Very useful thanks. Just changed the oil and oil filter and spark plug on my new to me gts300 (2010) with 41000km. Gearbox oil is lovely and clean already. Air filter next job 👍🏻. From UK

Your video helped a lot. Thanks. Those two twist nuts up there on top were incredibly difficult to get off/on. I'm a software engineer and I guess my fingers are too soft. :) Regardless, it was hell trying to turn them. I didn't clean my filter, I replaced mine with a UNI filter. I had to buy some filter oil spray, and it says to "massage the oil into the filter". I should have worn gloves as they were gooey and sticky afterwards. Good thing I had some mineral spirits in my garage or it would have been impossible to get that stuff off my hands. I think I saw in another video how some of these screws had different lengths but mine were all the same length. Anyway...it was a nice first "maintenance job" for me. Next will be an oil change. I'm doing these things long before the maintenance schedule calls for but I figure it gives me some practice for later when I try to do all of my maintenance. Thanks again.

Great Video! Just a suggestion, that black dirty filter is way past it's service life. I'd just by a new one, they are inexpensive. Also, at least on my GTS 300
'17, you need to use foam oil on the filter (that is what actually helps trap the dust and dirt). I'm thinking about changing my to the Malossi filter for more airflow

Frankly speaking,the whole engine is too complicated for normal day to day maintenance. It should be redesigned for ease of tyre change,air filter cleaning, plug cleaning etc.
I think it makes it a fun challenge. Regarding engineering, it is incredibly difficult for Piaggio to figure out how to get all those moving parts in to such a tight package.
