You are so talented! I would love a “10 (or so) tips for beginner sewers”. I so badly want to get into sewing so I can make creations like yours one day. I’m overwhelmed with where to start. What machine should I get? What other items should I have on hand? What type of pattern or skill should I start with? Thanks for considering the video idea!
i highly recommend starting with making smth easy but not too easy (or it'll be boring) and what you'll want to wear (a top or wrap-skirt, a nightgown, something without zippers and buttonholes). And don't repeat my mistake - start with cotton-like viscose or cotton and not with a satin-like viscose, it falls apart at the sides and it's hard to deal with. also you can try doing something by hand and see if it's your cup of tea (like sewing a doll or bear maybe).
while i dont know the most about sewing yet i do have some recommendations! my first sewing projects in order was a cushion, a pin cushion and then a maxi wrap skirt. while a maxi wrap was probably a lil ambiguous for me at the time it doesnt have much finnicky stuff. Its mostly attaching pieces, hemming and making and attaching a waistband. I havent used a lot of machines but i did just get the singer heavy duty and im so happy with it. It can do a range of lightweight to heavyweight fabrics and has a nice speed without being too quick. It's also often on sale during spotlight sales!
I’m so glad you mentioned that that skirt and top were quilters cotton! Shopping for fabrics makes me so nervous and I just bought enough quilt cotton to make a dress with and realized it might not work ideally since it wasn’t made for garments. Also needless to say I’m excited for the fabric shopping video!! 😂🧡🧡
What a gorgeous collection. I love autumn colours. I’m bring my autumn colours into my winter wardrobe to brighter the blacks and greys up. Thank you for sharing your style and creativity.
Love your autumn colour scheme Janelle. Definitely lots of love put into your clothes. Thank you for sharing. Totally inspired by your positive energy. Remain blessed xxx
You are just incredible!! And you look very joyful taking us on the tour, it's obvious that you really enjoy what you do. I would wear all of these, seriously. Our color palette preferences are so similar. I love your videos! 🧡 Inspiring.
I just finished making a pair of dungarees after binge-watching all of your content and being heavily inspired by you. It's such an awesome feeling to have just one me-made item so I can't imagine how great seeing a whole me-made wardrobe must feel!!! So cool 😍 thanks for the inspiration!!! I hope you've been having an amazing time away!! ❤
Great job, beautiful items!! You are so talented and have a sharp eye on what is aesthetically pleasing. Please make a winter version of the green dress with long puff sleeves gathered at wrist as well.
your videos are what inspire me to sew! i only started to sew my own clothes this year and whenever i'm at my table sewing i'll put one of your videos on in the background and it's like i have a sewing buddy 💗
I love all your makes. So inspired to make the stacker jacket and the colour of the sage dress is so dreamy! Hope you had a lovely holiday and feel refreshed and relaxed! x
Even though, your style is very different than my own, I just love your wardrobe. You are so talented. I wish I could wear a dress like the sage green one. Sadly, that style just wouldn't look good on me.
Well done. I especially love the boxy jacket and your green linen dress. Enjoy fall and winter with your new wardrobe. My next make, aside from my Hanna midi wrap ( which I will make soon) is a pair of heavy linen Bermuda shorts for summer. I am excited to have some longer shorts in my wardrobe.
Hi, I would like to see a video about things you did not make yourself (yet) but you wear a lot and possibly plan to make. Your style is very cute and unique and very inspiring to me :-)
Out of interest, do you make trousers, cullottes etc? I’ve made a few tops and dresses this summer (in UK) but would like to try making palazzo pants or similar. I’m still a novice so am working my way up to trying trousers. Great video as always :)
I love seeing these wrap-ups! It's so inspiring to see the clothes all laid out together. I made my first Hannah skirt last week and I absolutely love it! Unrelated question, but what lipstick are you wearing?! It's so gorgeous, like the perfect browny-rose shade!
@@RoseryApparel Ah of course - such a classic! Hope you’re enjoying your holiday and can’t wait to see what you have in store for us when you get back! xx
Lauren Dewey.... If you are new to sewing and like vintage styles check out Evelyn Wood. She has a TON of videos and an online sewing school that is crazy affordable (I think $19/month) and very beginner friendly. She also has great style and a really warm personality like Janelle. I have learned so much from them both!
I love all of it! Superbly done! Though I must say your video this week you look/talk kinda formal and scripted 😅 or is it just me? 😅 Nonetheless, wonderful video! ☺️
I love how so many of your pieces coordinate and are mixable and matchable. It gives you so many outfit options. And so feminine and pretty.
Aw thank you so much! 🧡
I would LOVE to see a full wardrobe your. Your style is polar opposites of my personal style but I'm soooo in love with it.

Put a long sleeve skivvy or turtle neck under the sage green dress.
My fave way of wearing my dresses during the colder months! 😍
I was just about to suggest that. 😁
These are absolutely beautiful and so well made. I love watching your channel :0)
Thanks so much! That means a lot x

I’m working gradually Janelle towards my own me-made wardrobe, one garment at a time, x
Love the blouse you're wearing!! Did you make it or buy it?
Beautiful autumn collection!!
I made it, a while ago now! I shared the making process in this video here: ruclips.net/video/UWkMtSaJxeo/видео.html
Did you, by chance, made the blouse you're wearing yourself? I really like the style and I'd like to upcycle a shirt I have into something similar :)
Very lovely pieces!! Would you consider making knitting tutorials in the future? Would love to learn!
Love then all Janelle! A truly special wardrobe. I need to find my 'sew jo' so I can get started on your pattens. ❤🌺
Thanks Sonia 😘

Does anyone know what brand her super cute white tennis shoes are? I love that look with her dresses and skirts!
Wear a long sleeve pullover under that dress and you can extended it wear... I have done that FOREVER. I make my clothes all season. LOL

Thanks so much! I edit them with premiere pro 😊
Is there any tutorial for the shirt you are wearing?
No tutorial yet (it’s definitely on the list though)! I did show the making process of it in this video here: ruclips.net/video/UWkMtSaJxeo/видео.html
Couldn't you wear the sage dress with a nude long sleeve top under it... Thick thighs and then some nude or brown shoes/boots? Xxx
Hello, from Indonesia 🇮🇩
I love your patterns but I am normally a size 0-2 would the size 4 fit me?
I would recommend checking the measurements of the pattern to your own body to see if the pattern (any sewing pattern) would fit. 💛
@@Elle-py8pf I will try that, Thanks!
Hi there! You can check the size guide here to see which size is best for your measurements: www.roseryapparel.com/sizing-1
Can you wear tights and a polo neck with the green dress? That will keep you warm but not cover up the dress. 👗 💖
😂 you underestimate how cold Tasmania is. (Not just outside, but our houses tend to be freezing because they aren't built well for cold weather)
Hi. Where did you get your skirt hangers please?
I can’t remember sorry! It might have been Bunnings or Target 😊
@@RoseryApparel Love the middy skirt BLW - reminds me of "Petty Women" 👍🏻
I watched your vid of the jacket and loved how detailed it was. Love love love the jacket 😊

How about a video of clothes you have made but don’t wear. Up to you honestly also love your chanel.
There are a few pieces that ended up not fitting me as well as I’d like! I’m thinking of filming the process of making them more wearable 😊
@@RoseryApparel That sounds like a brilliant idea! I love the thought of being able to take something that's not quite right & make it outstanding.
