How to roast the Perfect Prime Rib of Beef. A garlic-crusted Prime Rib Recipe with a trusted method for juicy, melt-in-your-mouth tender prime rib roast.
    #primerib #ribeyesteak #primeribofbeef #holidaybeefroast #primeribroast #PerfectPrimeRib
    #soulfoodsunday
    Ingredients
    For the Roast:
7 lb beef prime rib (bone-in) boned and tied
3 1/2 tsp sea salt divided
1/2 Tbsp black pepper freshly ground
1 tsp fresh rosemary leaves, minced from 1 sprig or 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
1/2 tsp fresh thyme leaves, minced from 1-2 sprigs, or 1/4 tsp dried thyme
    6 garlic cloves finely chopped
    3 Tbsp olive oil
    Instructions
    How to Make Prime Rib:
Let it rest at room temperature for 3 hours to come to room temperature (it will bake more uniformly). Then preheat Oven to 500˚F with a rack in the lower third of the oven.
Make your Prime Rib rub: In a small bowl, stir together: 1/2 Tbsp salt, 1/2 Tbsp black pepper, 1 tsp minced rosemary, 1/2 tsp minced thyme leaves, chopped garlic, and 3 Tbsp olive oil.
Lightly pat the roast dry with a paper towel then rub all over top and sprinkle meat all over with 2 tsp salt, and sides with garlic rub. Place into a roasting pan bone-side-down and put a meat thermometer into the thickest portion of the meat. Bake at 500˚F for 20 minutes.
Reduce heat to 325˚F and continue baking following these guidelines: 10-12 min per pound for rare, or 13-14 min per pound for medium-rare, and 14-15 min per pound for medium. Roast until the thermometer registers: 120˚F for rare, 130˚F for medium-rare, 140 for Medium, 150 for medium-well.* This 7 lb roast baked at 500˚F for 20 minutes then at 325˚F for 1 hr 30 minutes for medium-rare.
Transfer to a cutting board, tent loosely with foil, and rest 30 minutes before carving. Remove string and rack of ribs then slice to desired thickness.
    Recipe Notes
*Meat internal temp will continue to rise 5-10 degrees even after it's out of the oven so don't over-bake
    Prime Rib Cooking Time:
Bake in a fully preheated oven at 500˚F for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 325˚F and continue baking:
10-12 min per pound for rare
13-14 min per pound for medium-rare
14-15 min per pound for medium
16-17 min per pound for medium-well
    Roast until the thermometer registers:
    115-120˚F for rare,
    125-130˚F for medium-rare
    135-140 for medium doneness
    145-150 for medium-well
Tips on Cutting The Bones and Tying them back on: Here's how to do it: Using a long, sharp slicing knife or chef's knife, cut the meat from the rib bones in one piece, following the contour of the bones. It's easiest if you stand the roast up so you are slicing downward. Once the bones are fully detached, lay the meat down on its cut side. Count the ribs on your roast. If it has 10. This means you will need nine pieces of string (one less than the number of ribs), each long enough to wrap securely around the roast and easily tie. Set the roast, fat side up, on the cutting board. Using a short piece of twine, hold one end with each hand and slide it under the roast about 2 inches from one end. Then pull the twine snug, knot the ends securely, and trim the excess. Repeat with the remaining short pieces of twine at 2-inch intervals along the length of the roast. Tie a long piece of twine to the center of the twine loop at one end of the roast. Then weave the loose end under and around the center of each loop along the length of the roast. Turn the roast over and repeat. Turn the roast, fat side up, and knot the loose end to the original loop. Trim the excess twine. #youtubeblack #youtubeblackvoice #trending #blackbusiness #soulfoodsunday #comfortfood

Sir Chef!! I know u made this video over a year ago. U may never read this comment but I I'm gonna comment any way! 1st! I been scared to make a Prime Rib for years cuz I knew I would mess it up and it's to expensive to mess it up! But I dug in and bulid up courage and press the complete order button when I paid for the Prime Rib so I gotta make it or waste my money. I prepared to make for Christmas 2022. I seen other recipes but I wanted to find someone of my own kind 👊🏿 cuz I wanted it to be flavorful. So I found u and one other person and your explanation was so detailed and I literally had no questions after watching your video. So I watch your video again a week before Christmas and I watch it 2 days before I was to take it out the freezer and I watch it the day I cooked it to see how u sliced the meat as well. See you thought of EVERYTHING in this video!! My Prime Rib was only 5lbs. I'm only cooking for 2 ppl. I say all this to say! I followed EVERYTHING u said & done to a T, you hear me??? Even tho I was scared to death of putting all that salt on it as well as putting it back in the fridge over night and sitting it out to get to room temperature . Then the herbs and butter on top! I even puts some gloves on like you!! 🤣 I just kept hearing u say in my head ." Its not alot , this is a big piece of meat" ! I NEVER TRUSTED A STRANGE WITH MY MONEY 💰 LIKE THIS BEFORE! 🤣 And I wanted u to know I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR U! My Prime Rib came out perfectly!!!!! 😋 Soo juicy, tender and flavorful ! Just like I remembered it tasting in that restaurant years ago. I been bragging on my Prime rib and your video all day to whoever would listen!!! Thank You! Thank You! Now! I gotta chk some of yo other recipes cuz I be running outta food to make. Thanks Again Sir Chef! 😘

I'm really glad you enjoyed the recipe yeah that's a large piece of meat and very expensive to mess up so I made sure I had that recipe down to the T myself. By the way I did make a updated version of this recipe a few weeks back. Hope you enjoy the rest of my videos Thanks again for stopping on by.

    God bless you -
Our Son & daughter n law bought us a prime rib as I always cook One on Christmas but because of the economy and prices going up weekly We couldn't afford one this year.
They surprised us last week and brought one for us after I just was blessed with getting out of the hospital after fusion of my spine and 7 weeks after I got a horrible infection and SEPSIS.
Taking IV meds at home &
My husband is cooking us this amazing prime rib .
I found him a video simular to how I've cooked ours all these years

      @TheUrbanCultureKitchen  5 месяцев назад +1

I just cutting it off because I don't want to cut it to bone when I'm cutting the meat you have no control of the size of the meat with the bone in it.

Damn that looked perfect, not too pink but clearly not dried our, did you here him say it's pink the way it's supposed to be,, because he knows black folks swear they are eating bloody meat when it's pink, all the while missing out on great roast or steak.

The only difference I would make is to reverse sear it. Otherwise good recipe.

To much fat cut off it needs the fat for flavor same with the bones sure he's tying them back on but you won't get the flavor the same as if you left them in if you don't want fat after it's cooked when you're eating you can cut the fat off same with the bones you can as you carve up the Prime rib after it's it's done cooking take them out they are making it the taist less lazy man's way to cook a Prime rib

It took 2 hours to cook because you set the temp at 325! 🤦 Should be 350 for 60-80 minutes

Make sure the oven is calibrated. Especially if you don't have a thermometer.
