This was from David Sanborn's unfortunately short-lived late night NBC TV show. Yup, Joe Sample on piano, Donald Fagen on keyboards, Omar Hakim on drums, etc. Great stuff. THIS WAS MUSIC!
Wow! Earl, Omar Hakim on drums, Marcus Miller on bass, the late Joe Sample on piano, and it kinda looks like Jools on other keys (that's actually Steely Dan's Donald Fagen) and the other musicians - energy! Awesome cut!
Thank you! thank you! thank! this is music period. I discovered eric's music at music school and was like damn. I am now spoiled. i cannot listen to most of the pop music because of guys like this ( I don't know if this is a good thing or bad, just sayin.) Much love to the poster and to all, keep moving and dreaming.
Add earl klugh's name to list of masters like segovia, Pavarotti, bob james, robert cray, brian auger, and others who make incredible music seem so easy.
been an Earl Klugh fan since 1980. liked his sound so much I have bought several classical guitars over the years. I know have an electric classical Ibinez. it sounds great but I will NEVER be the guitar player that Earl Klugh is!!!!
thank you for saying that Dario but at 55 years old, I'm kind of stuck with my guitar style....mostly rhythm and a little finger picking. Earl is the BEST!!
At 4:32 there's a close-up of the guitar. From the Rosette, Headstock, the slotted look of the saddle, and the cutaway, I'm guessing it's an Alvarez, perhaps a CY128CE (or earlier equivalent). Search for alvarez classical cutaway on google images and zzounds have a high resolution photo.
Respond to this video... My bad! I didn't notice the keyboards till the end and at first it looked like Jools Holland. I guess it does look like Donald Fagen too.
Bass - Marcus Miller Electric Guitar - Hiram Bullock Piano - Joe Sample Keyboard (synth) - Phillipe Saisse (long hair) Keyboard (synth) - Don Fagen Drums - Omar Hakim

2:37 is bad
ミキサーが下手なのか、キーボードの音がギターの音にかぶさって邪魔している部分が多いのが残念・・・
