Sure, many guitarist can play jazz and play it very well but George is on a different level it's so evident. EVERYONE listens to his music to try to steal licks. It's not easy to play with fluidity, grace, speed, skill, improvisation, creativity, deptness, smoothness, power, character, soulfulness and passion and he makes it all look effortlessly. Need I say more... Simply the best EVER!!!

True story : in year 2000.....in a ramshackle mom and pop shop...they were clearing out old old cassette tapes...there was one ....Best of George Benson CTI records....never heard him much, only exposure being his live Grammy performance scat singing....then ....on my headphones ....that album reworked my brain! Life changing collection George Benson became my guru....! In the Summertime CTI live recording is one of the greatest songs ever....listen to it. I collected all CTI records....audiophile gold btw.

Without the awesome bass this tune would not have the depths to flow and would never sound as good. Who is this bassist ? Tell him he is one magician as well! Of course George and Joe leave me speechless. Yes and the drummers perfection ...mm
Thoroughly agree with you. I have seen GB in concert several times and the band have always been terrific. GB didn't hog the limelight playing the big star and we could hear each band member's skills. Great shows xx
That is so true, Bo Reed. I try and learn from George every time I watch him play. Wes Montgomery is amazing too. Love Chet Atkins also, Jeff Beck is on his blow by blow. Santanna hits the licks. This how you learn the best stuff.
Just excellent....lovely to see the former Crusaders piano player Joe Sample playing with one of the finest singer/guitar players ever! Great music and beautifully played too. I believe that this recording is from the original 2000 DVD made in Northern Ireland. 10/10
What can you say?? Other than thanks for everything Joe - Crusaders, Randy Crawford, and Absolute Benson are some favs.....and George!!! Been a fan for soooo long! Saw him in 77 for the Breezin' tour at Red Rocks outside of Denver. My gal literally dragged me to it.....what a dork I was back then! One of the best shows I've ever seen. Randy was there too lending vocals!
