Nice! Do you not worry about movement with green wood and the lid not fitting when dry?

Beautiful! What size bowl gauge did you use for shaping? Looks like a big one.

Thanks. For the most part I use my 1/2” gouge for most my work

Didn’t need the lid. It doesn’t match and the vase is pretty by itself.

It’s a small pet urn. Made to the customers spec .. I agree with you 🤫

Cherry and wenge, what’s your favourite wood ?

Cherry is nice but I like Cedar. It smells good and doesn't crack that easy.

I was hoping you were going to keep that beautiful live edge on there. It went from a potentially amazing piece to... just another vase with an out of place lid. 🤗

I guess it’s just a matter of perspective isn’t it. I turn plenty natural edge pieces. I find them a bit dull, I’d be interested to see what you make of them

The jar/vase is beautiful without the top. The wood the top is made from, even though it’s gorgeous, is not attractive with the wood of the vase. And why did you use up the whole block of that beautiful dark wood just to make that top, which wasn’t needed? Just me.
