Funny how the shortest videos are always the most helpful. Helped me understand how to build one of these that much better because of the video, explained a pitfall I should look out for and gave me a testing method. All in less then 90 seconds. Thank you so much dude
This is a VERY IMPORTANT video. That’s a simple mistake that anyone would make, and this shows how to fix it. Not to mention using a cheap clear plastic bottle for testing. So easy to see the results. Great!!
I just subbed friend. Been looking into this for molding clear, small spheres. In my research there were a few things that were unclear. You sir, in 1:23, cleared this up better than anyone. Thanks and happily subbed. God bless.

Im actually wanting to make a rotomolded silicone bottle, so my question is, did the bottle work as a mold? Were you able to extract the silicone afterwards?
Well, you’re not getting the outer shape with the threaded top, you’re getting the smooth inner shape. The right way is to make a mold of the bottle, then cast from that.
Watched a bunch of RUclips video's and made it from there. Only one said anything about the bevel gear drive ratio That is where I had my problem. It is easy to build I used 2"x 2" for the center boxes and 2"x 4" for the frame. Used bronze bushings instead of bearings. Had the chain and sprockets from other projects, Bevel gears came from old riding lawn mower transmission. Lots of luck. Ron

Whoaaa!! Simple but important!!
I'm about to make a rotational mould for resin.
Thanks mate
Huh, never thought of using a plastic bottle to test if it coats the inside completely, clever
thanks

this was a test. I wanted to see if paint would cover the inside of the bottle.

@@DisgruntledPigumon I am not making a mold I am checking the coverage of the machine
I would also like to know what plans you used or did you design this yourself?

@@dc9apu Thanks for the info and quick reply.
You are welcome. I hope it helps you build one.
I would like to what the point is.
To make hollow resin castings. I really just wanted to paint the inside of the plastic bottle.
The outer frame should turn about 7 RMP, and the inner frame should turn about 2 RPM, or about 1/4 the speed of the big frame.
