@@brickradioYT right I actually listened to off the wall for the first time during lockdown and I was legit clapping afterwards it’s such a fun record with no skips. I’m shocked it didn’t make the list
Apple did alright with this list just felt very pandering. Billie Eilish, Drake, Bad Bunny, Travis Scott, SZA, Rihanna & a few others had no business being on this list
Completely agree, like they really said “let’s put a sza and billie eilish album in here before billy joel, Black Sabbath, Curtis mayfield, Fiona Apple and more”
80's synth pop was just ignored, Tears for Fears, New Order and Depeche Mode got nothing? If at least one of them got on the list you could see it as a representing the sound in general but getting literally nothing? Come on!
Generally i dont know if I’d put any of their full albums in the top 100, but I think Tears for Fears and Depeche Mode probably have a like top 100 song of all time
You straight up violated Billie Eilish - if something is pop doesn't mean It's bad. When we all fall asleep is truly a legendary piece of art, it's just newer and I don't think you understand it fully.
I will admit I was a bit harsher on When we all i fall asleep than i meant to be. I don’t think it deserves to be in the top 100, but i do think its a very good album. There are a lot of pop albums that could have made it on this list and i would have been happy to see
Not a single gorillaz album on the list is absolutely mind boggling to me. They have so much influence and are so iconic it makes me genuinely sad seeing Take Care & 1989 making this list before Demon Days or Plastic Beach. Also no DOOM or Black Sabbath is a crime
the biggest miss for me that i normally see on these lists (allbeit somewhat biased towards my personal taste) was unknown pleasures by joy division. it is an immaculate record start to finish that was extremely foundational for post-punk music. in addition to that, the album cover is one of the most iconic ones ever (although i lowkey think the intense merchandising of the design that occurred since the album was released 45 years ago has done more harm than good with respect to the general perception of the album, but nevertheless).
I had unknown pleasures in my first draft as one that got missed, not too sure why i took it out lmao. Definitely a snub that usually makes it on these types of lists, seems to have fallen out of favor a bit recently
I think i’d put ready to die a little lower and straight outta compton a little higher, but generally pretty good. Thats the eminem album i would have put in the list, maybeee the slim shady lp
I dont know what they were thinking by placing a spanish album on the top100. Rating something that they probably cant even properly comprehend is so confusing to me. And in that case, theres so many albums in the world from different languages, Im pretty sure bad bunny wouldn’t be on the list 😂
If I’m being honest as a swiftie 1989 wouldn’t have been my Taylor pick especially given the under representation of country and folk on the list so I feel like Red which has a Little Rock, Pop, Country, and Folk would’ve been the better pick and I don’t think 18 was to high of a place for a Taylor album especially if we’re going to do Billie at 30, Blonde at 5, lemonade at 10, and have no Dolly Parton or Fiona Apple, because I wouldn’t exactly say there like Taylor I do think her writing bares the marks of Fiona, Dolly, Stevie Nicks, Joni Mitchell, and so many other incredible artists, it’s still a writing style that’s almost entirely new and exclusive to Taylor, which makes it hard to talk about but Taylor’s writing has been influential especially to Artists like Lana Del Rey, Billie Ellish, Olivia Rodrigo,Maisie peters, Conan Gray, Sabrina Carpenter, Kacy Musgrave, Chappell Roan, and Kendrick who listed her as a writing inspiration for TPAB and Good kid mad city even if that was in retrospect when talking about the Bad blood remix, but once again if your going to put one that high it should’ve been Red or Fearless because the Original and Taylor’s versions both have had more time to age and Fearless still holds the most awarded female country album of all time and Taylor still holds most celebrated female country artist with her first 4 albums, and she’s tied with Dolly Parton and Shania Twain as the highest selling female country artist with those 4 records. But yeah that’s my take
I’d probably still stick with 1989 just because of how huge it was for pop (not taylors version), but I could definitely see the case for Fearless. (It’s also my personal favorite)
@@brickradioYT I mean feel like fearless would’ve been better choice but also Taylor has 4 albums that could’ve easily been here and other artists deserved more spots too but that’s the problem is that albums have to get cut, fearless could’ve easily been here over Golden Hour by Kacy Musgraves or Rage against the machines self titled, I love both albums but nether are my picks for here respective genre and I feel in the case of rage against the machine there’s other albums on the list that are in the same area of rock and we could’ve used that slot to expand Country, Jazz, Folk, indie, or music from other countries. Huge project, would be a lot of fun though. Maybe one day

Great picks no lie. I think fs Off The Wall over Thriller and was def shocked no Alicia Keys.

Too much good music out there just to stick to hip-hop. Tho its def the most interesting genre to talk about
1989 over Sign O’ The Times, Hounds of Love, Homogenic and Ziggy Stardust is insane
We as a society need a reset after that

I definitely would have put either Master of Reality or Paranoid on here
the one album I was shock that wasn't here was the carter 3 or 4, like no wayne???
Good point, I didn’t even think about Wayne. Definitely deserved a spot, maybe 2.

I think of it more as an art piece than an album. I don’t think I’ll ever listen to the whole thing
the whole project is six albums...?
@@cereal_snake yep. Kirby released each album individually from 2016-2019 and merged them together into one giant album after Stage 6 was released.
