  • 23-year-old Christopher Ong has never had sex with a man. And he plans to keep it that way. Christopher grew up an Evangelical Christian and after a lot of soul searching and crying himself to sleep he decided his religion forbids gay sex. In this episode of “Heaven or Hell” he explains why celibacy is not an oppression but something he chose for himself.

I'm gay, and if celibacy or chastity is the only way that I'll be saved from sexual immorality, so be it. 🙏🏻

I'm gay and celibate. Not because of god, but because I absolutely hate being touched by other people. Its taken me a long while to accept that there's nothing wrong with me, i dont need to change and that celibacy is actually fine. Sending lots of love to Christains for helping me become more positive about celibacy.

I am gay (no longer label myself as that at this point) and beginning a journey of celibacy as well, for both spiritual reasons as well as the lack of opportunities for meaningful relationships in the gay community, with its overall focus and obsession on youth (you're basically invisible after 40). The gay life is quite lonely and void of meaning for many people, including for me. And yes, gay is a lifestyle as well as an orientation.

He's not advocating that everyone else choose his path. Why can't people respect his decision? Seems like an honest sensitive interview. I appreciate the way he explains himself. If he chooses another path a decade from now, great. If he doesn't, well, it's still great.

There is nothing wrong with being gay. The only journey you have to do is to accept yourself as a gay person. Celibate is not necessary. Don’t let others ruin your life by depriving you from your sexuality. Celibate is going to consume your mental health, you might not notice it at the begging, but with the years you won’t feel happy.

These days find myself more of good honest friends as opposed to a sexual partner. My sexual orientation doesn't define me. My caring and love I have for any and all others, "strangers" or not will. I'm no saint, but I hope I've helped someone along the way and let them know that no matter who you are you are loved and worth it. Never let anyone tell you different. Godspeed in this life.

Jesus will be your refuge and The power of the Holy Spirit has made you take this decision. God Bless You and I respect you. The world will say a 100 things but You stay with your decision as Salvation is more important than this life for us Christians.

Just as we as gay men don't want people to judge us based on what we do in the bedroom, since it is our own business, similarly we cannot judge him for what he doesn't want to do in his bedroom. He doesn't seem to shove his views down everyone else's throat, so neither should we. There's a lot worse you can do than not have sex, or at most, torment yourself over it. If he changes his mind in years to come, then so be it.

Loving, committed, monogamous gay marriage for life is not condemned in scripture anywhere. It is a medically proven fact that some people are born gay. God creates some people gay and also many hundreds of animal species gay. I was a Baptist Pastor, and now retired. May God provide you with a wonderful husband as He has for many others.

He has come to the decision that salvation is more important than a few decades of carnal gratification. How right he is, of course. What is a short period of lust and homosexual behaviour compared to all of eternity? We all have trials and tribulations and this happens to be one of his. For other people, it's other psychological or spiritual issues or physical ones or debt or family problems and many other things about which choices have to be made.
The interviewer asks how he knows he's gay if he hasn't had 'sex'. If this is a prerequisite for 'knowing' you are gay then why are young children being groomed into a homosexual lifestyle? (It's ideological subversion and to help reduce the population.)
Peter Tatchell has said that being gay is a 'choice'. I believe that this man, should his faith be strong enough, can overcome his unwanted desires and live the 'American dream'.

+Stewart Cowan Being gay is not only about carnal gratification, being gay is about love. A man loving another man. I feel sorry for this man because he has been brainwashed by his parents and sociaty into religion. I hope for him that one day he find the force inside himself to get out of it and live a happy life.
