of time to finish your aw jue and get everything else on the table. Then blast ur roast with 500 degrees for 10 plus minutes and 1..ur roast hits the table hotter.. 2. its much more edge to edge prime temp 3. Its stress free. 4. Cuz Ive done em both ways and this is the best..!! Comes to your plate piping hot and that's the shiz nit when serving.
