Very inspiring video, have seen it while ago but I did seen it again. I do engineering stress analysis with computer all time long, but there is room for LEAN. You have so good mode in shop, all the best for you guys!
Kelvin, O Kelvin... You had that nice pen kickstarter running and afterwards disappeared like mist in the sun...Good to see you again and hope you are back on the tube...:)
我曾经的公司有购买你们的真空吸盘系统,我也是从那儿开始知道你们的公司。 很有收获的介绍,特别是精益生产的内容。 My former company bought your vacuum system, and I have known your company from there. Very rewarding introduction, especially the content of lean production.
Wow, this series is informative. As we look into lean and kanban for garment production one one of the biggest turnoffs is the number of people selling some sort of kit or system online. Tech ding a lings abound
The bar code automating the email is just plain awesome. You mentioned that you developed the software for this. Any more info on how you've actually done this would be great. I really like the video series. Thanks Jay!
Thank you! It's custom developed but I get a LOT of requests to make it a commercial product when people see it. I'll do it if there's enough interest. - JP
Hub and spoke. Never thought of it that way but now I can see it's not what we need. Thank you for planting that seed. We will move away from that. One problem I have is that if I'm not on the shop floor, all my guys practically stop working. I go out there and they're on the phone, standing around talking etc...
You have the perfect combination of practical and lean ! ! Did you epoxy the shop floor or previous tenant? If you, do you know what epoxy you used, looking to do mine in the next month, and yours appears to be holding up great.
Or even what you used to create the system with...... This is exactly the stage I'm trying to figure out right now. Currently considering a warehouse management software that integrates into my website, but custom sounds even better!
It's custom designed software. With all the interest it's gotten (besides this video), I think the next step is to make a secure commercial version and make a highlight video.
I know a guy who ran a business with over 1,000 employees and daily contractors, and he would say if the owner isn't the least important person in the day to day operations, you are doing it wrong...
Great work Jay I am in the middle of bringing CNC production in house for my company and your channel has been a great help. That ordering software with the scanning is amazing. You should figure out a way to sell and market it to manufacturers, I know I would be interested. I'm going to watch this video with my shipping guys to get them inspired.
Great video. Even though I don't run a business I'm learning so much from you. Henry Ford's book is on order as well. Thank you (both). Ciao, Marco. PS: You talk about custom software in the video. What is it and how did you customize it? (unless that gives away trade secrets)
This is what I was looking for. I would order your product just to learn these principles. Your new product line should be how to do lean manufacturing for small manufacturers. Also sell your customized software. Regards LeRoy
Only thing I don’t agree with is materials purchasing. With the credit card you will always be paying 2.75% more than you could be and you are not always getting the best price. I went to a lean seminar and this came up as well. Guy said I go to this coil of steel and scan this barcode and it orders another coil. He claimed pricing averaged out but could not provide any data to back that up. Now on your own product, margins are huge compared to a blanket order you competitively bid on for a customer. I’ve seen huge variations in price from one supplier to the next. You can’t just set it and forget it on that type of process.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, you and Kelvin are great inspirations, even for old farts that have been in manufacturing for decades 😂😂😂😂, .......l never too old to learn and apply those lessons to The Day Job and of course The Side Hustle 😊
This was awesome but that explosion at the end really gave me a jump! Holy smokes.
:D
Me too! We'll tone it down on the next one. - JP
Haha, I read this comment and knew it was coming and still jumped when it happened.
Love how amped this guy is!
Yeah he's really observing the deep stuff and getting super hype, I can feel it.
On the edge of my seat for the next part! 🤞🏻
Part 2... Thanksgiving morning!
Kudos Jay for opening the window into how deep your lean goes. Thanks for sharing!!
King of LEAN!

Love these videos. I want to make my composites shop run like yours one day.

...and I don't mean that bad in any way...I just miss your crazy machining videos :)
@@EasyFold007 I'll be back once the new shop is built. I'm on IG in the mean time. @urbansurvivalgear
Awesome video!
Who in their right mind dislikes these videos? Another great video Jay!!! Awesome information for trying to improve so many processes. Keep it up man!
I would love working for you

Kelvin is one of the nicest and most energetic guys on the net. He’s actually the only one I switch on sound for every post or story on instagram 😀
He used to be on RUclips. What happened??
Would love to work for this company. He has it all together.
Great series. Thanks gents for sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm for the process!

I had mine done professionally. It cost $4000 for 3100 sq ft but it is 5 years old and still looks new. Well worth the money.
Awesome! I don't know if you can share details, but I'd love to know more about that software, how it ties everything together.

A public version of the software is on the 2020 launch list.
Any update on this@@PiersonWorkholding? Would love to hear more about that software!
Fantastic video. Would you share the layout of your carban cards?. Regards Thomas
