@@nesara106 the fuck dude, big bash is one of the biggest leagues on planet. You gotta be kidding me. Racial makeup of people in the stadium during final was mostly white and none of the south asian countries have that. It is true that fans from other countries are overshadowed by indians but it doesn't mean that they don't watch it. There are also people who aren't as hyper as Indians. Also, nowadays a lot of indians don't watch cricket so if you think all indians are mad about cricket then you are wrong about it.
@@nesara106 I just said we are hyper about cricket that's all dude. Also making assumptions based on youtube comments is a dumb thing to do. How about you go over some wikipedia articles and see some ashes or matches where south asian team isn't involved and you can see the crowd from other countries. You should know that during any icc tournaments whenever tickets go on sale for an india match, all the tickets are sold out in a flash. Also during last ind-pak in icc ct 2017 the tickets just sold out in 2 minutes. Also as south asian countries are developing, there population is just focused on one or two major sports which benefits the likes of cricket but as it goes towards more development, sports will develop as well and the popularity of cricket will decline in india. The same is about other nations such as aus, eng, nz which are developed which means they have good teams at multiple big sports so audience is definitely divided unlike india where it is concerned at just one sport. So that's why you can't see many of them in cricket videos but they still produce great cricketers like smith or root. So saying that only india loves cricket is kinda dumb and if outside india didn't like cricket then there would have been no great players internationally or legends like ponting or bradman.
@@nesara106 I was gonna use the example of hockey as well. India is most successful Olympic side while pak is successful world cup side but actually hockey is still widely loved sport but not as much as cricket and it is same with other cricketing nations where cricket has a cult following but it has one other sport which has mainstream following. Cult following doesn't have to be very few in terms of numbers. For example hockey is still relevent in india only because of its cult following. So in this case cricket still remains relevent in many nations which have cricket as their second or third sport. Again as you said cricket wasn't popular in 90s that's because cricket during that time used to take really long and test matches were played widely so it was a bit boring for audiences, nowadays its enjoying boom in popularity only because of t20. Also, young kids don't usually watch test matches only people who can understand cricket deeply and like good bowling spells can enjoy test matches so in case of 'original cricket' which is still test cricket, it is no popular but in case of t20 which is still cricket but a bit dumb sport like all other flashy sports, it enjoys widespread popularity globally. You might be right on it's decreasing popularity but it's only about long formats as I said t20 has surpassed all and you can see that those dummy teams you mentioned are really strong in t20s like pak being no.1 and WI winning two world cups.

It is very difficult to generalize a country of 1.3 billion with one sweeping statement. Football is popular in different parts of India taking precedence over cricket.
You might be right on it's decreasing popularity but it's only about long formats as I said t20 has surpassed all and you can see that those dummy teams you mentioned are really strong in t20s like pak being no.1 and WI winning two world cups.

thats what keeps cricket alive all other formats are shit.

Hockey may be first in spectators in Finland but there is way way more footballers in Finland than there is hockeyplayers
aa aa because there aren’t as many hockey players in general. And there is more hockey players just not all in the top league
Which makes sense football is a cheaper sport to get into.
Hahaha true fact
More people play football in Canada than hockey. It’s because football is way cheaper to play than hockey, not because people like it more
Cristiano Euronaldo
There you are. You went missing against bayern munich in both legs.

Yap, we call it football to here in Indonesia
Soccer is definitely gaining some popularity here in Australia. Actually, the women's game is growing significantly, as we have a genuinely world class women's team. That said, it's still a pretty tiny segment of the sporting world here.
FOOTBALL

South Africa do more rugby and cricket than soccer fool
But the south african teams on those sports are mostly white......
Ok....?
Are those sports as prevalent among black people in South Africa? Just curious.
Why does race matter?

If u never played cricket in India
No matter age ,studies or work (mostly boys) ,interests or whatever then I doubt whether u truly live in india
Being Indian one think I don't understand, if South American countries and Europeans are proud and say that they will only play & watch football, no other sports. Then why dont we have that kind of confidence towards our popular sports, Cricket. Why we shamefully ignoring the very sport that made our country recognisable in front of some great countries around the globe. Why we keep disrespecting Cricket just to play football.
Bro I also think the same thing . I respect all sports . I watch cricket football kabaddhi hockey etc . I have never understood this . If Europe is proud of being great at football why can't india be proud . Why we must prove ourselves at other sports too why not cricket . I Never say that don't support football but let's support all sports . Imo cricket even takes more skill, strategy and intelligence than football and India's cricket team is great in this so why can't we be proud. I think that liking football has a cool factor to it and we know how much youth want to look cool . So they trash beautiful sport like cricket and praise football just to look cool
@@non-senseuser1474 rightly said. We Indians always want to be cool doesn't matter what we are losing for it

Actually football is quite popular in North East India & Kolkata but not that popular overall as we'd have wanted it to be. But the I -League & ISL are changing the scenario.
I wish to see India in Fifa WC in the future. Good work HITC Sevens.
Nothing can replace Cricket in India buddy. We are careless about cricket world cup, but facing Pakistan and defeating them is more than anything. That is the only time when we face Pakistan besides cross-border firing. Match between India/pakistan are also shown at military bases.
man football in India has grown more than any country , from rank 170 to rank 96 in two years
It's not compulsory that every country should like football. Yes it a huge sports but everyone has thier own opinion
Exactly like I live in north Africa and don't even know how to play cricket
In India and Pakistan cricket is like a religion
In Nepal cricket is more popular in recent 5 years people don't know about 11 national player of football also but there is huge fan of indian captain kholi and IPL specially .love from Nepal .

Achi Tame I moved to Canada from England and it seems pretty popular at least at the amateur level. Just only two pro teams until the Canadian soccer league is launched so there’s limited chance to watch live.
I am Canadian. I always watch the prem and bundesliga. My favourite sport is basketball, then hockey (ice hockey to English) and then soccer (or football). I also like football (canadian and American) and baseball a bit. Not much.
Seriously, also my local foothills is good to watch.
At Toronto Basketball is passing Ice Hockey ? Toronto used to be The Mecca of Ice Hockey ! Just across The Lake is Buffalo NY ! Closest NHL TEAM !
Most Canadians don't care about soccer. NHL, CFL and NFL get better ratings.
The weird thing about my country is that everyone else on the planet says "Wales is a rugby loving nation and it is the most popular sport there" when the reality is that we have 3 registered footballers to every one registered rugby player in the country. It's only during the Six Nations that people give a fuck about rugby, but the rest of the year it barely exists and our national football team gets most of the press.
My country Philippines qualified for the Asian Cup despite us being a basketball mad nation. Football is just like our 4th-6th sport here. Sad for a big fan like me.
Hans Rover they would've not qualify if Tajikistan had beaten them
Skinnyfatboi FIFA yes I know. But it was still a great acomplishment for a country dominated by Amreican culture and basketball. Football pitches here are super rare.

True. Actually is a odd choice, given that Philipinos do not tend to be tall.
Cannot say for much else here in the Philippines, but I’m actually quite tall for my age here in the Philippines, and a lot of my friends. The funny part is, we play football ⚽️
Thanks man, you spoken the truth about football in India, there is crazy amount of love and fans in football in india, always.
Lol the US doesn't consider soccer one of the major sports
Matt Who cares about what the US thinks? It doesn't matter what that stupid country thinks.
In a few years what China thinks will be more important that what the US thinks.....
Oh ya that stupid country that's probably protecting yours lmao
From who? From themselves? The cold war is long over, but the US insists on be protecting the world. From who? ET? Or more exactly the US is protecting the world for the Saudis and Israelis. Not even protecting the average US citizen. They pay taxes, get their country into debt and go to die for somebody else.
