That’s expensive, time consuming, and she’s a single mom, and not at all wealthy since she doesn’t engage in the insider trading and backroom political corruption that so many others in Congress do.
If every member of Congress, both House and Senate were as smart and thoughtful about what they were doing as Katie Porter is it would probably solve about 95% of the problems we now have. Unfortunately, we elect morons to represent us and if they’re not morons they’re probably being paid off by lobbyists.

The Federal government is mandating even more stringent energy standards for appliances, which will drive up the cost. The Republicans are trying to block these new standards, and Katie thinks $2 a month to run a dishwasher is not efficient enough.
